Devouring Stars: Master of Evolution

Chapter 234 Expansion! Demon City

"Only the most fanatical wars, wars that please the will of the abyss, can produce [Abyssal Crystals]."

The conditions for the appearance of [Abyss Crystal] flashed through Qin Mu's mind.

"You want war? Then I'll give you war!"

"The swarm!"

"Begin full-scale expansion! I will let the swarms cover the land, and let the flames of war burn in this abyss!"

Qin Mu's will resonated throughout the entire swarm.

With the replenishment of abundant resources, countless larvae around the mother nest began to metamorphose and pupate.

The Zerg warriors, who were already hunting down the demons, roared in unison, becoming even more ferocious as if they had been given a stimulant.

Inside the nest, Qin Mu appeared before Queen Irina in a flash.

At this point, Irina had already transformed more than a dozen Greater Demons into Zerg.

"Irina, you will now take command of the swarm's war against the Abyss. Expand, slaughter, acquire more resources, and seize more Abyssal Crystals!"

I'm going to study the evolutionary path of the Zerg swarm!

Qin Mu's deep voice rang out.

Irina's talent for warfare is undeniable, and she has proven it successfully these days.

When Qin Mu used the [Abyss Crystal] to strengthen the Hive Tyrant, he gained considerable insights. If he could digest these insights, he would surely be able to go further in the field of genetics.

[Abyss Crystal] The Hive Tyrant before its enhancement was a creature with 40 times the genetic power, which would have collapsed and died within a hundred years at most. But now it has become a powerful being with 86 times the genetic power.

Not only is there no risk of genetic collapse, but there is even an opportunity to go further.

For example, Qin Mu once tried the dual-talented Zergling Tyrant!

Not only the Hive Tyrant, but also the step-by-step evolution that the swarm discovered when analyzing the demon genes, Qin Mu was very interested in and had many ideas in mind.

He preferred studying these things to commanding wars!

This is also why he went to great lengths to transform Irina into a Zerg.

"Understood, My Lord!"

Irina bowed slightly and smiled.

Commanding wars, especially large-scale wars like this, is practically instinctive for the Zerg Queen.

"The memories we obtained from those demons indicate that we are in the Anze Abyss, which is the 385464th floor of the Purgatory Abyss."

The exact size of the Anze Abyss is immeasurable; the farthest place they've ever reached is Anze City, billions of kilometers away. This is a city built by demons!

The place where the swarm is located is called the Twisted Forest, which is about ten million kilometers in diameter. I plan to occupy the entire Twisted Forest first, and then explore Anze City.

During this process, I will gradually release the Zerg units from my inner world and the world ring.

Irina revealed her plan.

Irina's idea was to proceed steadily and step by step, which coincided with Qin Mu's thoughts.

"Great, go ahead and do it!"

Qin Mu nodded in satisfaction; this was one of the benefits of having an excellent subordinate.

Compared to the units hatched by other swarms, Irina is far superior in both intelligence and methods.

Although the giant cosmic beasts hatched from the swarm also possess intelligence, they are basically only capable of fighting.

He waved for Irina to handle the affairs of the swarm, and Qin Mu plunged into the research of the swarm's genes.

……

The Twisted Forest was already filled with battles and carnage, and the slaughter became even more ferocious after the arrival of the insect swarm.

The muddy, decaying earth was covered with a fungal carpet, and the twisted jungle was completely swallowed up.

This land, filled with a foul stench, is extremely rich in nutrients; the viscous liquid in the soil is actually the flesh and blood of demons who died in countless battles.

Whether it's broken bones or hair, the fungal carpet accepts it all.

Even the swarms of flies and insects were completely digested during the expansion of the fungal carpet.

As the fungal carpet spreads vigorously, it absorbs nutrients and continuously converts them into energy.

Wherever they went, only Zerg units remained!

With the mother hive at its core, a massive number of Zerg warriors are hatched, and they spread outwards in groups of three or five.

All the demons they encountered, whether powerful or weak, were killed.

In the sky, enormous Flame Star Insectoids flew higher and higher, providing the swarm with a wider field of vision.

However, the swarm soon discovered that in the abyss, the higher they flew, the greater the pressure became, as if a hand was pulling them back to the ground.

Even a powerful beast like the Golden Horned Beast could only withstand this force for about 30,000 miles before it could no longer fly.

But if it's just for reconnaissance, 30,000 li is barely enough.

Perhaps it was because the appearance of the swarm and the Abyss Crystal a few days ago had drawn together a massive number of demons from the surrounding area. There weren't many demons in the Twisted Forest, and they were quite weak, so the swarm's advance went very smoothly.

