Ancient Wizards Return to Hogwarts...

Chapter 235 Tom's Special Medicine

Chapter 235 Tom's Special Medicine

"Rice, could I borrow your automatic homework pen?"

"It's for research!"

"I will definitely do the assignments for those key subjects myself, I guarantee it with the honor of the Greengrass family!"

After much pleading and cajoling, Daphne finally managed to borrow Rice's quill pen, which could write papers on its own, before the Christmas holidays ended. What followed was "a night and a miracle."

Daphne brewed a pot of coffee, adjusted the chair in front of her desk to a comfortable position, and then sat down at the desk, spreading out the assignments given by the professors one by one on the table.

"Now, it's time for a fight to the death," Daphne said solemnly.

Try to finish all your homework before 3 PM. If you can't, you can do it on the train home tomorrow.

She quickly planned which subjects' homework to do ahead of time and which subjects' homework could be postponed—depending on which day of the week it was the first class after school started.

Suddenly, there was a knock on her bedroom door.

Upon opening the door, Daphne found Astoria standing in her bedroom doorway, holding a silver tray.

"Sister, are you hungry? I've prepared some delicious snacks for you~" Astoria said with a smile as she squeezed into her sister's bedroom.

"The coffee smells so good! Are these beans Dad brought back from Ethiopia? My sister's taste is getting better and better!"

Listening to Astoria's endless flattery, Daphne frowned: What is this little girl trying to do?

She knows her sister all too well; if she's being overly attentive to her without a reason, there's no ulterior motive!

Sure enough, Astoria couldn't sit still when Daphne chose not to respond.

"I heard you got your hands on a quill pen that can automatically do your homework?"

"Who told you that?"

"DouDou." Astoria promptly revealed her source of information.

Daphne nodded; that was to be expected.

However, borrowing a quill pen won't be so easy; it's time to set some conditions.

After making a series of concessions, Astoria successfully obtained the right to use the quill pen.

With the help of quills, the two completed their history of magic papers at lightning speed. Before they could even react, the star charts for astronomy class were also finished.

"Amazing!!!" Astoria was filled with awe as she watched the quill pen move across the parchment with incredible speed and precision.

"Once the star chart is finished, you can go back. I still need to write my Potions paper," Daphne said, taking a sip of her coffee and signaling her to leave.

Astoria: ?

"Why are you writing papers for two courses... Can't this pen handle Potions class papers?"

"I promised Rice, on behalf of the Greengrass family's honor, that I would write the assignments for important subjects by hand..." Daphne looked troubled.

"Say exactly what you swore?" Astoria tilted her head, seemingly lost in thought.

After listening to her sister's retelling, Astoria blinked: "You swore an oath on the honor of the Greengrass family, not me. What's wrong with me using this pen to do my Transfiguration and Potions homework?"

Daphne: ?!

She thought about it again, and it was true. But the thought of Astoria finishing her homework under the dim light while she was working hard to finish it, and then lying in bed fast asleep with the help of a quill pen, made her grit her teeth in anger.

"No, I'm not lending it!" She made up her mind and said earnestly to Astoria, "You're still young, you need to build a solid foundation, don't be lazy in this area. If Rice finds out you used a quill pen to do your homework in those subjects, he won't be happy."

This actually fooled Astoria, especially when she heard that her sister was also going to do these assignments herself.

So, tonight is destined to be a sleepless night for Greengrass.

The next morning, as everyone prepared to board the train back to Hogwarts, Daphne and Astoria both looked like they were still half asleep.

"Have you finished your homework?" Daphne couldn't help but ask, looking at the energetic Rice.

Rice smiled and nodded.

He certainly finished writing it, and as for how he wrote it, he must have used a quill pen.

Before the invention of the automatic homework-writing quill, I had to find a way to do my homework. If I still have to do homework after the invention of the quill, then what's the point of inventing the quill? A wizard of my level doesn't need to do any homework.

"This isn't fair!" Daphne realized in a second that Rice had definitely cheated with a quill pen.

Damn it, he won't let me use a quill pen for my main subject homework, but he's having more fun using it than anyone else!

"How about I continue to delegate my homework to you from now on?" Rice glanced at Daphne.

Daphne shut her mouth.

With the sound of the train whistle, the young wizards returned to Hogwarts, and the second half of the school year officially began.

With Christmas gone and the weather gradually warming up, spring has returned to the campus. Everything seems to be back on track, and Hogwarts has entered a rare period of peace.

Rice had received many packages during this period, all containing potion ingredients. He used the ingredients that Rupert bought, plus Snape's "donation" from last year, to concoct a large quantity of potions for Astoria to drink, all of which were part of the preliminary steps in her treatment process.

Meanwhile, Rice was also keeping an eye on the condition of the "main medicine," and the remnant soul in Riddle's diary was currently in good condition—from Astoria's perspective.

He was now so weak that he was barely recognizable, and the trauma he had suffered in Ginny's inner world was still affecting him. The diary was even having difficulty responding effectively to information coming from the outside world.

It's fair to say that even if Rice threw the diary outside, it wouldn't cause any harm for decades.

"How have you been feeling lately?" Rice asked Astoria after she downed a glass of green potion in one gulp.

"I don't have much energy, and I feel sleepy every day," Astoria replied truthfully under Daphne's worried gaze.

Rice laughed. "This is a very good sign. Your soul has now stabilized and is no longer active, which is what I wanted to see."

His goal was to put Astoria's soul into a dormant state, which would reduce the activity of the curse parasitizing her soul, making it much easier for Voldemort to "absorb" the curse.

Seeing that Rice said it was a good omen, Daphne and Astoria both wore happy smiles.

"It will be alright."

"Um!"

The two sisters encouraged each other and cheered each other on.

Rice, meanwhile, was calculating the date of Astoria's "surgery".
