Chapter 526 Time is on my side

In the late afternoon, Bruce received news that Porsche had delivered a Panamera with all the paperwork completed to his home. Martin simply went home early and wrote a check for the account manager who had come with the car.

The account manager carefully accepted the check and presented his business card with both hands: "Mr. Davis, if you need any vehicle, just give me a call, and I'll be there anytime."

Martin accepted it: "Okay."

Bruce opened the trunk of a car next to him, took out two boxes of gun oil, and carried them to the villa: "It's time to get the gun serviced."

Bruce has always been in charge of maintaining the guns in the house.

When Martin arrived at the villa, he dragged two abandoned boxes out of the basement, picked up the trash that Old Brooks had collected, and went out through the side door to throw away the garbage.

There's an alleyway between his house and Charlize Theron's house next door, and the trash cans are placed in that alleyway.

Martin threw away the trash and noticed that his trash can was slightly deformed, as if someone had kicked it. He couldn't help but wonder, "Who's so bored as to kick the trash can for fun? All the maids in the house are women; they wouldn't normally have that much strength."

He glanced at it a couple more times and was just about to leave when the side door next door opened.

Stuart Townsend came out carrying two garbage bags.

He was taken aback when he saw Martin.

Martin greeted him, "Hi Stu, it's been a long time since I've seen you and Sally."

Hearing Charlize's name come out of Martin's mouth, Stewart felt a surge of annoyance, and scenes from the Cannes Film Festival flashed before his eyes.

He stated directly, "Sally isn't in Los Angeles; she's been away filming for a long time."

Martin slapped his forehead: "Right, I think I heard her mention her in Cannes. Oh, my terrible memory, sorry."

Stewart's gaze fell on the two garbage bags he was carrying, and he really wanted to throw them at Martin's head.

But in the end, I only dared to think about it.

He had seen videos of Burbank High School and Santa Monica Pier and knew that the man on the other side was a cruel and tyrannical bastard who would kill someone at the slightest provocation!

Stewart suspected that if he threw the garbage bag at him, giving Martin Davis a reason to defend himself, the other man might pull out a gun.

Neighbors like that are a man's ultimate nightmare.

He's handsome, famous, rich, and damn good at fighting!

Stewart, not daring to give the other a legitimate reason to defend himself, strode forward. Passing Martin, he finally couldn't help but say, "Stay away from Sally from now on. She's my girlfriend!"

Martin looked at Stewart with slight surprise. Was this guy crazy?

Stuart said sternly, "If you dare to bother Sally again, I will..."

The first half of his statement was full of momentum, but the second half automatically weakened: "I'll leak this to the media and ruin your reputation!"

"You've got it wrong, Sally and I are just friends." Martin said this with complete confidence, stating that he had never done anything to Charlize Theron.

Stuart stared coldly at Martin: "Stop making excuses. Do you dare to do it but not admit it?"

Martin, projecting his own suspicions onto the other party, wondered if they were trying to sell news or spread dirt on him, but still said, "It's really nothing. You can bring Sally over, and we'll confront them face to face."

Stuart didn't believe it at all, and threw the garbage bag into the trash can.

Perhaps too much force was used, because the garbage bag opened, revealing a used condom...

Martin glanced at the trash can, then at Stuart, and frowned as he asked, "You just said Sally has been away filming for a long time?"

Stewart panicked for a moment because Charlize Theron had cheated on him, and he had no choice but to endure it if he wanted to maintain his current luxurious lifestyle.

But his infidelity gave Charlize Theron a legitimate reason to break up with him.

Absolutely not!

Stewart, also an actor, was inwardly panicked but outwardly remained calm, loudly proclaiming, "I'm watching Saint Valley movies and masturbating by myself, and it's the Saint Valley version of 'Limitless'!"

As he spoke, he turned around and, as was his habit, kicked the Martin family's trash can, making a dull thud.

The trash can is slightly recessed inwards.

Martin finally understood why his trash can had deformed; it turned out Stuart had kicked it.

After Stuart finished kicking, he saw Martin's cold gaze, didn't say a word, and quickly walked towards the side door.

Once inside, he dared to say, "If you get any closer to Sally, I'll leak your story to TMZ!"

Martin turned to look at him: "Do you know the consequences of framing me?" He suddenly laughed: "I'll make your accusations against me true."

Stuart pointed at Martin: "You..."

Martin ignored him and went home.

Martin was just joking to scare Stuart, but if Stuart really wanted to frame him, he wouldn't mind making the lie seem real.

Being neighbors with a guy whose girlfriend is a beautiful woman and who lives off her is really tough.

Martin considered himself a good neighbor and had never done anything inappropriate to Charlize Theron, yet he was framed.

