Chapter 281 Reporting the Crime
Chapter 281 Reporting the Crime
For over a decade, Aniston's long, golden-brown hair has been her trademark.
Her hair is not only related to Aniston's image, but also to her brand.
Martin understood the reason: "Would cutting his long hair be a breach of contract?"
Aniston nodded slightly: "The clothing, cosmetics, and mineral water I endorse all have restrictions; I can't cut my long hair."
It's normal for endorsement contracts with high fees to have restrictive clauses, Martin said. "My Coca-Cola endorsement contract is exclusive to alcoholic beverages and soft drinks."
Aniston returned to the previous topic: "There were quite a few well-known actors in that cast, besides Blanchett, there was Julian Moore, Richard Gere, the new Batman Christian Bale, and Australian actor Heath Ledger."
Martin spoke so eloquently: "All of them combined are no match for you alone."
Time flew by. After catching their breath, the two returned to the studio to continue filming.
Martin and Aniston had fewer scenes to film today, and as soon as the gloomy sky began to darken, the two finished work early and prepared to return to their hotel.
These days, Aniston and Martin are living, eating, and traveling together, completely like a couple on set.
Along with Bruce, the three of them entered the parking lot together; the crew had provided Martin with a Mercedes.
Martin walked towards the Mercedes first, when he suddenly heard the roar of an engine not far away, like some kind of large-displacement American muscle car.
As he turned his head, a blue Mustang sports car sped out from among the parked vehicles.
Bruce sensed danger and shouted, "Watch out!"
Martin moved with lightning speed, grabbing Aniston and pulling her behind a nearby heavy concrete block.
That car was clearly heading this way.
The Mustang wasn't going very fast, but whether it was due to poor driving skills or some other reason, the car wobbled and swerved like a drunkard.
Aniston was shielded behind Martin, gripping the back of his coat tightly. Looking at his broad back, a sense of security welled up within her.
But the roar of the muscle car's engine brought Aniston back to reality.
The blue sports car seemed to have gone out of control, with half of its front scraping against a waist-high concrete block, making a harsh, unpleasant scraping sound, and the headlights shattering.
The distance was only four or five meters, and Aniston's heart was in her throat.
If Martin hadn't pulled her aside in time, the Mustang would have hit them both.
The driver clearly swerved the steering wheel, and with a muffled thud, the passenger side wheel slammed into a concrete block.
The Mustang came to a stop.
Bruce walked around to the rear of the car and stared intently at the person in the driver's seat.
Martin, however, recognized who was in the car and gestured to Bruce, moving slightly closer across the concrete barrier.
Aniston followed closely behind Martin, which made her feel safe.
The Mustang's driver's side door opened, and as soon as one foot stepped out, a voice rang out: "Fuck! Damn concrete, why are you blocking my way?!"
After getting off the concrete block, he kicked it, yelling, "Get lost! Get out of my way!" He then gave the block the middle finger, shouting, "Idiot, don't fucking block my way!"
Martin cautioned, "Dude, you almost bumped into us, shouldn't you apologize first?"
The man turned to face Martin and Aniston, and instead of apologizing, he cursed, "Fuck!"
Martin glanced at him briefly, confirming that he hadn't mistaken him for someone else—Australian actor Heath Ledger.
The other person was swaying unsteadily, looking excited, with bulging, bloodshot eyes.
This is a situation that anyone who has spent some time in Hollywood will be familiar with.
Before Martin could react, Heath Ledger shoved the medicine bottle into his wool coat pocket and shouted, "Don't you dare block my way!"
He seemed a little out of it: "Bastards, bitches, get out of here!"
People on drugs are mentally unstable. Martin initially didn't want to talk to him, but after hearing his foul language, he became even less polite: "Watch your words! You'd better apologize to us!"
Perhaps under normal circumstances, he is a humble and kind person.
But what kind of monster will you become after taking drugs? Even God probably doesn't know.
Heath Ledger glanced sideways at Martin and Aniston, and as he walked past them, he raised his arm to extend his middle finger.
As he moved, the outstretched arm landed directly on Aniston's side, subtly pointing towards her chest.
This is Martin's livelihood; he won't allow anyone to take it!
Besides, Martin is the kind of guy who always wants to stir up trouble.
Now that an opportunity to cause trouble has been presented to him, he's not about to let it slip by.
Before Heath Ledger could extend his middle finger, Martin grabbed his forearm, twisted it behind his back, kicked him in the back of the knee, and pressed him down.
"Ouch—"
Heath Ledger screamed as his head was crushed against the rough concrete block.
Although there was no glass container for Coca-Cola, Martin, the Coca-Cola God, twisted Heath Ledger's arm with one hand and pressed his elbow against the back of his neck with the other.
Strongman locks up man!
Aniston was stunned for a moment, but before she could catch her breath, Martin had subdued the man.
Martin turned his head slightly and gave Aniston a wink.
