Ancient Wizards Return to Hogwarts...
Chapter 7: A Minor Conflict Not Worth Mentioning
Chapter 7 A Minor Conflict
Along with the doorbell, a man's voice rang.
"Isabel, hurry up and make me a dress, I'm in a rush." A man with brown curly hair pushed open the door and strode to the counter.
The man was very tall and wore a long silver silk robe with gold trim, and a gold chain around his neck. He seemed to have a great fondness for wearing various jewelry, as he wore seven rings on all ten of his fingers.
Seeing Rice already standing in front of the footstool, he paused for a moment. After briefly observing the two men's attire, a hint of contempt flashed in his eyes. Then, he did something completely unexpected: he put his hands on Rice's shoulders, moved him aside, and stood on the footstool himself.
Rice: ? ? ?
Looking at the man standing calmly in front of him, Rice had a thought: Had he been cut in line? Who gave him the audacity?!
Seeing that Rice seemed very unconvinced, he directly stated his identity: he was a member of the McMillan family, and his time was far more valuable than that of you ignorant guys. It was only right that he enjoy the service first.
Seeing this, Isabel felt a throbbing pain in her temples: these pure-blood descendants were like idiots, a walking trouble-making machine.
Just as she was about to call out the other employees to smooth things over and resolve the conflict, Rice spoke up.
"The McMillan family? Never heard of them, but didn't your family elders teach you the importance of first come, first served? Go and line up properly." Rice shook his head as he instructed McMillan in a tone that sounded like he was scolding a child.
McMillan's face had turned a deep purplish-red; he felt like his lungs were about to explode with rage. Isabel, who had witnessed the whole thing, was extremely anxious: she knew all too well the character of these pure-blood wizards; that child was definitely going to get a severe beating for talking like that.
Unable to bear seeing the innocent and ignorant boy suffer, Isabelle decides to risk offending Macmillan and try to stop the conflict between the two. However, the situation changes far beyond her ability to react.
"You damned slugs, I've been saying for a long time that there should be laws that require mudbloods like you, with filthy blood flowing in your veins, to kneel and bow before pure-blood wizards. Fudge and Lucius wouldn't listen, and now look what's happened, these vermin dare to talk to me like that—"
The man bent down and poked Rice's shoulder hard with his index finger, while his other hand reached for his wand at his waist. He decided to leave the boy with a "deeply etched" memory, to make him understand that there is a clear hierarchy among wizards.
The next second, McMillan let out a heart-wrenching scream.
Rice didn't curse McMillan; he simply grabbed McMillan's outstretched fingers and twisted them backward forcefully, causing McMillan to scream in agony from the sharp pain in his fingertips.
"Have you figured it out yet? Can you go line up now?"
Under the pressure of pain, McMillan chose to surrender, indicating that he was willing to join the queue.
Seeing that he had given in, Rice released his grip. But McMillan, surprisingly, showed no sportsmanship and immediately pulled out his wand from his waist after Rice let go.
But no matter how fast he moved, how could he be as fast as Rice? The moment he drew his wand, Rice cast a disarming spell on him, and his wand spun out of his hand, rolling into the corner of the store.
After disarming Macmillan, Rice coldly waved his wand four or five times in succession, and with each wave, a loud slap landed on Macmillan's face.
After several heavy slaps, his face swelled up, and stars appeared in his eyes.
In Rice's view, McMillan's shameless act of turning against his own side after surrendering was a disgrace to the honor of wizards, and he felt it necessary to punish the man on behalf of the McMillan family elders.
After several slaps, Macmillan collapsed to the ground. Rice gave him a cold look, pointed his wand at his left hand, and all five fingers of his left hand simultaneously curled up at an extremely unnatural angle, making five crisp cracking sounds—Rice had broken all the fingers of his left hand.
McMillan, who had been dazed from the beating, instantly snapped back to reality, clutching his hand and screaming in pain.
Looking at Macmillan, who was lying on the ground clutching his finger and rolling around, Rice said in a pitying tone, "Too weak, really too weak. If it were a thousand years ago, a wizard like you wouldn't have survived more than three days after leaving school."
He turned to look at Isabel, who was completely stunned, and a kind smile appeared on his face: "May I ask if you can come over now to take my measurements? Please hurry, I'm in a rush."
Rice was also in a hurry. After buying clothes, he needed to buy two handy wands, and then a few magical items. If there was still time after selling the items, he would need to buy some other odds and ends. He had a lot to do.
After being hit by a series of unexpected events, Isabel was completely stunned. When she heard Rice call her, she walked to Rice's side blankly and measured his height by muscle memory.
Meanwhile, McMillan's screams continued, which annoyed Rice. He lightly waved his wand, and McMillan's lips pressed together like two magnets, silencing all the sounds in his throat.
After finishing with McMillan, Rice turned her attention to Isabel, who was measuring her waist.
Seeing that Rice was no longer paying attention to him, McMillan, who was on the ground, quickly endured the pain and ran out of the Transcendental Clothing Store, without even having time to pick up his wand.
Only after the shouts stopped did Isabel come to her senses and realize the enormity of the mess the boy had made.
She quickly whispered, "You'd better run! The Macmillan family won't let this go. Judging by your age, you should still be in school. You must stay in Hogwarts Castle this year. With Professor Dumbledore around, the Macmillan family won't dare to cause trouble."
In Isabel's view, although the boy was somewhat extraordinary, he was ultimately alone and weak, how could he possibly defeat a pure-blood family that had been rooted in the magic world for hundreds of years?
However, the boy simply shook his head, showing no regard for the McMillan family, one of the twenty-eight pure-blooded holy clans.
Seeing that the boy wouldn't listen to her advice, Isabel could only sigh and quicken her pace, hoping that he could leave this troublesome place as soon as he finished buying the clothes.
"Three sets of plain black work robes, two plain black pointed hats, one winter cloak, three sets of women's robes..." Isabel wrapped the clothes that Rice had selected into a package and handed it to him. Rice then picked out a few pairs of shoes and boots that fit him and Lupert before the two left the Tuofan Clothing Store.
I've already used up most of the Galleons I redeemed at Gringotts.
"Let's go buy a wand first," Rice decided.
Naturally, Rupert also received a new wand.
