Chapter 207 The Good and Bad of Bad People
Chapter 207 The Good and Bad of Bad People
The film crew's chartered plane arrived safely at Atlanta International Airport.
Martin walked out along the corridor, and when Bruce caught up, he pointed to the Atlanta sign ahead and said, "Bruce, I'm back!"
Bruce, wearing an Atlanta Braves baseball cap, chimed in, "That scumbag's jumped back into the mud!"
"That's you!" Martin declared confidently. "I've returned and brought the king back to where he started his rebellion."
Bruce suppressed a laugh: "The patriarch has returned to the Vatican headquarters."
Martin then saw Robert's large head and immediately quickened his pace to leave the passage.
Robert was wearing a suit, his hair was neatly combed back, revealing his large forehead, and he looked very imposing.
For over a year, the two were thousands of miles apart, but they remained closely connected through cola.
Meeting you at this moment, there is not a trace of unfamiliarity.
Robert stepped forward, ready to shake hands with Martin.
Martin opened his arms and hugged him tightly: "My friend, my high priest, we meet again."
Robert reached out and finally hugged Martin: "In just a year and a half, you've become a nationally renowned superstar."
Martin released him and laughed, "You deserve some credit for that."
Bruce came over and bumped fists with Robert: "Dude, you look really cool."
Robert laughed too: "You've made something of yourself."
A henchman stepped forward and said, "Boss, you're now the talent director at Marietta Entertainment, a big shot in the Atlanta entertainment industry."
Martin glanced at the man, nodded slightly, and asked Robert, "How's the commander?"
"The same old story." Robert led the way out: "He always seems so composed on the surface, but he actually wanted to come over, yet he couldn't bring himself to do it..."
Martin understood this sentiment and said, "I'll go see him tomorrow."
The four of them didn't leave the terminal building, but went to the underground parking lot and got into a black Cadillac together.
Robert asked, "Which hotel?"
Martin had already decided where to go first when he arrived: "Mariette, Clayton neighborhood."
…………
As the sun turned westward and approached the horizon, Elena and her three siblings remained silent in the Carter family's living room.
Hall got up, went to the door, and looked at the yard, which was very flat.
Lily sat at her computer desk, clicking through web pages with her mouse: "I checked, the last flight from Los Angeles arrived a long time ago."
Harris fiddled with a star in his hand and replied, "He's so busy, he might not come today."
Elena got up from the sofa and went to the open kitchen area: "Never mind him, let's get ready for dinner."
Lily muttered, "You specifically took the day off to skip work..."
Elena suddenly turned her head and stared at Lily.
Lily quickly covered her mouth: "I didn't say anything."
A short, sharp car horn sounded from outside the door.
Hall shouted, "They're here! They're here!"
Lily threw down the mouse and keyboard, got up and rushed to the door, with Harris following behind.
Elena put her hands in her jeans pockets and slowly turned out of the kitchen counter.
A black Cadillac was parked on the side of the road.
The rear door opened, and Martin was the first to get out of the car.
The two houses are right next to each other; the one he used to live in was still dilapidated and in its old state.
The Carter family's house has had its exterior walls repainted and the fence replaced with brand new wire mesh. What's most surprising is that the yard, which was originally bumpy and overgrown with weeds, is now unusually smooth.
Something is wrong!
Martin arrived at the fence gate and saw the Carter siblings standing on the steps of the house.
Hall, who was at the front, had grown taller and his face was full of menacing features, making him look like a bad person.
Lily, who was nearly five centimeters taller than Elena, was smiling at him.
Harris is still the same as always.
Elena leaned against the doorframe, looking more confident than before.
"Idiot, you're at the door, aren't you coming in?" Elena retorted in her usual tone, "Do I have to go and invite you myself?"
Martin smiled at them: "My dears, I'm back! Aren't you going to come out and greet me?"
Lily tilted her head: "Tch, you're not an outsider."
Martin glanced at Hall, who suddenly turned his head to look to the side.
The Cadillac drove off, and Bruce, carrying a bag, came up from behind and asked Martin, "What are you doing standing here?"
"I've been waiting for you!" Martin pulled him along. "Let's go."
Bruce entered the yard first, and as soon as he took his second step, he realized something was wrong and sank in. Luckily, he reacted quickly and there was no additive inside, so he didn't fall.
Martin pointed at the four siblings on the steps: "You four idiots, trying to ambush me!" He demanded, "Tell me, whose idea was this? I'll kick his ass in!"
Lily stepped forward and admitted, "It was my idea!"
Behind her, Elena raised her fist and slammed it into her head with a loud thud: "You really want to get kicked?"
"It also depends on who kicked me," Lily said in a voice so low that only she could hear it.
Bruce pulled his foot out, glanced at the unusually flat ground in front of him, and couldn't help but grit his teeth. Could there be another trap?
These four Carter siblings are truly extraordinary; they welcome people in this way.