Furthermore, the swarm set up two more mother nests.

With the full-scale reproduction of the three mother nests, the swarm's population increased at an astonishing rate.

One after another, colossal star beasts were released.

With the surrounding territory occupied by the insect swarm, there will naturally be no more scenes of encirclement and killing.

As the swarm's territory continued to expand, they soon encountered some powerful demons.

However, a single demon is far too vulnerable against a swarm of insectoid creatures.

Even the Great Demon cannot stop the expansion of the swarm!

Once discovered by the Zerg swarm, one will either die or be transformed into a member of the swarm.

However, during the process of Zergification, Qin Mu quickly discovered that these inherently chaotic demons could not change their habits even after joining the Zerg swarm and entering the Zerg network.

This is a chaos inherent in their genes, and even their souls.

Their genetic maps are all messed up!

So later on, they gradually abandoned the Zergification and simply slaughtered them to convert them into energy.

Chaotic demons are not a good match for the Zerg swarm; forcing them into the swarm will only weaken its combat power.

On the other side, led by the Iceberg Behemoth, which is best at stealth, the swarm's reconnaissance force rushed straight to the Demon City to obtain the latest intelligence for the swarm.

half a month later.

A six-armed serpent demon appeared before an incredibly vast city.

With a touch of curiosity, Qin Mu's will descended upon the demon city disguised as an iceberg behemoth.

This was the first time the Zerg swarm had ever seen the civilization's creations of the demons.

The moment I saw the city, I felt an unseen force guiding me, telling me the location of the city's entrance.

Guided by this will, the six-armed serpent demon flew swiftly through the sky.

The size of this city far exceeds conventional understanding.

Compared to the World City in the Blood Luo World, it is much larger, standing like a giant on this vast land.

The width of the city wall was unfathomable, stretching into the distance beyond the reach of sight, seemingly without end.

The height of the city wall is astonishing, reaching tens of thousands of meters, piercing the clouds and inspiring awe.

The city is entirely sculpted from dark red stone, which is hard, smooth, and exudes an aura of blood and death.

The city walls were covered with various sharp spikes, like natural defensive weapons, making people dare not approach easily.

It stands amidst a vast sea of lava, surrounded by churning lava and billowing steam, exuding a demonic aura.

Standing before this city, even a demon would feel an involuntary sense of insignificance, as if he were nothing in the face of this magnificent creation.

"Such a massive city, even a demon would find it difficult to build, right?"

As Qin Mu thought to himself, about fifteen minutes later, he finally arrived at the city gate.

It was not built of bricks or metal, but of countless bones.

These skeletons, weathered by time, still exude a chilling aura, sending shivers down one's spine.

The gate was incredibly tall, at least several thousand meters high, and even a creature as large as a fire demon could easily enter it.

Above the giant gate hung a skull burning with blood-red flames.

Looking through the eye sockets of the skull, it seemed as if countless souls were being burned inside. These souls struggled and cried out in the flames, emitting heart-wrenching wails.

This is an immortal-level demon skull!

Based on the aura emanating from the skull, Qin Mu made a judgment.

The fact that a demon commander's skull could be used as a facade to rule this city suggests that the demon commander must be quite powerful among those of the same level.

"An immortal-level demon commander!"

Qin Mu felt no fear whatsoever; on the contrary, he was eager to try.

During this period, a considerable number of units were placed in the Abyss of Purgatory to absorb the abyss's energy and localize.

With the power of the swarm, even a Greater Demon-level being can hardly pose a threat anymore.

The Zerg explored this demonic city with the aim of waging war!

With these thoughts in mind, Qin Mu quickly arrived near the city gate.

A pressure came from all directions, clearly indicating that flying was not allowed here.

Qin Mu obediently landed on the ground and began walking like the other creatures.

All the creatures that come here are powerful demons, and their species are incredibly diverse, including all sorts of bizarre and wonderful creatures.

Some demons simply travel silently, while others unleash their chaotic nature, fighting as they go.

After walking for a while longer...

Like most cities, an entrance fee is required to enter Demon City.

However, the fee charged was full of demonic style; it was an essence formed from flesh and blood, and also the hard currency of the abyss of purgatory.

"bump--"

The demon walking in front of Qin Mu picked up a battle axe, killed the demon next to him, extracted the essence of the dead demon's flesh and blood, and threw it to the goat-headed demon guarding the gate before entering the city.

"I love this method!"

Send it first, then revise it.