Bruce had already thoroughly investigated the studio; the equipment was outdated, and given the privacy and confidentiality of the crew, there were no surveillance cameras installed.
"Damn it! Fuck!" Heath Ledger struggled desperately, but it was like being crushed by a mountain; he couldn't move at all. He roared furiously, "Damn it, let me go!"
But his voice was immediately drowned out by a piercing scream.
Martin and Aniston, this pair of adulterers, have recently been researching 72 ways to explore tunnels, showing remarkable chemistry.
Aniston understood Martin's intention and screamed at the top of her lungs, "Indecent assault! Indecent assault! Help me! Martin, help me..."
The woman's screams carried exceptionally far.
Bruce covered his face. These actors are really good at acting!
He wouldn't believe a single word a Hollywood star said, except for Martin!
All the persecution, the deep love, the sacrifices made for the role—all of that needs to be discounted by 20%.
Bruce put away his camera phone and tucked it into his pocket.
Martin pinned Heath Ledger down, roaring, "You bastard, what have you done?"
The other person nearly bumped into him and Aniston, and Martin's accusations came out of nowhere: "Are you trying to murder us? What kind of man are you, humiliating a woman like that!"
Heath Ledger's face and mouth were pressed against the rough cement; his head, still fuming from the drugs, was foggy and he couldn't quite grasp the situation.
Several people ran over from the corner that blocked the view of the parking lot, with the studio's security personnel at the front.
He was followed by Bell, Blanchett and Julian Moore.
The three of them had just left the studio and were about to finish work and return to their hotel when they heard Aniston shouting, so they rushed over immediately.
Martin saw them, and his mind raced.
Aniston auditioned for "I'm Not There" a long time ago and knew that a big shot was behind the crew, a big shot who didn't get along with Martin.
She wouldn't let her little puppy suffer, especially since he almost bumped into her and called her a bitch to her face.
Aniston decided to make a scene, pulled out her phone, dialed 911, and said to Martin and Old Brooks, "I'm calling the police!"
Bruce glanced at Heath Ledger's condition, knowing his extensive experience wouldn't be wrong, and immediately nodded slightly to Martin.
Martin said, "Jane, he's up to no good. Let's call the police!"
When someone is on drugs, who knows what outrageous things they might do? Martin wanted to be on the safe side.
He and Bruce weren't afraid, but Aniston was always alone at the studio.
As the people ran closer, Aniston stepped back and leaned against the passenger door of the Mercedes, her face showing genuine fear. She then pressed the call button to alert the police.
The first security personnel to arrive immediately recognized Martin and Aniston, as well as the person pinned under the hood of the car. They grabbed the rubber baton at their waists: "Mr. Davis, don't be impulsive! What happened?"
"This man was harassing Ms. Aniston and me, and almost hit us with his car. I subdued him. I suspect he was on drugs or using drugs." Martin explained the situation quickly and concisely, without needing to make things up.
After Aniston called the police, she exchanged a glance with Martin.
Bruce called the production team, and David Heyman, Warner Bros.' representative at the studio, immediately rushed over.
Bell, Blanchett, and Julian Moore have figured out the situation.
Julian Moore, who knew Aniston well, came to her side to comfort her.
Bell glanced at Martin and Ledger. He knew Martin but had no connection with him, though he got along well with Ledger. He stepped forward and said, "Buddy, let's release him first."
Blanchett, an Australian and a key member of the Australian clique in Hollywood, naturally wanted to help Ledger, so she chimed in, "Isn't there some misunderstanding? Ledger has always been a gentleman, he wouldn't..."
"A misunderstanding?" Martin showed no intention of letting go, gesturing towards the Mustang with his eyes: "If Jane and I hadn't run fast, he would have rammed us into the concrete pillar! Afterwards, he cursed at Jane and tried to attack her; I saw it with my own eyes. You call this a misunderstanding?"
Aniston nodded repeatedly, her face filled with grief and indignation.
Even so, Blanchett did not give up, urging, "We're here, Ledger can't do anything more."
Martin stepped back slightly, allowing Heath Ledger's face to be clearly seen: "He's on drugs. Do you think he's sober? Can he control himself?"
"Fuck!" Heath Ledger suddenly felt a sharp pain in his hands and neck. His emotions, already controlled by drugs, became even more out of control: "You two pieces of shit, I will never let you go! I'm going to kill you..."
Several security personnel quickly stepped in front of the celebrities, reminding them, "Mr. Bell, Ms. Blanchett, please step back and keep your distance from him."
"He...he's here again!" Aniston threw herself into Julian Moore's arms, her voice trembling. "I called the police, you have to testify for me!"
Julian Moore, an American with no connection to the Australian gang, comforted Aniston with a hug: "Jane, let's leave here first and wait for the NYPD to arrive."
The heads of the two film crews arrived one after another.
In the distance, police lights flashed and sirens wailed as the NYPD arrived at the studio at top speed.
