Chapter 371 Good Deeds

As night fell, Peach Tree Street was completely closed off, and several specially made Batmobiles drove onto the street, including two uniquely designed Batmobiles.

As a proponent of practical effects, Nolan requires that all nighttime street scenes be filmed at night.

Martin, with makeup on, stepped out of the trailer and swaggered into the film set.

Nolan called Martin and Bale together and gave them some instructions: "There will be a lot of action scenes today. Don't insist on using stunt doubles when necessary, and prevent any accidents from happening."

Martin, who was very concerned about his own safety, immediately said, "I'm fine."

Bale said, "I'll follow the crew's instructions."

Nolan looked at Martin and asked, "Are you proficient in using various weapons?"

Martin looked at Bell and said, "I'm proficient in using pistols, rifles, submachine guns, shotguns, and sniper rifles. My marksmanship is also pretty good; I've won a community tournament."

He specifically added, "Including rocket launchers."

Upon hearing the last sentence, Bell's eyes widened, and he stared intently at Martin.

He remembered very clearly that the British police had informed him that Nicholson and Streep had used homemade firework rocket launchers welded from steel pipes to set off fireworks at Pinewood Studios.

Nolan nodded: "The Joker will have a rocket launcher during filming."

"No problem." Martin grinned at Bell, "I even made a rocket launcher and gave it to Nicholson."

Bell felt a wave of discomfort below, as if being torn apart again. The anger he had been holding back since Pinewood Studios suddenly erupted: "You bastard, I'm going to..."

Nolan turned his gaze and it fell on Bell.

Bell's taut muscles instantly stiffened, and he stood frozen like a statue.

Nolan frowned. What's wrong with Bell?

He had envisioned the two main characters going from being at odds in their roles to being at odds in real life, in order to create a marketing buzz, but Martin didn't say anything, so Bale was about to lose control.

Bale's strong recommendation of Heath Ledger left a very bad impression on Nolan.

At this moment, Nolan realized for the first time that he had misjudged people; Bell was completely unreliable.

Right outside the three people, the screenwriter was writing furiously.

"Martin, who plays the Joker, was always very friendly, often discussing issues with the director and Bale with a smile. Director Nolan trusted Martin a lot, but Bale was moody and often got angry with Martin over trivial matters, and their relationship was deteriorating..."

After finishing the discussion, Nolan left first to prepare for filming.

Bell stared at Martin, who smiled at him as the Joker would at Batman.

"You bastard, look what you've done!" Bell was furious.

Martin shrugged and said with a smile, "I don't understand what you mean."

Everyone else turned to look in their direction.

Compared to Martin, whose face was covered in clown paint, Bell still had some self-respect. He didn't say anything more, gave Martin a cold look, and left.

Martin then left as well.

The screenwriter also noted: "Martin always smiled at Bell, but Bell's attitude towards Martin got worse and worse."

Martin approached a car and familiarized himself with the vehicle.

Bruce and the prop masters came over with prop guns and distributed them to the actors.

Martin took a shotgun; the old-fashioned weapon was well-maintained.

Bruce said, "I've checked all the guns carefully, and there's nothing wrong with them."

Martin nodded slightly: "I can feel at ease when you're here."

"Did you provoke Bell just now?" Bruce asked. "I saw he was furious and wanted to hit someone."

Martin grinned. "I just gave him a little push. People always have to face a lot of choices. If you subtly seduce him, he'll be on the right track."

Bruce said, "Have some decency, or you'll piss him off."

Martin's smile widened: "He can beat up the Joker like Batman?"

Bruce felt he had grasped the crux of the matter: "Isn't this what you wanted? You're a terrible person, actually hoping someone will beat you up."

Martin didn't answer again, he just laughed heartily.

Filming quickly commenced, with the roar of engines, vehicles chasing each other through the streets, gunshots ringing out intermittently, and fireworks occasionally shooting into the sky.

Martin frequently got in and out of the vehicle during filming.

Howard, the representative of the completion guarantor, was watching the set closely, determined not to allow the main actors to take unnecessary risks.

With such a huge investment, if the film is not completed on time, the firefighters' fund insurance company will face massive claims.

Martin didn't want to be blacklisted by third-party guarantors and fully cooperated with the production team's safety controls.

Filming continued until just before dawn. The main crew members left, and a professional cleaning company came in and quickly cleaned up the trash on the street. By the time it was light, Taoshu Street had returned to its normal state of traffic.

The crew began working with their days and nights reversed, with most of the outdoor scenes being filmed at night.

The noise from filming on Peach Tree Street every night quickly drew complaints and police reports.

But it's a bit difficult to handle.

