Chapter 322 Another 100 Million
Chapter 322 Another 1 Million
Martin was awakened by the buzzing of his phone in the early morning. He picked it up and saw Leonardo's name on the screen. He glanced at Louise, who was still fast asleep, and quickly got up and went to the balcony.
The moment I pressed the call button, I heard Leonardo DiCaprio's smug voice: "Martin, come out and have some fun!"
Martin glanced back at the clock and said, "Are you kidding me? It's only seven o'clock."
Leonardo retorted, "Don't you always get up at 6:30 for your morning run?"
Martin quickly added, "We played too many eagles yesterday afternoon and evening..."
Leonardo was confused by Martin: "I remember you don't like golf."
Martin immediately criticized, "You're fucking stupid!" and reminded him, "Think about what an eagle shot is."
"Hole-in!" Leonardo, true to his rascal nature, instantly understood: "Aniston this afternoon, who's it tonight?"
Martin didn't answer, but instead asked, "Where are we going to party so early?"
Leonardo said, "I'm on the Oaks section of the Ring Road, just west of your house. Remember to ride a bicycle and be an environmentalist."
Martin was woken up and couldn't go back to sleep. He quickly washed up, glanced at his clothes from yesterday, which were crumpled up from playing too much.
Louise rolled over: "Where are we going so early?"
"Good morning, darling," Martin said. "Leo invited me to go cycling."
Louise said, "Boring. He's an environmentalist, and you're not. Why are you riding a bicycle?" Still half-asleep, she couldn't help but add, "What's so great about it?"
Martin went over and kissed her cheek: "I'll be back soon."
Louise remained lying down without moving: "I've prepared some clothes for you in the dressing room, and there should be a mountain bike in the garage, which I've bought but haven't ridden much of."
Martin went into the adjoining walk-in closet and found that a cabinet that was originally used only for women's clothing and bags had been specially set aside to hold men's clothing.
There was also a note stuck on the cabinet door: Martin Davis.
Martin pulled out his tracksuit and sneakers, quickly put them on, and they were the perfect size for him.
It was obvious that Louise had taken note.
Martin didn't say anything, just waved and left the bedroom.
After saying goodbye to the housekeeper Mary, Martin went to the garage, retrieved his mountain bike, and rode out the door.
The route from the south slope to the coastal road isn't particularly steep, but it's all downhill, making for an incredibly enjoyable ride.
It brought back the feeling Martin had when he was a child.
Back then, when I rode a 28-inch bicycle downhill, the brakes were bound to break, and I had to use my foot brake to slow down. Nothing ever happened, but it did wear out my shoe soles a bit.
Before long, Martin arrived at the coastal road.
Leonardo was waiting at the intersection.
Surprisingly, Tobey Maguire was also there.
Martin greeted Spider-Man and said, "Let's hurry up and go. There are so many reporters following us. We can't let them see the three of us standing here chatting."
Leonardo responded, "Green travel, do whatever you want."
Martin said, "People who talk about green all the time will have green hair."
Leonardo didn't understand and asked Maguire, "Toby, do you know what this means?"
Maguire shook his head.
Martin hopped on his mountain bike: "Let's go."
Leonardo and Maguire followed.
The three of them walked slowly, chatting while enjoying the scenery.
The two motorcycles and two cars following behind could only move at a snail's pace.
The film "The Departed" is currently in its promotional period, and Martin and Leonardo DiCaprio are very cooperative with the paparazzi taking photos.
Martin asked something: "Isn't AA getting engaged this year? What about the bachelorette party you mentioned?"
Leonardo looked him up and down: "You're still capable of participating?"
"You think everyone is Leonardo DiCaprio?" There were paparazzi around, so Martin gave him face and didn't mention it for 11 seconds.
Leonardo DiCaprio said, "This year, Victoria's Secret is preparing for an unprecedented show. The preparation time is very long. AA's engagement has been postponed until after the Victoria's Secret show. Don't worry, I will let you know when the time comes."
He asked, "The last time I saw Heidi, she asked you if you had come up with a good idea yet?"
Martin pointed to his temple: "I've already thought it through."
Tobey Maguire interjected, "You guys wasted your vacations on them?"
Martin, who was somewhat familiar with him, asked, "Any other fun things to do?"
Maguire suggested, "Why don't we go to Las Vegas and play poker together?"
Martin said, "Leo and I play poker too, clap clap clap..."
Maguire looked at Leonardo with a questioning look in his eyes: Where did you find such a great friend?
The two were childhood friends, and Leonardo understood what Maguire meant, so he shrugged.
Maguire said, "Real poker is still the most fun, and I'm preparing to develop into a professional poker player."
"Poker games are still the most fun." Everyone has different preferences, but Martin has always been sworn enemies of gambling and drugs, so he wouldn't have the same hobbies as Maguire.
I vaguely remember that this Spider-Man later seemed to have a terrible time playing poker, but luckily he had his childhood friend Leonardo DiCaprio to help him out.
The three rode for less than four kilometers, found a place to have breakfast, and then turned back.
