Chapter 464 Don't Hit Someone in the Face

Chapter 464 Don't Hit Someone in the Face

At a Los Angeles country club, a drunken Brad Pitt met producer David Larter, who had invited him, in a meeting room.

The latter stated his purpose directly: "Pitt, I would like to invite you to star in a movie as the male lead."

Pitt swept his long blond hair back, and because he hadn't washed it in a long time, his hands shimmered under the light as he lowered them.

Across from him sat David Larter, a former executive at Village Roadshow Pictures who had worked on the production of The Matrix series. Pitt knew him before: "I heard you left Village Roadshow Pictures and started a film company with some partners?"

Rattle stated, "Sanctuary Pictures, independent production and distribution."

Having fallen on hard times, Pitt couldn't help but laugh self-deprecatingly: "You just said you wanted me to be the male lead?"

"Of course!" Larter pulled out the script and handed it to Pete: "Definitely the male lead!"

Pitt glanced at the script, and the title on it was "Titanic"!

No, there's another number 2 in the middle.

Pete, completely bewildered, asked, "You got the rights to a sequel?"

"No authorization is needed; the name Titanic isn't exclusive to any particular movie," Rattle explained. "This isn't a movie sequel, but rather a story about a second Titanic built after the Titanic sank, which set sail from England for North America..."

Even if Pitt was down on his luck and drunk, he still thought it was unreliable after hearing it.

Even "unreliable" doesn't do it justice.

Larter valued Pete's reputation highly, even infamy was still reputation, and besides, the films he made were quite special: "The investment in Titanic II reached the highest level since the establishment of Vault, $500,000! The films we invested in before were capped at $250,000."

Pete suddenly remembered: "This isn't Spartacus, Transformation Era, or 100 Million Years Prehistoric—you guys filmed all of those?"

Latt laughed and replied, "That's right, they're all masterpieces from Sanctuary Pictures."

There was a saying on the internet about Martin's past: the most tragic thing in the world is spending hours downloading a 2GB movie, only to find out it's a knock-off blockbuster made by Sanctuary Pictures.

Pete rubbed his face, wondering if he had really fallen to this level.

But he needed money: "What about the paycheck?"

"$5," Ratt said.

"What?" Pete thought he'd misheard. "Are you kidding me? $5?"

After a moment of silence, Larter said, "I can only give you $10 at most; that won't be enough for the production costs."

Without saying a word, Pete got up and left.

This is an insult to him!

The door to the meeting room opened and closed again. Rattle shook his head and sighed, "Does he still think he's a Hollywood star? Other companies wouldn't even give him $3."

Pete didn't linger outside the door for a moment. He went straight out of the country club and into the parking lot. When he saw the slightly worn BMW, he stopped again.

Pitt actually has some assets, but he needs money to activate them, and the problem is that he doesn't have any cash on hand.

Even small banks were unwilling to lend him money, seemingly convinced that he was doomed to bankruptcy.

This role is worth $10.

Pitt wanted to go back, but the pride he had cultivated as a superstar over the past two decades wouldn't allow him to turn back.

Suddenly, a middle-aged man in a suit and tie came over and ended Pete's self-embarrassment.

He asked, "Are you Brad Pitt?"

Pete didn't recognize him: "Who are you?"

The man quickly reached out to shake hands with Pete, only to find his hand covered in greasy hair.

He withdrew his hand and discreetly wiped it on his pants, saying, "My name is Björkman, I'm an agent. I heard CAA terminated your contract?"

You shouldn't hit someone in the face; Pitt looked displeased.

Björkman quickly replied, "I didn't mean anything by it, I just wanted to introduce you to a job and see if we could work together."

Pete, who had just missed out on some money, instinctively asked, "What kind of job?"

Björkman immediately pulled out his business card and handed it to Pitt: "A big-budget film, you're the absolute male lead. If you're willing to join, I guarantee a minimum salary of $500 million, maybe even more!"

Such a salary would have been unthinkable for Pitt in the past, but now, upon hearing it, he was extremely tempted and asked, "Which company? Which film project?"

Björkman said, "We are the largest and most powerful company in Saint Valley. You can choose the projects, write the plots, or even direct and act in them yourself."

Although Brad Pitt has been practically given a death sentence by Hollywood, his Saint Valley films are sure to be huge hits once they hit the market.

"You actually..." Pete exclaimed inexplicably, filled with grief and indignation, "You actually wanted me to do this kind of work!"

Björkman was displeased: "This is legal, artistic work, and very popular with North American audiences!"

Pete instinctively raised his fist.

Björkman looked up and waited for Björkman's fist to land on his face; such a good opportunity didn't come around often.

Pete held back, got into the car, slammed the door shut, and sat in the driver's seat without saying a word.

