Ancient Wizards Return to Hogwarts...

Chapter 70 Ravenclaw's Dressing Mirror

Chapter 70 Ravenclaw's Dressing Mirror

This shimmering silver cloak felt like holding a handful of water in your hands. The material reminded Rice of the robes worn by the false gods of the Norse mythology, those magnificent robes had the same texture.

However, the material is not its most amazing feature; what surprised Rice the most was the magic attached to it.

The spell attached to it is not an "ordinary" incantation like the Disillusionment Charm, but a combination of spells that even Rice found somewhat troublesome.

To Rice's bewilderment, this spell combination ultimately only achieved the effect of invisibility, and it was the kind of invisibility that could be seen through by himself.

It's like assembling a top-of-the-line computer and then using it to play Texas Hold'em.

At first glance, the invisibility cloak seemed unremarkable. To make any new discoveries, Rice would need to keep the cloak in his possession and study it for a while, but Harry and Rice's relationship was clearly not that close.

However, trying it on was no problem. After getting Harry's permission, Rice put on the invisibility cloak.

However, even after putting on the cloak, Rice still couldn't find anything special about it. It seemed no different from an ordinary invisibility cloak, except that it was more comfortable to wear.

Using precious materials and complex magic, a work of art was created? A sense of confusion crossed Rice's mind; he felt there was something fishy about this.

This wasn't the time to think things through; if they delayed any longer, Rhys was afraid Harry would think he'd absconded with the invisibility cloak. He took off the invisibility cloak and returned it to Harry.

"It's unlike any invisibility cloak I've ever seen before."

Harry smiled and said, "Indeed, Ron also said it was unusual."

An ordinary invisibility cloak will wear off in a few months to a few years, but Harry's invisibility cloak is said to be his father's heirloom, which means it has been effective for at least eleven years.

The spell's unusually long duration was perhaps one of its special features, Rice thought to herself, while also deciding to look up information about Harry's father.

After a brief chat, the somewhat odd combination of two Gryffindors and two Slytherins began their castle exploration.

"Come on, let's squeeze in, the cloak is quite big." Harry opened the cloak and gestured for the two to come in.

To be honest, this cloak was clearly not big enough to accommodate four people, even though they were all newly enrolled wizards. Daphne tried hard to control her expression, but she couldn't help but show her disgust: she didn't want to squeeze under the same cloak as these two.

The airtight cloak would block the exchange of air, and she would be breathing in the exhaled air of those two, and their warm breath might even spray onto her neck... Just thinking about that scene gave Daphne goosebumps.

Harry was a little embarrassed: he didn't know what to do for a moment. He couldn't very well kick Ron out from under the cloak, could he?

Fortunately, Rice was there, and he nonchalantly diffused the awkward atmosphere.

He explained that it would be difficult for four people to move around under the cloak, and that it would be more convenient for him and Daphne to use the Disillusionment Charm. Then, Rice casually pulled out a small pendant, pretended to twirl it, and cast the Disillusionment Charm on himself and Daphne in conjunction with the gesture.

Harry was curious about the Disillusionment Charm that Rice used, but he wasn't familiar with Rice and was too embarrassed to ask. In addition, Ron was urging him to leave, so he could only suppress his thoughts for the time being.

"So where are we going?" After circling the corridor a few times, Daphne's patience ran out. She didn't want to waste time on this, so she asked.

"I'm looking for a very tall suit of armor, and there's a magical mirror in one of the rooms nearby."

Daphne: ?

That familiar feeling of rising blood pressure!

How many suits of armor are there in Hogwarts Castle? Even Headmaster Dumbledore probably couldn't answer that question—Rice didn't know either; back then, displaying armor in castles wasn't common practice; they used stone beasts instead. Armor, especially full-body armor, only became popular after the fifteenth century.

Although she didn't know the exact number, Daphne was certain Harry's behavior was highly improbable. Harry wanting to find a specific set of armor in the castle was like wanting to buy cold medicine but only remembering that the name contained "capsule."

"How amazing is it?" Rice also wanted to know what was so amazing about the mirror Harry was talking about.

"That mirror reflects the family of the person looking in it. You can come and look at it with me." Harry went out on an adventure alone last night, donning his invisibility cloak. Unfortunately, he bumped into Filch again and accidentally stepped on Mrs. Norris's tail. Mrs. Norris and Filch chased him for a long time, and he finally managed to hide in an abandoned classroom to escape.

In that room, there was a mirror that Harry would never forget. Through that mirror, Harry saw his parents' faces for the first time.

Harry's words silenced Daphne. After a while, she took the initiative to help Harry recall the surroundings of the armor.

With the four of them working together, they found the classroom in no time.

It's not difficult at all. Just take Harry to the place where he met Filch, and then analyze his escape route, prioritizing options with abandoned classrooms.

When Rice opened the door and saw the mirror in the classroom, he froze: he felt an extremely familiar sensation reflected in the mirror. He couldn't help but walk up to the mirror and place his hand on it.

Memories flooded back like a tide.

……

The carriage slowly moved forward along the road, with the four people inside each lying in the most comfortable position to rest.

"Is there a way to know how clothes look on us without actually wearing them?" Rowena suddenly asked.

The other three people in the carriage: ...

"How troublesome can getting dressed be?" Godric frowned: Why is Rowena always thinking about being lazy? First, he invented magic that made the carriage drive itself, and then he came up with a strange gadget that could collect candlelight into a container and release it at night to provide automatic lighting.

"Some dresses are really troublesome to wear!" Rowena explained.

"You can get a magic mirror that can read your thoughts and then reflect them on its surface," Salazar Slytherin suggested. "That way, you can imagine what the dress looks like in your mind, and the mirror will automatically project what you look like wearing it."

"Great idea! I'll go make a mirror right now."

When Rowena Ravenclaw received her mirror, even her friend Helga Hufflepuff couldn't help but complain that she had lost her mind.

They thought Ravenclaw would be satisfied with just a makeup mirror, but she went and made an enormous copper coin that could reflect a person's entire body, and then polished it into a giant copper mirror herself.

"It's so much cheaper to polish it yourself!" she said matter-of-factly.

However, Ravenclaw's magic mirror did not achieve the effect she had envisioned.
