Devouring Stars: Master of Evolution

Chapter 7 Qualified Martial Artist Assessment

The next day, before dawn, Qin Mu got up.

After preparing food for the worker insects, Qin Mu took the subway, changing trains several times, and spent more than an hour before finally arriving at the entrance of the Extreme Martial Arts Hall in the central area of Yangzhou, which is also the famous Mingyue Community.

At the entrance of the residential compound, six armed soldiers stood guard.

Before the other party could speak, Qin Mu spoke directly.

"I am Qin Mu, a senior student of the Limitless Martial Arts Academy, here to participate in the preliminary martial artist assessment."

Upon hearing this, the group nodded in agreement without saying anything more. Today was the day of the assessment, so it was perfectly normal for someone to come and take the test.

After an elderly man with gray hair confirmed Qin Mu's identity, he was led into the residential area by a soldier.

"Let's go. There are quite a few people here for the assessment today. Once inside, don't wander off."

The soldier led the way while explaining some rules to Qin Mu.

As a martial arts community, Mingyue Residential Area consists of villas with excellent scenery, featuring various flowers, plants, and rockeries arranged in a harmonious and picturesque manner.

In the middle of the residential area stands a towering clubhouse, which is Qin Mu's destination and the location of the assessment.

After the soldier took Qin Mu to the assessment location, the mission was completed, and he was then greeted by another sweet-looking receptionist.

There was a small bar in the clubhouse, where four people were already waiting, but they were all sitting quietly without chatting.

Among them, a lean young man wearing a black training uniform caught Qin Mu's eye.

"Luo Feng!"

Qin Mu's heart skipped a beat; he had finally met Luo Feng.

The unassuming young man before us is Luo Feng. He will save the Earth multiple times in the future, and later even take up the banner of humanity, becoming the backbone of the human race—a truly perfect protagonist.

Of course, he is still just a young man at the moment.

"Qin Mu?"

Luo Feng was somewhat surprised, not expecting Qin Mu to also participate in the assessment.

Although they were classmates, they weren't particularly close and usually trained separately.

Luo Feng didn't pay much attention to Qin Mu. If he could come for the assessment, others could too.

"Is your injury healed? Congratulations! I heard there was a guy named Qin Mu at the martial arts school who improved his skills very quickly. I didn't expect it to be you."

Luo Feng smiled. As Qin Mu's classmate and a member of the Extreme Martial Arts Academy, Luo Feng naturally knew about Qin Mu's injury six months ago.

"Not bad, she's a genius for her age. Hmm, approved."

Chief Instructor Wu Tong took out another ID card and slid it across the instrument.

"Next"

The nine people quickly completed the punching power test, with only one person being eliminated. The remaining eight people participated in the next test, the speed test.

"One by one, in the reverse order from before. First up, Yang Wu."

Chief Instructor Wu Tong instructed that Yang Wu was the last to be tested on punching power before, but this time he would be the first to be tested on speed.

25.1 m/s

"Haha, Yang Wu, you're lucky. You actually crossed the line."

Instructor Jiang Nian also let out a hearty laugh.

Unlike Qin Mu's first time taking the assessment, Yang Wu had participated many times, but his speed was his weakness, and he always fell short and failed.

Yang Wu ran over and looked at the display screen, where the data was clearly displayed—25.1 m/s.

"Phew, that was close."

Yang Wu laughed to himself; at least it had passed.

"Okay, that's fine."

Head instructor Wu Tong also smiled.

"Next."

They soon arrived at Luofeng.

"Luo Feng".

"Head Instructor Wu Tong shouted."

28.6ms

"The speed is quite good, much higher than the passing grade."

Chief Instructor Wu Tong smiled and nodded.

"Next."

Soon, it was the last person's turn, Qin Mu.

Qin Mu adjusted his breathing, walked up, and started running at full speed.

27.6 m/s

"pass"

Chief Instructor Wu Tong smiled.

Wu Tong was delighted to have discovered several promising young talents.

After the speed test ended, only two people were eliminated. The remaining six people continued to participate in the final test, which was the neural reaction speed test.

Just like the one overseen by the Extreme Martial Arts Academy, the neural reaction speed test is also conducted using an instrument similar to a six-barreled Gatling gun, only it looks much more advanced.

This is normal. Unlike the one under my supervision, this instrument is not just for assessing aspiring martial artists.

"The first one is Qin Mu," said Chief Instructor Wu Tong.

Upon hearing this, Qin Mu immediately stepped forward.

This was the hurdle Qin Mu was most worried about. Although he could pass most of them during training, the actual assessment was a different story.

"clatter"

The switch is turned on, and the machine starts.

Wu Tong explained the rules, which were the same as what Qin Mu had learned before: you have to dodge inside the circle, you can't touch anything, and you can't go outside the circle, otherwise you'll lose points, and if you don't have enough points, you'll be eliminated.

After finishing his explanation, he walked over to the neural response testing machine, adjusted the machine, and set it to an intensity suitable for the quasi-martial artist assessment.

"start"

The enormous muzzle of the neural response testing machine began to rotate, and bullets flew out one after another.

Qin Mu stared intently at the cannon muzzle, his body rapidly dodging within the circle.

"puff".

Although Qin Mu had tried his best, he was still hit from time to time.

Time passed by, and soon a minute had elapsed.

The muzzle of the test machine quickly slowed down and stopped rotating, and a large amount of data was displayed on the central screen.

"Hit 50 times within 60 seconds, without touching the red light, pass."

"Qin Mu, congratulations. Once the official documents are issued and your information is entered into your citizen identity information system, you will be a quasi-martial artist."

Head instructor Wu Tong smiled.

If you pass the assessment, you will generally receive an official certificate within seven days, which will be recorded in your citizen identity information.

"It's approved!"

A relieved smile appeared on Qin Mu's face.

We've finally passed the test, and we can now prepare for our plan to enter the wilderness area.