Björkman said nothing more and left. He thought the two might meet again, since Pete was so angry that he hadn't thrown away his business card.

In the car, Pete seemed lost for a while before unconsciously opening the armrest box and putting his business card inside.

…………

In early October, Cartier and Martin held a grand signing ceremony at the Los Angeles Music Center, officially appointing Martin as the brand ambassador for Cartier men's watches.

In front of numerous media cameras and fans, Martin removed his old watch and put on a brand new Cartier watch.

He then signed the symbolic endorsement agreement.

The audience erupted in near-frenzied applause.

A dozen or so blonde girls with clown-painted faces suddenly rushed into the aisle in the middle of the stands, shouting, "Martin, I love you!"

Martin waved to them from the stage.

These girls all pulled up their red t-shirts, revealing a large expanse of snow-white skin, on which two lines of large words were written in red lip gloss: "I love Martin!"

Security guards rushed over.

Martin suddenly remembered that when The Dark Knight was first released, there was a group of girls who not only danced wildly in front of his house, but also fought over the trash.

Regardless, these are all his fans.

Martin shouted, "Don't make things difficult for them."

The girls started chanting again, "Martin! Martin!"

The scene was chaotic again.

Martin had said what he needed to say, so he simply stopped talking.

Bruce rushed over and, after speaking with the security personnel, the dozen or so girls were asked to leave the hall.

When Toni, the leader, saw Bruce, she was very excited: "You're Martin's manager? I saw you fighting alongside Martin at Burbank High School, that's so cool!"

Bruce replied, "A lot of people died. It's not cool at all."

Toni paused for a moment, then said, "Could Martin sign for us?" She pointed to her chest, "Here, I'll get a tattoo when I get back."

Bruce said, "Martin doesn't have time today, let's talk another day."

Tony wouldn't give up: "Did you move away from Sherman Oaks? We've kept watch there many times, but we've never seen you come out."

Another girl blurted out, "We've been waiting for your trash for so many times, but we've never seen you throw away a single bag."

Bruce felt his brain couldn't keep up with these girls who were obsessed with their idol, so he could only say, "Martin has moved to a new place. Sorry, I have work to do and have to go."

After he finished speaking, he winked at the security guard next to him.

Security personnel immediately came to stop him, and Bruce took the opportunity to slip away.

Watching the people leave, the girls could only straighten their clothes and leave the music center.

As Elsa walked, she asked, "What do we do now? Martin has moved."

The quick-witted girl retorted, "Without trash, there are no condoms, no genetic material, and how would we get pregnant with Martin's child?"

This was a difficult problem, and the sisters were all frowning with worry.

Toni stopped and looked back, seeing the huge poster of Martin. She said, "Sisters, think about it, if the Joker faced a problem like this, how would he solve it?"

Elsa pondered for a moment and said, "At all costs, to achieve our goal?"

Toni called all her sisters over, forming a circle around them, and said, "As long as we don't give up, we'll achieve our goal someday."

Girls can be even more fanatical than men when they're chasing after celebrities.

The others readily agreed.

"We've made great progress this time, and it's caught Martin's attention," Toni said, recalling what had just happened. "He even told the security guards not to give us any trouble."

Elsa laughed and said, "Martin even glanced at me."

"You're clearly looking at me; yours isn't even that big."

"It's me!"

Just as the group was about to turn on each other, Toni quickly said, "I have a new idea that will definitely make Martin remember us."

Everyone else stared longingly at Toni.

After Tony reached a consensus, she said, "At Martin's next public event, we're not only going to wear clown makeup, but also wedding dresses, and we'll express our love to Martin together! Maybe he'll take a liking to one of us and go on a date with her..."

These blonde girls may not all be beauties, but they are tall, sexy, and incredibly alluring.

Toni emphasized, "Let me make this clear from the start: whoever is lucky enough to be invited by Martin and receives those things must immediately come out and share them with the other women!"

She looked around: "Those who betray their sisters will die a horrible death!"

The others chimed in, "Yes, those who betray their sisters deserve a terrible death!"

Toni waved her arm. "Come on, let's find a place to buy a wedding dress. We have to show Martin how much we love him!"

At the signing ceremony, Martin came down from the stage, went into the back lounge, shook hands with Cartier executives one by one, and then, with no further activities planned, prepared to leave.

Once in the car, Martin asked Bruce, "Are the girls okay?"

"It's alright, security just escorted them out, they weren't rough," Bruce said, sharing his first impression. "They were a bit fanatical, and if I'm not mistaken, they were the same group that robbed us of the trash last time."

Martin remembered and specifically reminded Bruce, "Don't just throw your condoms away carelessly, or you might end up becoming a father out of nowhere."

Bruce asked, "Is it really that crazy?"

Martin thought of some concerts from his past life and said, "There have been even crazier ones."
