Ancient Wizards Return to Hogwarts...

Chapter 367 The World's Most Conscience-Righteous Teacher, Leslint

Chapter 367 The World's Most Conscientious Teacher—Les Lintt (Bonus Chapter)

"Why don't we let our students make the doll parts?!" Rice shouted, his words shocking Helga—how could someone be so lazy?

She decided to reprimand the lazy Salazar and make him understand that students are not to be treated like this.

"Helga, I know you have a lot to say, but hold on," seeing Helga about to lecture him, Rice quickly interrupted with a spell: "Let me explain!"

"Think about it, these dolls of yours will eventually be handed over to Hogwarts for maintenance, right? What does maintenance require?" Rice subtly guided Helga's attention, successfully diverting it to something unusual: "They need to understand dolls, be able to make doll parts, and even release newer, more powerful upgraded models. Who could be more suitable for this task than those who participated in the initial production of the dolls? Besides, as our students, they are more reliable, aren't they?"

Helga frowned, sensing that something was amiss, but couldn't come up with a suitable rebuttal.

Although Rice's explanation sounded plausible, wasn't it ultimately just about getting the two men's students to do the work for him? This old viper has become quite the liar, what's going on?

"Salazar, have you been reading any strange Muggle books lately?" Helga asked curiously, wanting to see what Salazar was reading.

"What are you talking about!" Rice retorted righteously. "Think about it carefully. We teach students new skills, skills that enable them to make a living and earn big money, and we cover their training costs—including the materials they damage while practicing—without charging them a single nut. Isn't that a teacher's heartfelt love for their students?"

Helga: ...

Ultimately, Helga reluctantly agreed to Rice's proposal only after Rice promised to "make the parts with the students."

"Alright, since you've agreed, let's quickly call Daphne and Astoria over, along with your Cedric. We'll work on the parts together here!"

Helga gave Salazar a complicated look, indicating that she wanted Cedric to have a peaceful Christmas.

"Alright, you're right. But after the Christmas holidays, Daphne and Astoria should be proficient in making doll parts. Then, considering we're all heirs, let them train Cedric." Rice accepted Helga's suggestion, but his casual remark made Helga uneasy.

How can you let two young girls teach your students?

While verbally agreeing with "okay, okay," Helga secretly resolved to write to Cedric soon to ask if he had time during his vacation and if he wanted to learn something new.

Seeing Helga's reaction, Rice chuckled: he knew Helga all too well; the four of them were adept at manipulating each other.

Helga could exploit her weaknesses to make him work overtime during the holidays, and he could do the same to get her to voluntarily hand over her disciples to him to share the burden, while also passing on her knowledge of puppetry to his students.

Despite Daphne and Astoria's seemingly pitiful appearance while working during Christmas, there's no doubt they gained invaluable knowledge of doll making. This knowledge, if not for Rice's earlier quip, would have remained a closely guarded secret among the Hufflepuff lineage, passed down through generations. Now, their students can have a piece of the pie.

A thousand years ago, you couldn't learn this level of knowledge even if you knelt down at someone's door until the stone steps wore out. Daphne and her friends really hit the jackpot.

Rice couldn't help but feel happy, genuinely believing that she was the best teacher in the world.

He desperately wanted to reconnect to the Floo Network and immediately call Daphne and the others over. What Rice didn't know was that the girls were already changing clothes; they had decided on their own to come to the office.

Meanwhile, in the Gryffindor common room.

Harry had opened all the packages except for the last letter.

He was a little puzzled: who would send him a letter during Christmas? If it wasn't a letter, then this Christmas present was too meager—he had already opened and seen the Dursleys' Christmas presents, so it couldn't possibly be from his uncle's family.

Harry picked up the letter and found that it was clearly written on the envelope that it was a letter from Sirius Black to him.

This confused him even more, because he asked himself, he didn't seem to have much interaction with Sirius Black. All he knew was that this guy was a poor soul who was wronged by the Ministry of Magic and had caused a huge uproar during the summer vacation, even triggering the major incident of Dementors surrounding Hogwarts.

Filled with curiosity, Harry opened Sirius's letter. After reading only two lines, his eyes widened in surprise: Sirius claimed to be his godfather and said he could verify with Lupin if he didn't believe him!

After delivering a powerful opening that shocked Harry, Sirius Black devoted considerable space to describing his happy times with Harry's father, James Potter, at school. He focused heavily on Harry's pranks on Snape, which Harry found extremely enjoyable and helped him understand why Snape was always picking on him.

To be honest, Harry thinks that if he were to meet Draco Malfoy's son in the future, he would probably find it difficult to maintain a normal attitude towards him, especially since he looks and behaves very similarly to Draco Malfoy.

Harry's emotions fluctuated with Sirius's words. He was happy when Sirius recalled how he and his father teased Snape, but he felt angry and sad when Sirius recounted Peter's betrayal of his parents.

When Harry finished reading the long letter Sirius sent, he was filled with endless emotion and a strange feeling: he had a godfather.

By the way, I discovered that the Ministry of Magic's compensation money is enough to buy a decent flying broomstick, and since I heard you're as good at flying as your father, I took the liberty of buying you a Firebolt as a Christmas present. Unfortunately, it arrived a day earlier than I expected; I hope you don't mind, and I hope you like it.

Harry's breathing became heavier: So that fire bolt was a gift from Sirius Black!

After the initial excitement, Harry started thinking about Sirius again. In his view, Sirius had been wrongfully imprisoned for over a decade without any income, and after being exonerated, he had used all his compensation money to buy brooms. Wouldn't that affect Sirius's life?

Harry quickly sat down at the table and began writing a reply to Sirius.
