Chapter 336 Dismissed
Chapter 336 Dismissed
At the Pinewood Studios press conference for "The Bourne Ultimatum," a TMZ reporter asked Matt Damon for his opinion on the Brad Pitt nanny scandal.
Damon's expression was unusually serious, and he stated his position without hesitation: "Many people support Jolie and Aniston, MeToo! From today onwards, I refuse to cooperate with Pitt in any form!"
Almost simultaneously, Ben Affleck of Los Angeles also distanced himself from Brad Pitt.
Whether Brad Pitt agreed or not, he was kicked out of the club.
Hollywood women are not stupid at all. By bashing Pitt, they saw an opportunity to fight for their own rights and stood up one after another.
Once the outcry truly gained momentum, even many male celebrities who claimed to support women joined in the chorus of attacking a fallen woman.
The fall of Brad Pitt can benefit many people.
As a close friend of two direct victims and a leading figure in left-wing women's opinion, Martin also talked about Pitt in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
Gillian Flynn interviewed him: "Ms. Julie and Ms. Aniston both mentioned in their interviews that you played a significant role in their reconciliation. Could you elaborate on what you did?"
"How could I possibly bring up things like playing poker, making lubricant, and hot dogs?" Martin said seriously. "At first, I was just acting as a mouthpiece, relaying things that Jane and Angie thought the other had done wrong. But the two sides realized they weren't on the same page at all. They talked on the phone and confirmed that they had been instigated by Pete. I chose a suitable time to arrange for the two of them to meet."
He smiled and said, "As it turns out, if bad people hadn't stirred things up, Jane and Angie wouldn't have fallen out."
Gillian asked as planned, "Pitt's actions have provoked outrage and boycotts from many industry professionals. What are your thoughts on this?"
"MeToo!" Martin started with this iconic line, then echoed Jolie's three statements: "I will not work on any film or television projects with Brad Pitt, I will not attend the same shows or award ceremonies as Brad Pitt, and I will not use any products endorsed by Brad Pitt!"
His plan and goals have been achieved; now he just needs to go with the flow.
From beginning to end, Martin never considered what would happen if he were the first to jump out.
After the interview, Martin returned to the lounge.
Bruce handed over the phone and said, "Leonardo called."
Martin called back: "Did you need something?"
"Are you still part of the trio?" Leonardo DiCaprio seemed to be accusing the scumbag. "Have you forgotten everything you promised me?"
Martin, who had recently become a good guy after playing Dou Dizhu (a popular Chinese card game), couldn't remember what kind of scoundrels the trio were up to: "I haven't forgotten, have I?"
Leonardo was furious: "You're obsessed with Jolie and Aniston now, have you forgotten about me and old Jack? You're so fickle!" He reminded him, "My movie 'Blood Diamond' is coming out soon."
Martin suddenly realized: "Don't worry, I'll definitely be at the premiere."
Leonardo's anger subsided immediately: "I'll have someone send the invitation to your agency."
The formal invitation process for the premiere still needs to be followed.
As Martin left and got into his car, Thomas called to tell him that he had received an invitation from Leonardo DiCaprio.
He also mentioned something else: "When I received the invitation, I was in talks with Simone and Filippo of Brioni about an endorsement deal, and they said they would sponsor your red carpet gowns from now on."
Martin, of course, wouldn't refuse such a kind offer: "Sure, I'll have time tomorrow morning and go to their store on Rodeo Drive."
The premiere of Blood Diamond is in two days, so there's definitely no time for a custom-made suit, but with Martin's physique, it's easy to find a suitable one among ready-to-wear clothes.
The following morning, while Martin was choosing a formal suit, he received a call from Georgina Chapman.
"Hi Martin, my fashion party is all set, can you come?" Georgina extended a very enthusiastic invitation: "You can bring your friends too."
Martin asked about the time and said, "No problem, I'll definitely be there on time."
Georgina said, "I'll have someone send you invitations right away." She knew Martin was rising to fame rapidly and was entangled with several actresses: "There's no limit to the number of invitations; you can bring as many people as you want."
"Okay," Martin replied. "I'll definitely be there to support you."
Aniston, who was helping Martin choose clothes, saw him hang up the phone and asked, "Georgina? She invited you to a fashion party?"
Martin explained simply, "Actually, I came for you and Angie. She wants me to invite you to the event. She has started a women's fashion brand that targets the high-end market and wants to sponsor actresses to walk the Oscars red carpet."
Aniston nodded slightly, but was very curious: "I remember Georgina Chapman was Harvey Weinstein's wife, and you had a very bad relationship with Harvey."
"It has nothing to do with Harvey," Martin said briefly. "Georgina and Kate Winslet are very close friends. Kate and I were friends when we were in Atlanta, and Kate invited me to the event."