Leonardo DiCaprio invited: "My other film, Blood Diamond, will be released soon, and you must come to the premiere."
Martin, of course, wouldn't be absent: "Don't worry, I'll definitely go. If the Debbies Company sends assassins to deal with you, I guarantee I'll knock them all out with Coke."
With Blood Diamond scheduled for release around Christmas, Debbies Diamonds is concerned that it will affect public enthusiasm for diamond products and has repeatedly announced that the diamond business consortium will boycott the film.
But Leonardo DiCaprio and the distributor Warner Bros. completely ignored them.
Martin and Leonardo agreed to go wash their faces that evening, then turn at the intersection and cycle back to Sherman Oaks.
The more exhilarating it is to go downhill, the more miserable it becomes during this downhill section.
Although the slope is not steep, who enjoys riding a bike uphill?
Martin considered calling Bruce to ask him to drive over, but then remembered that Bruce had gone to see the Kardashian sisters last night, so it was better not to disturb him.
In this respect, he felt that he was much more qualified than Leonardo.
There's a reason why the trio can only be ranked last.
It has nothing to do with age; it's mainly because of their exceptionally high qualities.
Suddenly, a horn beeped from behind.
Martin stopped the car and turned around; a red BMW was parked to his side and slightly behind.
Elizabeth Olsen got out of the driver's seat and called out, "Hey Martin, are you working out? Want a ride?"
"Okay." Martin got out of the car, pushed it over, adjusted the angle, stuffed most of the car into the trunk, turned around and got into the passenger seat.
Elizabeth's white-haired train headed up the south hillside.
Martin said, "This is the first time I've seen you drive."
Elizabeth replied, "I'll be 18 next year, didn't you know?"
Martin thought to himself, but remained calm and said, "When is your 18th birthday? I'd like to prepare a birthday present for you in advance."
Elizabeth said, "Next February, there's no need to prepare a gift; your presence is the best gift."
Martin said, "Remember to send me an invitation then."
Elizabeth was delighted: "No problem."
This is the person who gave her a second life, so being able to attend her 18th birthday party would be especially meaningful.
She mentioned something: "I changed agents, and now I'm a WMA client, just like you."
Martin said, "WMA has gained another amazing client."
Elizabeth, though young, understood perfectly: "Because I have two wonderful older sisters."
"That's because you're good enough." Martin had read Forbes magazine a few days ago, which described the Olsen twins as human money-printing machines.
As the car reached the south slope, Elizabeth asked, "Are you going to Louise's?"
Martin nodded: "I'll get off here, I'll contact you later."
Elizabeth waited for him to get his bicycle, then waved and said, "Wait for my call."
The BMW drove into the Olsen family mansion, and Martin rode his mountain bike back to Louise's house, which was not far away.
Louise was too tired last night and hasn't gotten out of bed yet.
Martin tidied up and went back to sleep; nothing feels as comfortable as holding that thing on a bicycle handlebar.
Meanwhile, photos of Martin and Leonardo riding together have appeared on the TMZ website.
The internet is also changing the gossip and entertainment industry.
The Departed is in its third weekend in North America, and thanks to excellent media and audience reviews, the film's box office performance is extremely stable.
Although it relinquished its top spot at the North American box office, it still grossed $1755 million.
Including weekday earnings, the North American box office surpassed the $1 million mark, reaching a cumulative total of $1.18 million.
Following The Hills Have Eyes and Wanted, Martin Scorsese achieved the feat of having three consecutive films starring him gross over $100 million at the North American box office.
Even if this is a movie with two or even three main characters, Martin's salary for the next film will definitely exceed ten million dollars.
This week, Infernal Affairs was also released in more markets around the world, increasing to more than 40 overseas markets, with overseas box office revenue exceeding $6000 million.
Recouping the entire investment through box office revenue is not an unrealistic expectation.
Warner Bros. is also stepping up its public relations efforts for the film's Oscar campaign, as the Oscars greatly boost television rights and DVD sales.
Scorsese's gangster films already rely heavily on retail revenue, and with the added bonus of an Oscar, they're practically rolling in money.
The four main creators got together again.
Even Martin got drunk this time.
After Scorsese got drunk, he hugged a street lamp in the yard of Leonardo DiCaprio's mansion and shouted to his wife that he insisted on having a seventh child.
Nicholson is going to see Naomi Campbell tonight to get revenge for what happened on the yacht.
Leonardo DiCaprio, contrary to his usual self, fell into grief, crying and saying that his true love in this life was Gisele Bündchen, but unfortunately he couldn't give up so many good girls for her alone.
Martin shouted that he would storm Washington, storm the White House, and dissolve the Union.
The four lunatics caused a ruckus for most of the night before finally calming down.
Fortunately, Leonardo's mansion in Brentwood is big enough that even if he makes a huge fuss, it won't affect the neighbors.
The following day at noon, Scorsese woke up and, seeing the gleaming lamppost, gave the other three a gag order: "Nobody's allowed to tell anyone. If I hear even a single rumor outside, you can expect the Mafia to come knocking on your door and silence you!"
