Devouring Stars: Master of Evolution

Chapter 37 Expansion! Expansion!

"Swarm! Crush them!"

Tens of thousands of insectoid monsters, starting from the mother hive, swept across the center of the county town in droves.

Under the command of the mother hive, one after another, beast-general-level Zerg commanders led their Zerg armies to begin besieging and hunting the monsters in the city.

The entire city erupted in chaos, filled with deafening roars and desperate screams.

A group of armored scorpions moved swiftly through the city ruins, as if something terrifying was chasing them.

Unbeknownst to them, in the shadows, a two-tailed ocelot bared its bloodthirsty fangs.

The lead armored scorpion suddenly let out a sharp screech, and after a black shadow flashed by, its hard head was smashed open, oozing a pale white, unidentified liquid.

A rustling sound came from behind them, and a pack of tiger mastiffs surrounded them from all directions. Finally, led by a bloodthirsty tank, they began the slaughter.

On a slightly narrow street, dozens of monsters lived peacefully together, creating a harmonious atmosphere.

A group of tiger mastiffs gathered at both ends of the street, while shadowy cats darted and leaped through the shadows in the dilapidated buildings on both sides of the street.

The hunt has begun!

In the sky, flocks of gray larks swooped down like arrows, grabbing monsters and throwing them from mid-air to their deaths.

Some ferocious gray larks even tore the captured monsters to shreds in mid-air.

A eagle-like beast-class monster whose territory had been invaded was furious that these gray larks dared to openly provoke it!

This eagle-like monster spread its wings, its wingspan exceeding twenty meters. Its massive body was like a canopy in front of these bird-like monsters with wingspans of only a little over a meter, making them easy prey for the birds.

Just as it flapped its wings and pounced on the grey lark at supersonic speed.

High in the sky, a much larger golden vulture, with black upper wing feathers that faintly shimmered with silver-gray, and golden lower feathers, descended like a divine warrior, fighting alongside this eagle-like monster.

Feathers fell from the sky, and blood and flesh were scattered all over the earth.

The city descended into unprecedented chaos, with fighting everywhere, from the sky to the land, until all the monsters were bloodthirsty.

"Mother Nest, mark the location of the next target!"

Hundreds of meters in the air, Qin Mu stood on a golden vulture, wearing a black combat uniform, holding a long spear, with eleven short spears floating behind him.

"Target marked. The target is a mid-level Beast General-level Lion Mastiff, guarded by more than 100 high-level Beast Soldier-level Lion Mastiffs."

"Very good, let's use it for real combat, to practice our movement techniques and marksmanship!"

The strongest monsters in this city are only at the level of advanced beast generals. When a large number of beast general-level monsters appear in the swarm, Qin Mu no longer needs to charge ahead.

With a thought, the golden vulture beneath his feet swooped down, and when it was still more than twenty meters from the ground, Qin Mu suddenly jumped down and landed with a thud.

"roar--"

Startled, the mastiff instantly flew into a rage, letting out a deafening roar and opening its blood-red maw to tear at the dog.

Qin Mu, however, was not afraid at all. Without using his mental power, he held his spear and charged forward.

With a burst of power, the spear in his hand pierced the eye socket of a mastiff at an extremely tricky angle. A surge of hidden force erupted inside its brain, killing it instantly.

The mid-level beast general-level lion mastiff pounced, but Qin Mu slightly turned his body and dodged it by a hair's breadth.

Qin Mu moved like a slippery fish among the lion mastiffs, his spear thrusting out intermittently, each thrust taking the life of a lion mastiff.

Each of these mastiffs' attacks missed by just a hair's breadth, yet they couldn't harm Qin Mu in the slightest.

Qin Mu even used their massive bodies from time to time to block attacks from other lion mastiffs!

One of the lion mastiffs had its leg bone shattered by its leader's claw and was then shot in the throat.

Not only that, Qin Mu also used some stones and reinforced concrete ruins on the battlefield, sometimes retreating and sometimes advancing, toying with these mastiffs.

This is no longer just a movement technique at the microscopic level, but rather a glimpse of a perfect movement technique.

The so-called perfect movement technique means that in combat, one can control the surrounding environment and make use of any object around them, such as living things, rocks, buildings, etc., to perfectly utilize the environment and dodge with the most precise accuracy.

"Click—"

As Qin Mu dodged and weaved, his foot landed on a piece of building ruins. The ruins, weathered by wind and rain, collapsed suddenly, distorting Qin Mu's movements. The lion-mastiff leader seized the opportunity and bit down.

"It was a mistake."

Qin Mu was slightly startled, but remained calm.

An invisible force enveloped the alloy combat boots, forcefully lifting Qin Mu's body and allowing him to flip over and dodge the attack from the lion-mastiff leader.

At the critical moment, Qin Mu used his mental power to dodge the attack.

"Still not skilled enough!"

Qin Mu understood that he had too little actual combat experience, so mistakes were inevitable.

Just as Qin Mu was honing his movement techniques.

Near the mother nest, five golden vultures formed a flight formation, flapping their wings and soaring into the sky. Three of the golden vultures held worker insects in their talons, a tiger-mastiff dog of the novice beast general level, and a two-tailed tiger-cat, while the other two golden vultures escorted the flight.

After gathering a flock of grey larks in the sky, they formed a large group and flew towards the wilderness.

This is already the third team to take off from the mother hive, and its number is much larger than the other two teams.

They flew eastward, deep into the wilderness, and stopped in a very dense jungle. They circled in mid-air for a while, and only landed after confirming that there was no danger.

A tiger-mastiff of beast-general caliber and a two-tailed tiger-cat landed and stood guard around, protecting a worker insect as it entered a hidden cave.

The cave has a very large interior space, which can easily accommodate even a level two mother nest. After the worker insects enter the cave, they will automatically begin to incubate into a mother nest after finding a suitable place.

As the mother nest begins to hatch, clumps of fungal carpet spread rapidly outwards like flowing water, covering the entire cave and continuing to expand outwards.

The golden vultures and grey larks in the sky did not leave, but instead used their flying monsters and sharp eyes to find monsters hidden in the jungle.

When a hidden monster is discovered, it will be attacked by a swarm of five golden vultures, and no monster can withstand such an attack.

The corpses of monsters fell from the sky, crashing near the cave. They were dragged into the cave by the mastiffs and the two-tailed tiger cats and thrown onto the fungal carpet to become the energy needed by the swarm.

Three hours later, the mother hive successfully hatched, and more and more Zerg units were hatched.

A new round of battles and hunts has begun!

Before this, the other two mother nests in the county town had also successfully hatched and started fighting against the surrounding monsters.

The swarm's full-scale expansion has begun!
