Ancient Wizards Return to Hogwarts...

Chapter 79: Let's learn about nutritional supplements?

Chapter 79: How about some nutritional supplements? (Seeking first subscription!)

Upon hearing Rice's words, Ron's face turned a color similar to that of his wound. He shakily raised his hand, almost bringing the wound to Rice's nose.

"Rice, look again. No, it's just a bite. How can it be beyond saving?" Ron's voice was trembling.

"If it was a rabid dog bite, then there's really no hope. It seems like your wound has been neglected for a while, hasn't it?" Rice subtly pushed Ron's hand away a little. Anyone with eyes could see that his condition was very bad. Ron's bitten hand had swelled to twice the size of a normal palm, and the flesh around the wound had turned green.

"It was definitely bitten yesterday, but it's only been a day!" Ron said with a mournful face, almost bursting into tears.

"Have you heard of rabies, or mad dog disease? If you are bitten by a rabid dog and don't get timely treatment, you will definitely die," Rice said calmly.

In the non-magical world, rabies is incurable once it takes effect. In the magical world, it's also an extremely difficult disease to treat, and Rice believes that Hogwarts' medical resources alone are probably insufficient to handle it.

However, Ron did not contract rabies. His wound was a dragon bite and had nothing to do with rabies.

Daphne, who was standing nearby, chimed in, saying that this was a very difficult condition to treat.

Ron's face gradually turned a liverish color.

After hesitating for a minute, he lowered his voice and said, "Can you keep the reason for my injury a secret?" Adhering to the principle that people who hate Malfoy can't be inherently bad, Ron chose to believe Rice and Daphne.

Ron wouldn't have sought help from two Slytherins if he hadn't previously interacted with Rice and Daphne and considered them to be normal people in Slytherin.

But he really had no other choice.

Of all the people Ron knew, only the two of them had shown exceptional talent in potions. He and Daphne were the only wizarding duo who had never been criticized by Snape in Potions class. If they couldn't offer any help, he would have to go to the school doctor.

But once he's in the school hospital, how is he going to explain the origin of this wound? If he can't explain it clearly, Mrs. Pomfrey will take it to Professor McGonagall, and then things will get really bad.

So Ron chose to tell Rice the truth, trusting that Rice and the others would keep it a secret for him.

"Of course, we won't talk nonsense."

After receiving Rice's assurance, Ron confessed: "Okay, it was actually bitten by a dragon, a Norwegian Spinosaurus. Do you think there's any way to save it?"

To Ron's surprise, Rice and Daphne seemed completely unfazed by the bombshell news, remaining remarkably calm, as if the dog that bit them was truly a stray.

Rice nodded, pointing to Ron's wound to indicate that it was indeed a standard dragon bite wound, and that it was not difficult to treat.

Ron couldn't contain himself any longer and blurted out, "Aren't you even a little curious about why I—"

"Why was he bitten by a dragon at Hogwarts Castle? Was it Hagrid's dragon's doing? I guessed it right away, I didn't even bother to ask. Hagrid's knowledge and circumstances simply don't support him being a qualified dragon keeper. If he insists on keeping a dragon in his little cabin, I can say with certainty that an even more serious accident will happen in the future." Rice rattled off a long string of words.

He was somewhat displeased with Hagrid's actions. Could Hogwarts keep dragons? Of course, but the keeper needed to be prepared. If Hagrid's preparation referred to those books, then Rice was against him keeping dragons.

Raising a fire dragon is a very profound art. Masters who are proficient in this art can raise a fire dragon as obedient as a sheepdog, but Hagrid is clearly not good at this.

Ron's eyes widened like two eggs.

"You, you are, uh, how do you know, you understand, that thing?" A stunned Ron couldn't even form a complete sentence.

"He's too flashy!" Daphne told Ron about her encounter with Hagrid that day, and said that with a little attention, they could find out what Hagrid was up to.

Ron felt a cold sweat break out: thankfully, it was one of their own who discovered Hagrid's problem; if it had been noticed by Malfoy or other Slytherin students...

Keeping a dragon as a pet is punishable by imprisonment in Azkaban!

"Alright, we'll talk about Hagrid later. Let's treat Mr. Weasley's wounds first." Only after Ron was finally willing to tell the truth did Rice agree to treat his wounds.

He and Daphne took Ron to an empty classroom and began preparing the potions he needed for treatment.

"It's not a big problem, don't be nervous." Rice tapped his wand lightly, adding the ingredients needed for the potion into the boiling cauldron one by one.

You just said—

"So you were bitten by a rabid dog?"

Ron shut his mouth.

Daphne snorted coldly: "Your wound can't be hidden at all. Anyone with eyes can see that it was bitten by a fire dragon."

As they were talking, Rice's potion was already prepared.

Knowing that Ron wanted to see how he would treat his wounds, Rice diluted the potion slightly and made Ron drink it.

Not long after taking the potion, Ron found that he could no longer feel his limbs.

After giving Ron the pain-relieving potion, Rice pointed the tip of his wand at the wound on Ron's hand and used a cutting charm to precisely cut away the rotten flesh. After the rotten flesh was removed, he applied a layer of ointment to the wound.

The white ointment quickly turned green after coming into contact with the wound.

After the ointment turned green, Rice waved his wand, peeled it off, and applied a new layer. He repeated this process until the ointment turned blood red, then poured a few drops of white cinnamon onto Ron's wound and bandaged it.

Ron's wound has been treated.

"Very good, the toxins in the wound have been completely removed—here, eat this." Rice rolled the ointment from the jar into a ball and gestured for Ron to eat it.

Ron: ?

"This is to draw out the toxins from your body. You don't think the toxins only stay near the wound, do you?"

Seeing that Rice said that, Ron obediently ate the ointment ball.

"Thank you, Rice, you've been a great help." Ron expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Rice for his assistance.

"You're welcome, lead the way."

"what?"

"I'm going to see Hagrid."

"Why did you see him?" Ron asked somewhat guiltily.

"I want to see if he's interested in dragon's nutritional supplements."

Ron was confused again; he had been completely bewildered by Rice.

Does a fire dragon need nutritional supplements?
