Ancient Wizards Return to Hogwarts...
Chapter 193 Getting to Know Each Other Again: My Name is Salazar Slytherin
Chapter 193 Let's get to know each other again, my name is Salazar Slytherin.
The moment Riddle was pointed at, a very ominous feeling rose in his heart, as if he would be torn to pieces by the whistling spell in the next second.
He immediately dodged to the side, and the next second, a loud bang rang out from where he had been standing.
Riddle was certain that if that spell had hit him, he wouldn't have died, but he would definitely have had to go back to the diary to recuperate.
Why did the situation suddenly deteriorate like this? Riddle couldn't understand. Hadn't he and Rice been getting along very well? How come Rice suddenly started spewing a bunch of harsh words at him and then started attacking him?
Although Rice's move surprised him, Riddle wouldn't just stand there and act as a target. In his opinion, he could outmaneuver Rice and find an opportunity to escape.
He decisively used Ginny's wand to retaliate.
"A dragon has emerged from its cave!"
Riddle unleashed a torrent of magic as if it were free, drawing upon all the magic he had extracted from Ginny over the past few months. Even if he escaped alive after this battle, he would need a long period of rest and recuperation—ideally, he would find a new young wizard to draw power from.
Dozens of black snakes surged from the tip of Ginny's wand, fell to the ground, and flicked their tongues at Rice.
"Enough already! How dare you use a spell I invented against me?" Although Riddle's own wand had been knocked away by Riddle's Disarming Charm, he still had a spare. However, in his youth, Riddle's skill level was far from that of someone who needed to use a wand, so Riddle didn't take out his spare wand. After all, it was Hufflepuff's stuff, and it was best to keep it brand new.
Looking at the black snakes scattered all over the ground, Rice simply snapped his fingers, and they turned into wisps of black smoke.
"Go!" The black smoke drifted towards Riddle.
Despite not knowing what would happen if he touched the black smoke, Riddle still didn't hesitate to keep his distance from it.
He waved his wand, and a gust of wind swept through the secret room, engulfing the black smoke, which was then pulverized and dissipated in an instant.
Riddle wanted to press his advantage, but Rice's various spells were like a persistent affliction, leaving him no chance to retaliate.
He used all his strength to barely parry Riddle's attacks—and that was only because he was using the advantage of his spirit form. Several spells had hit him; if he were a normal mortal, he would have been unable to move long ago. But Riddle's current state was similar to that of a ghost, and as long as he had enough vitality, he could ignore these injuries.
Worse still, Riddle had a feeling that Rice on the other side was holding back; several times, his spells could have caused much greater damage, but he chose to stop short of inflicting serious harm...
It's like they're testing him!
boom!
Riddle unleashed an incredibly powerful blast spell, pulverizing dozens of floor tiles. Under the cover of the explosion, the now semi-transparent Riddle reattached himself to Ginny, then darted away towards the distance from Rice.
What an astonishing sense of oppression! He was just standing there, casting spells with bare hands, and I felt like I was suffocating! The last person to give me this kind of oppression was Albus Dumbledore—no, when I first met Dumbledore, I was just an eleven-year-old orphan who could only use his magical instincts to frighten children. Now I am a hundred times stronger than I was then, yet within his line of sight, I am no different from an infant in swaddling clothes!
Who exactly is this "young man" in front of us?
"Hey, don't damage the floor tiles here!" A somewhat angry voice came from the smoke of the explosion. The next moment, Ginny, possessed by Riddle, was slammed heavily to the ground—she found herself suddenly unable to move.
Petrification curse? When was that?
Ignoring Riddle who was lying on the ground, Rhys summoned Ginny's wand and began to repair the floor tiles that Riddle had damaged.
Fortunately, the damage was not irreparable.
Rice used a simple restoration spell to restore the floor to its original state.
After fixing the floor Riddle had broken, he looked toward where Ginny had fallen and his eyes met hers.
The next moment, Rice appeared in a field of withered dandelions.
Rice knew that Riddle was drawing him into Ginny's soul world—which was exactly what he wanted to do, and Riddle was making things easier for himself.
"This place should have been very beautiful." Rice bent down, picked a withered dandelion from the ground, and watched it turn into a handful of ashes in his palm.
"What exactly are you?" Riddle's shocked voice came from not far away.
Rice casually looked up, and then Riddle came into view.
Riddle in the soul world is very different from the one outside. His appearance is exactly the same, but his body is only half left, as if it had been forcibly split in two by something.
Hundreds of root-like things sprouted from the crack, took root in the sea of flowers, and drew nutrients.
"Hordeal." Rice chuckled dismissively. "How ugly..."
"How dare you say that to me?!" Riddle couldn't hold back any longer. In his eyes, Rice's appearance was far more terrifying than his own. At least he still had half a human form, while Rice standing in front of him was a monster covered in snake scales. Moreover, the face covered by the snake scales was also strange; half of the face looked like a young man, while the other half looked like an old man.
At the “boundary” between youth and old age, the two states are slowly “fighting” each other, occasionally creating a protrusion on the other side, which is then gradually swallowed up due to lack of follow-up strength.
"Tom, there is no perfect way to achieve immortality, but I dare say my method is the closest to perfect," Rice said to Riddle, looking at himself.
Riddle: You're pretty proud of yourself?
"So what exactly are you?" he couldn't help but ask a second time.
Rice glanced at him, raised his hand, and the name "Rice Chassal Rint" appeared in mid-air.
"Let me introduce myself again. My name is Salazar Slytherin," Rice said softly.
As he spoke, the letters that made up "Salazar Slytherin" changed rapidly, eventually forming the name "Salazar Slytherin".
Riddle felt as if he had been hit hard on the head with a hammer.
"This, this, how is this possible!" He kept repeating the same sentence as if he were crazy.
"Why not? If an insect like you can survive, it's normal for me to live a few more years, right?" Rice said with a smile.
