Chapter 403 Another female student arrived.
In the set's rest area, Martin sat in a chair watching the other actors perform. Saoirse Ronan, carrying a small digital camera, quietly ran over and sat down next to him.
The two could only speak after the director yelled "cut".
Saoirse picked up her camera and took two photos of the film set.
Martin asked, "Can you take pictures?"
"I talked to David, and he's a very nice guy, much easier to talk to than you are." Saoirse blurted out her true feelings without thinking, and since she couldn't take them back, she simply pretended nothing had happened and continued, "David allowed me to film as long as it didn't interfere with the crew's work, but the photos are not allowed to be leaked."
Martin glanced at her: "God is so unfair."
Saoirse understood: "Being cute makes it easy to get preferential treatment, like Emma Watson."
"Stop, stop!" Martin felt an unsettling aura wafting from that name. "Can we please not mention Miss Know-It-All?"
Saoirse seemed to be taking credit: "I'm very good at keeping secrets; I haven't mentioned this to anyone."
Martin cautioned, "If she finds out it was you, you'll be in endless trouble." He added solemnly, "Remember this: you don't need to leave your name to do good deeds."
"I understand." Saoirse suddenly stood up and gave Martin a ladylike curtsy. "I always learn a lot from chatting with you."
Like Elle Fanning, these girls who have been in the entertainment industry since a young age are more likely to mature early because of their exposure to the world. Saoirse, being intelligent, followed up on what had just been said and asked seriously, "Martin, can you be my teacher?"
Martin looked Saoirse up and down, and then thought of certain people and events: "I had a female student."
Saoirse tossed her loose braid behind her head and asked, "Do you know who it is?"
Martin waved his hand: "There's no need for that."
Saoirse, however, was set on Martin: "I hope to be mentored by a handsome, mature, wise, and upright person so that I can have a better future."
Martin glanced at Bruce and casually said, "I can teach you photography."
Saoirse was puzzled, but she knew it wasn't easy to establish a connection with Martin; their interaction at Pinewood Studios must have played a role. She immediately said, "I've always wanted to find a photography teacher."
Martin just said it casually and didn't take it to heart at all: "I'll tell you what the true essence of photography is when I have time."
Saoirse's agent then called out, "Saoirse, get ready to go on stage."
"You go ahead with your work, teacher." Saoirse Ronan quickly entered the set.
Bruce stepped forward and said softly, "This girl has a sweet tongue. Besides being a troublemaker, she can chat with anyone on set. Even David Fincher speaks highly of her."
Martin felt that Old Brooks' description sounded very familiar and asked, "I have a feeling that the people you're describing are people I know."
Bruce uttered a single word: "You!"
Martin suddenly realized, "No wonder."
Bruce said in a low voice, "Was your last student Angelina Jolie?"
Martin nodded: "I think I taught pretty well."
"You taught well," Bruce said bluntly, "and even got into bed."
The crew then began filming, and Martin and Bruce stopped talking.
Daisy in her youth, as portrayed by Saoirse Rothschild, is as agile as a butterfly, flitting about in the nursing home.
After filming the scene was completed, Bruce said, "Although she's overly voyeuristic, judging from the diaper incident, she's quite clever."
Martin laughed: "A cute fourteen or fifteen-year-old girl, who can swallow her pride and beg to be my student, is more than just a little clever."
His thoughts then wandered: "Since Saoirse was an actress in the film crew, she must have known I was the male lead. Did she really just happen to be passing by that noon and bump into us?"
Bruce said, "She's someone we've known before, so we can strike up a conversation if we bump into each other."
Seeing the assistant director approaching, Martin grabbed his cane: "Enough talk, it's my turn to go on stage."
Upon entering the film set, Saoirse Ronan came over to help him, saying, "Teacher."
Martin listened to the assistant director's instructions and went over the blocking with Saoirse twice before filming began.
After several scenes were filmed, the studio door opened, and Cate Blanchett, the leading lady of the film, walked in.
Her expression was solemn, and her already cold face showed no emotion whatsoever.
David Fincher sighed inwardly. Just when things were starting to settle down with Shia LaBeouf, another unstable factor appeared. He was really giving them a headache.
But he would continue filming even if the actors he personally selected were injured or bleeding.
Fearing trouble, David Fincher left his director's seat and went to greet her, saying, "Hi, Kate, you're here."
Blanchett smiled at Fincher: "When can I schedule a role? I'm available to work anytime."
David Fincher said, "I have a plan, and I'll let you know when the time comes."
Remembering her agent's instructions before she arrived, Blanchett specifically said, "David, don't worry, I'll focus all my energy on my work."
David Fincher breathed a sigh of relief; with one side of the confrontation willing to back down, things would be much easier to handle.
"Looking forward to your brilliant performance." He nodded slightly.