Seeing that she hadn't managed to trick Martin, Elena said, "Old Brooks, come around from the left."
Bruce went to the left, and Martin, seeing that he hadn't encountered any more traps, also went around to the door from the left.
As soon as he reached the top of the steps, he raised his fist and slammed it down on Hall's head: "Idiot."
Hall remained silent, pondering where to dig a hole to trap that bastard Martin.
Martin bumped fists with Harris, shoved Lily aside, and went to Elena.
Elena stepped aside and said, "Come in."
Martin followed him into the living room, where many of the furniture and appliances had been replaced with new ones.
Elena noticed his gaze and said, "I won the Georgia Bartending Championship last year, and I'm making a decent living now. I should thank you for teaching me bartending."
Bruce handed the bag to Martin: "I'm about to go back and check things out." He looked at Harris: "Hey buddy, can I borrow your car?"
Harris handed him the keys to the Ford.
Martin cautioned, "Old Brooks, be careful."
Bruce nodded: "I will. A year and a half has passed, and the situation in Mexico has changed rapidly. Those people have probably been swallowed up by now."
As before, Elena laid out various dishes on the table.
Martin washed his hands and sat down at the dining table with his four siblings for dinner.
"That's the taste!" Martin said to Elena after eating a piece of grilled pork. "Your cooking is still so delicious."
Elena asked, "You're not hurt?"
Martin knew what she was asking: "I suffered severe psychological trauma, so I came back specifically to seek your comfort."
"You're an idiot! So stupid and dumb!" Elena said in her usual tone. "Those Californians are dead, so what? Is it worth risking your life for them?"
Lily chimed in, "Exactly! They're not me and Elena!"
Hall asked in surprise, "What does this have to do with you?"
Lily stared wide-eyed at her younger brother. If it weren't for her older sister, she would have already started the violent suppression mode.
Martin said, "You know me, I'm doing this to save myself."
After dinner, Martin helped Elena clear the table, then took the bag Bruce had left and began handing out gifts.
He tossed Elena a box: "Here, take a look and see if you like it?"
Lily came over expectantly, looking at Martin without saying a word.
Martin said, "You have too many gifts. They were shipped with the crew's goods. I'll have someone deliver them to you tomorrow."
Lily's face lit up with surprise: "So many?" She couldn't help but ask curiously, "What are they?"
Martin retorted, "These dozens of Australian bison horns, I ordered them specifically for you from Australia. Aren't you practicing your sculpting? The clown you sculpted based on me is quite good; it's very popular with some people."
It seems Louise even shared her experience with Kelly: "When you've finished carving them all, mail them to me."
Lily's surprise turned into astonishment, just like Martin's childhood friend who had been hoping for a gift but received a workbook instead. She took several steps back and plopped down on the sofa, speechless for a long time.
Especially when I saw my sister open the gift box and take out a beautiful women's watch, I felt inexplicably like crying.
This is outrageous!
Martin gave Harris and Hall each a handheld device, then pulled out a gift box and tossed it to Lily: "This is payment for the carving."
Lily opened it and found it was the same brand as Elena's watch, but a different model. She laughed and assured her, "Not to mention dozens, I could have hundreds of horns."
Martin nodded: "The Australian buffalo population is rampant..."
Lily slapped her own mouth hard. What a lousy mouth!
Suddenly, a sound came from outside the door.
thump!
Oh--
"Thief!" Hall grabbed a baseball bat and ran out, only to find his father, Scott, had fallen into a trap he had dug and was face-first in the dirt.
Scott scrambled to his feet, muttering, "Time to get going..."
He took one step forward, and then fell down with a thud.
This time, he wasn't so lucky; he tripped and fell on his backside. Scott jumped forward even faster than he fell, yelling, "Ouch!"
With both feet touching the ground, he fell into the pit with a thud and then collapsed in front of the steps.
Scott looked up and saw his four children.
Elena asked coldly, "What are you doing here instead of keeping your rich wife company?"
Scott struggled to his feet, his arms and legs scraped and bruised, and pointed at Martin, saying, "That bastard's a piece of trash in Hollywood. I'm warning you, don't let him fool you!"
Lily retorted, "Martin may be a scoundrel outside, but he's genuinely good to us!"
Hall, who had just received the gift, nodded in agreement.
"Go, Scott." In Harris's eyes, Martin's teaching Elena how to mix drinks had truly changed the fate of this family, and the Atlantic Astronomical Society had also freed him from worrying about tuition and living expenses.
Regardless of what Martin does outside, he treats his four siblings exceptionally well.
Elena nodded: "We understand, you can go now."
"I am your father..." Scott roared weakly.
Lily said, "Go live your life as a millionaire."
Scott gave Martin a cold look, turned around, and slung his legs over his shoulder as he walked out.
Martin and the other four went back inside, and without Scott, the atmosphere quickly improved.