So frustrating!

That's not how a person behaves.

Martin returned to the villa to help Old Brooks maintain his guns.

Before dinner, a Porsche drove back.

Martin went to the garage, waited for Elizabeth to get out of the car, and then pressed the remote control for the garage door lift.

As the roller shutter door rose, a brand-new Porsche appeared before Elizabeth.

Elizabeth covered her mouth with both hands, her face full of surprise. The car was her favorite Porsche, in her favorite red color, and its teardrop-shaped design was quite stylish.

"It's so beautiful." She lowered her hand, revealing a sweet smile that could dispel a storm and bring out the sun.

Martin handed her the car keys: "You can give it a try."

Elizabeth pulled Martin into the car: "Let's go for a drive in the hilltop park."

The two got into the car, which drove out of the manor gate and headed up the mountain.

Elizabeth asked curiously, "Is today some special day that you gave me such a gift?"

Martin was just like any other working person: "Because I got paid, I bought my girlfriend a gift."

Elizabeth shouted, "I love it!"

She was excited, but drove slowly, circled the mountaintop, and returned home.

After getting out of the car, Martin asked, "Where's Lily?"

"Busy with the exhibition," Elizabeth said roughly. "Lily has been stealing the show at the exhibition and has become a prominent artist in the media's eyes."

She didn't forget to boast to Martin: "I got Maria to support Lily, and it worked very well."

Martin chuckled. "You're just full of ideas."

Elizabeth replied, "Lily thinks more deeply about things."

After dinner, Martin, Bruce, and Elizabeth went to Kane's Angel Shooting Club.

Chad Stahelski and Marcus are designing some gunfight scenes here.

A dozen minutes later, producers Akiva Goldsman and Louise Meyer also arrived.

The group discussed the adaptation of Marcus's memoir, "The Lonely Survivor."

Funding from South Korea has been secured, and the script has long been completed; the only missing key position is that of director.

Akiva Goldsman previously recommended Peter Berg, a director he has worked with for a long time.

Louise and Marcus both spoke with the director and thought he was the right choice.

Martin then voted in favor.

This film was entirely funded by South Korean capital, so even if it ultimately loses money, Davis Studios can still collect a large management fee.

This is Hollywood's normal operating model, and it's legal and reasonable.

Martin doesn't plan to get involved in the casting process; he'll leave it to the production team to choose the actors themselves.

Marcus is already severely overweight and can't act, so we definitely can't let him play himself.

After discussing these matters, the group went to the shooting range to practice shooting.

Elizabeth wasn't interested in shooting, so she stayed.

Louise didn't leave either; the two ordered some drinks and sat down to chat.

They had been neighbors for many years and knew each other well.

"I remember when I first moved to Sherman Oaks, you were just a little kid." Louise had known the Olsen sisters for over a decade, and she looked at Elizabeth's chest. "You've grown so much in the blink of an eye."

Elizabeth said with a smile, "Sometimes after school, when no one was home, I would often go to your house for a free meal. It was also at your house that I first met Martin."

Louise suddenly laughed: "I never expected that fate would be so strange, that you would become Martin's girlfriend."

Elizabeth said, "Love is a wonderful thing. After Martin and I went through a life-or-death ordeal at Burbank High School, I fell in love with him."

She emphasized, "My parents gave me my first life, and Martin gave me my second."

"Yes, things always turn out so strangely. The little bartender and gigolo from Atlanta back then have become big stars in Hollywood." Louise's words were meaningful: "When I brought him to Hollywood, I never imagined he could achieve this."

Elizabeth smiled sweetly as always: "I'm still young, just 20 years old, and I'll be able to witness Martin achieve even more."

Louise smiled and shook her head: "I always thought you were a sweet, cute, and innocent girl."

Elizabeth knew that time was on her side. She put away her sweet smile and said very seriously, "Sister Louise, I have known you since I was very young. I have always regarded you as a role model and have always respected you."

"You really are a good girl, and Martin is a complete bastard," Louise admitted. "Don't worry, time is on your side."

Elizabeth smiled sweetly again.

Faint gunshots could be heard, and some people were cheering loudly.

Elizabeth had seen many guns at home and sometimes accompanied Martin outside to practice shooting; she was used to it.

After Louise left, she gradually drifted into thought, planning what kind of surprise she should use tonight to empty Martin's gun.

Elizabeth discussed this with her two older sisters, who suggested developing it step by step and always maintaining a certain level of novelty.

It's not a good thing to complete all the development too early.

Nearly an hour and a half later, Martin finally came out of the shooting range and called Elizabeth to go home together.

On the way, he received a call from Nolan.

Nolan told him to report to the film set early the next day to prepare for the location shooting in Los Angeles.