On the one hand, Atlanta and Georgia are promoting the development of the film and television industry, and they dream of bringing in mega-productions like this.

On the other hand, most of the extras came from Jerome's Marietta agency, but the roles played by the PDs were mostly played by the APDs.

Lately, the greatest pleasure for APDs has been coming to the film set after get off work to act as background figures.

Some people also came to visit the set, especially Martin, who has too many friends in Atlanta.

That evening, Sofia, who had invested in the film crew through Pacific Pictures, also came to Peach Tree Street.

With the investor credentials provided by Pacific Films, Sofia entered the set during breaks in filming.

She was wearing shorts and a short-sleeved T-shirt, and her explosive muscles attracted the attention of many people on the set.

She stood at the edge of the filming location, her gaze sweeping across like radar before quickly landing on Martin.

Martin's face was covered in white paint, a gaping maw with a sinister smile, and his oversized suit made him look incredibly ugly.

Martin wasn't exactly Sofia's type to begin with, and now she's completely lost interest.

Sofia discovers that the guy playing opposite Martin is probably in great shape, and with his specially made bat suit, he looks like a bodybuilder.

Scott swaggered up from behind and handed the pink water bottle to Sophia.

When the director yelled "Cut!" from a distance, Sofia took a sip of water through a straw and said, "Let's go see Martin."

The two arrived at the crew's rest area.

Martin saw Sofia and greeted her, "Hi, Sofia, good evening."

Bruce quietly backed away, but couldn't find a wall to hide his backside.

"You look awful," Sofia said to Martin first, then turned to Bruce, "Bruce, if you back up any further you're going to bump into the camera."

Bruce glanced back and saw the IMAX camera right behind him. He quickly stopped and gave an awkward laugh.

Martin laughed heartily: "Old Brooks will always remember how good you were to him."

Sofia laughed too, but her face looked all fleshy as she laughed: "Martin, I'm good to Old Brooks, how could I be bad to you? Tell me, and I'll be good to you."

Martin's smile vanished abruptly, his white paint and frenzied expression frozen on his face.

What clowns are compared to the female warrior?

Sofia then asked, "Was that Christian Bale you were acting opposite just now?"

Upon hearing this question, Martin immediately realized that Sofia might have developed an interest in that guy Bell.

Of course, Martin, always eager to do good deeds, said, "That's right, it's Bell."

He praised him without hesitation: "He prepared for more than four months to play Batman, actively gaining weight and working out. He's an absolute muscle man."

Sofia listened to Martin's words, but her eyes were also busy, searching for Bell's whereabouts.

Martin added, "Bell also has an extraordinary ability: he can lose weight whenever he wants, gain weight whenever he wants, and become a muscular man whenever he wants."

Sofia became increasingly interested and nodded frequently.

Martin resumed his maniacal grin: "One person can do the work of several, and you can even customize them! Isn't that fun?"

Bruce found a metal chair and sat down, thinking to himself, "That bastard Martin is inhuman!"

Sofia couldn't wait any longer: "Come on, introduce Bell to me."

Normally, someone should have introduced Sophia to Bell, but Martin's relationship with Sophia wasn't a secret, so he simply took Sophia himself to where Bell was resting.

Bale was on the phone in his break room: "Honey, you're coming to Atlanta next week? Great, I'll pick you up from the airport. Do you want to watch me film on set? Of course!"

His wife, Sibby Blacchik, is coming to Atlanta to visit him on set.

As Bell put away his phone after hanging up the call, he noticed that repulsive, pale face swaying towards him, followed by a woman with an exceptionally muscular build.

This woman must be a fitness fanatic; her muscles are way more exaggerated than his.

Martin approached, a gaping, blood-red grin spreading across his pale face: "Hi, Bale, this friend of mine is a fan of yours and wanted to get to know you and maybe take a picture with you."

Bell frowned: "I don't think it's necessary."

The screenwriter following Martin immediately took notes: "Including Bale, Martin always obliged any member of the crew who brought fans over for photos or autographs. When Martin brought a fan to take a photo with Bale, Bale looked displeased and refused outright, escalating the conflict between the two."

Who was Sofia? He didn't care about Bell's identity and walked straight over, introducing himself: "Hello, Bell, I'm Sofia."

Bell nodded: "Hello."

Martin said no more and quietly left the place alone.

Having always been good at doing good deeds, he wouldn't be a third wheel.

When he returned to his rest area and sat down, Sofia was already chatting with Bell.

Bell said no, but his actions betrayed his words.

Fitness enthusiasts probably have a lot in common.

Martin watched with great interest. Now that the seeds were planted, he wondered if they would bloom.

For example, flowers bloom and blood flows, and people are kind-hearted and compassionate.