Aniston thought for a moment and said, "I have clothing endorsements, so it's not appropriate for me to attend events for other brands."
On the way back, Martin called Julie again. Julie was going to spend the New Year in Southeast Asia with her son and daughter.
Our Lady is about to begin a new round of efforts to save refugees around the world.
Her homeland has been continuously helping her create refugees.
…………
Ahead of the new weekend, Blood Diamond held a small premiere in Los Angeles.
As a member of the trio of bastards, Martin certainly wouldn't miss out.
He walked very discreetly across the premiere red carpet and entered the theater.
The number of ordinary audience members attending the premiere was limited; most were industry insiders, critics, and media reporters.
Outside the theater, a large number of protesters from the diamond industry gathered.
Nobody cares because Hollywood films have faced too many protests.
From the media to movie fans, everyone has long been numb to it.
Martin entered the theater and saw Kate Winslet. He opened his arms and hugged her, saying, "You're still so beautiful."
Kate laughed and said, "You're still so good with words."
Martin laughed and said, "I'm a very honest person; I always tell the truth."
Jack Nicholson suddenly appeared from behind and said, "I hope I'm not interrupting you?"
Martin sighed, "Knowing you'd be disturbing us, why did you still come over and interrupt?"
Kate nodded to Nicholson and said, "You two talk."
After she left, Nicholson said, "I heard from a friend that the movie you starred in had a very explicit scene."
Martin said, "Normally, it's not as extreme as what you've done."
Nicholson automatically changed the subject: "Pete's been in pretty bad shape. I saw in the newspapers that you also issued a statement?"
"It's an inevitable trend," Martin shrugged. "They can't even clean up their messes properly because they used force."
Nicholson agreed: "When it comes to fancy moves, he's nowhere near as good as me, Warren Beatty, or even Leo and you."
Martin objected: "Don't lump me in with you freaks."
Nicholson seemed not to hear him and continued, "Because we all believe in mutual consent and don't force others, when we get together to play, it's not just the men who have fun, but the women do too."
Martin agreed: "I never expected that you, you bastard, could have such a clear understanding."
"Do you think I'm a psychopath like Marlon Brando?" Nicholson said, sounding like a gentleman.
But as soon as he finished speaking, a girl walked quickly over from nearby and greeted him, "Jack, I've been looking for you everywhere. So you've come here."
Martin glanced at him briefly. The other person was about seventeen or eighteen years old, with an average appearance, but looked very familiar.
After a moment's thought, Martin remembered that Jennifer Lawrence was once known as "Big Cousin" on the internet across the Pacific.
Nicholson then introduced the two: "Jenny, this is Martin, my best friend. Martin, this is Jennifer Lawrence, whom I mentioned to you when we were filming in New York."
Martin shook her hand lightly and said a few polite words.
Lawrence said, "Jack, weren't you going to introduce me to the producers?"
Nicholson said, "Don't rush, I've arranged a role for you in an American TV series. We have to take it one step at a time." He pointed behind him, "Go take a look around first, I have things to do here."
Lawrence left reluctantly.
Because of the Hollywood eye patch scandal, Martin had some memory of her; it seemed that she had slept with Nicholson in the early stages and later hooked up with Harvey Weinstein.
When we were discussing that famous photo of washing your face with milk in our group chat in our past life, we even speculated whether the person taking the photo was Harvey.
After they had walked away, Martin asked, "Will Leo and I be going to bail you out again in a while?"
Nicholson understood what he meant and said, "She's not even 17. I'm not stupid."
Leonardo came up from behind and interjected, "Martin, we won't bail this bastard out; we'll just cut ties with him."
Nicholson sighed, "I thought the face gang and the foot gang were different, but they're all the same."
Martin laughed: "Even if Leo doesn't bail you out, I will."
"Aren't you afraid I'll run away?" The old bastard deliberately asked a tricky question.
Martin said with deep emotion, "I believe you'll miss me and Leo."
Nicholson said, "The only team I'll miss is the Lakers."
"Come on, come on, let's go sit in the front row." Leonardo gestured for the two to move forward. Seeing that no one was around, he whispered, "Ambrosio's bachelor party is on time for the Christmas holidays. She's planning to rent a small island in the Caribbean."
Martin's gaze shifted to Nicholson.
Leonardo stared intently at him.
Nicholson grumbled, "You two bastards want me to pay again? You two are just freeloading..."
Martin said, "I'll decide the party theme."
Leonardo said, "I got in touch with the party."
Nicholson, caught up in his conscience, thought: "I can't just issue a J, can I?"
Martin patted Nicholson on the shoulder and went to his seat.