Back in the director's seat, David Fincher gave the order, and filming resumed.
Blanchett stood on the edge, watching Martin's performance with the unfamiliar young actor, forcing herself to remain calm.
That young actor seems very talented, and his acting skills appear quite good.
Upon seeing this, Blanchett suddenly felt that the other person looked familiar, as if she had seen him at Pinewood Studios.
She suddenly remembered that before entering the pine forest with Bell, she had spotted a little girl strolling by the roadside, and it seemed to be this girl.
That pine forest!
Blanchett pressed one hand to her chest, as if hypnotizing herself, and silently repeated, "Don't think about the pine forest, don't think about the pine forest."
After filming several more scenes, David Fincher announced a temporary break.
Martin and Saoirse came out of the film set together.
Saoirse spotted Blanchett immediately, showing remarkable awareness. She lowered her voice and said, "Teacher, Blanchett, whom we worked with at Pinewood Studios, is here."
Martin, gripping his cane, glanced at her.
Saoirse's voice lowered even further: "I'm right. It was you, me, and Leonardo who planted the bombs together. Together, we severely injured Bale and Blanchett."
She volunteered, "Teacher, should I keep an eye on her and take a picture when she flirts with someone again?"
Martin asked, "Do you do this often?"
"No, I was just taking pictures randomly for fun," Saoirse said seriously. "Last time at Pinewood Studios, someone took photos and videos of the diaper incident and sold them to a Fleet Street tabloid for tens of thousands of pounds."
She clapped her hands loudly: "If I could take a picture like Blanchett's, I could not only help the teacher punish her severely, but also sell it to make money to buy the teacher some gifts."
The two returned to their rest area. Martin had just sat down when Saoirse snatched the water bottle from Bruce's hand and, like a lackey, offered it to Martin: "Teacher, have some water."
After Martin finished drinking the water, she asked again, "Was my idea feasible?"
Martin handed the water bottle to Bruce: "You've become a self-taught genius."
"No, no, it was mainly others who inspired me." Saoirse recalled Pinewood Studios and the diaper scandal, her eyes wide and mouth agape, but she spoke in a barely audible voice, "When I met you and Old Brooks, you were riding your electric scooter from the Harry Potter set, you wouldn't..."
Martin, of course, didn't answer directly, saying, "I remember Leonardo telling you that knowing too much can get you silenced."
Saoirse widened her eyes, shut her mouth, craned her neck, and leaned back, trying to get her vital organs away from Martin, but her buttocks were sitting next to his, and she refused to move no matter what.
Martin said, "It's okay to fool around, just don't cause trouble. You're just a child star."
Saoirse listened attentively and nodded repeatedly.
"Someone's coming," Bruce warned.
Martin and Saoirse took the initiative to end the conversation and turned to look at each other.
In the dimly lit photography studio, a black cloth floated over like a ghost.
Although Saoirse was young, with Martin and Bruce backing her up, she picked up the cane that was standing to the side and swung it to hit the ghost.
A voice came from inside the black cloth: "Don't hit me! Don't hit me, it's me, Shia!"
Saoirse nodded to Martin, gestured with her cane towards the black cloth, and sat back down.
Shia LaBeouf removed the messy cloth from her head, got off the scooter covered by the black cloth, and said to Saoirse, "She looks like a cute little girl, but she's touching me inappropriately. She's not right in the head."
Martin interrupted his rambling: "Get to the point!"
Shia LaBeouf asked, "Would this impress Jack Nicholson?"
Martin waved his hand: "Too far off."
Shia LaBeouf deflated like a punctured balloon: "I'll think of another way."
He got up and left: "This doesn't seem right. I need to think of a normal way to handle this."
After they had walked a distance, Saoirse asked, "Is he going to do performance art again?"
Martin shook his head: "Ignore him, just watch it as a show."
Saoirse couldn't understand, but that didn't stop her from watching the spectacle: "I don't have many scenes, but I asked my mom to negotiate with the crew so that I can stay on set for a few more days after filming to observe and learn."
Martin wouldn't interfere with other people's freedom: "Whatever."
As the film crew was about to wrap up, Cate Blanchett left the studio first, where her agent, Helda Quirley, was waiting for her.
"How is it?" Quirley asked.
Blanchett said, "Martin has been filming and hasn't had a chance to speak to me alone. We'll talk when he finishes work."
Quirley reiterated the importance of the matter: "All of this seems to be caused by Nicholson, but I've done a thorough investigation. Nicholson is semi-retired and has no direct conflict with you and Bell. Who is the person who is really in conflict with the two of you and is closest to Nicholson? Martin Davis."
She emphasized, "Martin's status has risen, and he's an American with deep ties to the Coca-Cola Group. We can't compete with him. Kate's initiative to back down and make peace has far more advantages than disadvantages."
