Chapter 535 The True Face Behind the Mask

Chapter 535 The True Face Behind the Mask

The film crew was based in the 16th arrondissement. It was just getting dark on the weekend when Martin, Menez, and Ellen Page left their hotel in the same car.

Menez looked at Allen in surprise: "We're going to pick up girls!"

Allen, with his long hair tied in a bun and wearing a well-fitting black suit, said, "I'm going there to pick up girls too."

"You?" Mene's eyes widened.

Allen nodded: "Who says women can't date?"

"What a waste! Waste is shameful!" Having become more familiar with each other, Menez spoke more casually. He held up two fingers, his expression one of deep regret: "You've wasted two people at once!"

Allen said deliberately, "Which one do you like? Be careful, or I might snatch it from you."

Menez shook his head: "It's no use, you can't take it away."

He was brimming with confidence in this regard: "Don't even mention you, even the boss can't take it away from me."

Allen looked at Martin in surprise: "Is he bragging?"

"No, he wasn't bragging." Martin could readily accept his inferiority to Menez: "I really can't compete with Menez for the targets he's set his sights on."

Allen couldn't understand it and was full of questions.

Bruce drove to the villa area on the west side of the Bois de Boulogne park and approached a large villa with a courtyard.

Isabelle Huppert has been in the film industry for many years and is quite wealthy.

The four parked their car and arrived at the villa's entrance. Several men in suits guarding the door looked at the invitation, took out four gold masks with exposed mouths, and gestured for them to put them on.

A masked party, as the name suggests, is all about creating a mysterious atmosphere.

A man in a suit reminded them, "Please don't take off your mask before you leave."

Martin put on his mask, but took off his suit jacket and tossed it to Bruce. As he walked inside, he unbuttoned a shirt, revealing his well-fitting white shirt that accentuated his muscular physique, adding a touch of wildness to his otherwise gentlemanly demeanor.

In the courtyard, there were more than a dozen men and women, all wearing golden masks, making it impossible to see their true appearances.

Ellen Page spotted a petite woman in a red dress and said, "I'm going to go alone."

Martin waved his hand and went into the villa's hall with Mene.

Inside the spacious hall, there were twenty or thirty people. Most of the women were wearing well-fitting dresses, and their faces were covered by masks, but each of them had a good figure.

The men included some who were fat and some who were thin, and several of them looked quite old.

A woman in a sundress walked by, and Mene's gaze automatically turned to her. He said, "Boss, I'm leaving too."

"Go on." Martin was still looking for his target.

Bruce followed Menez's gaze and saw the woman in the sundress. He asked, "You know her?"

Menez said, "I took many photos of her inappropriately exposed areas on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet, especially the locations of those exposures. I studied them carefully and I'm absolutely certain I can't mistake them."

He clapped his fist: "Sophie Marceau, that's her."

Martin heard it too: "Good luck, old buddy."

Menez nodded and walked quickly in that direction.

Perhaps this guy really does have a special charm that attracts older women. By the time Martin's gaze swept around the hall and landed on Mene again, he was already chatting enthusiastically with the woman in the sundress.

A woman in a black and white floral dress, after carefully examining the faint outline of muscles protruding beneath Martin's shirt, quickly walked over and invited, "Let's have a drink together."

The woman spoke French, and Martin could understand simple sentences.

Masked parties are like opening blind boxes; if you don't know the other person, no one knows whose face is behind the mask.

However, these blind boxes involve a two-way selection process.

Martin smelled the woman's fragrance: Chanel No. 5 perfume.

Those two scoundrels, Leonardo DiCaprio and Nicholson, are experts in perfumes. Women who like Chanel No. 5 tend to be older and more mature.

Martin politely declined: "I'm sorry, ma'am, I don't want to drink right now."

The mask covered her face, preventing any embarrassment, and the woman didn't linger, moving on to her next target.

Martin wandered around the hall, during which four or five women came up to greet him, but he politely declined them all.

Judging from the size of her chest and the color of her skin, he could tell that Eva Green wasn't his primary target for the night.

"Hey, buddy." Suddenly a man came over and greeted him: "Alone?"

Martin shook his head and walked away.

Isabelle Huppert's party really had all sorts of people.

Finding no target in the lobby, Martin went to the backyard. As soon as he entered, he saw many people looking towards the third floor and turned to look in that direction as well.

On the third-floor balcony, a man and a woman were leaning against the railing, studying horse racing.

Because they were wearing the same gold masks, no one knew who they were.

The mask covers not only the face, but also a person's embarrassment and shame.

While everyone was distracted by the two people on the balcony, Martin quickly scanned the crowd and then fixed his gaze on a woman who had just come out of the side door.

The person was about 1.7 meters tall, with long brown hair draped behind a gold mask, and a blue dress that was stretched to a considerable height in the front and back.

Martin walked over there, and judging from her fair and delicate skin, based on his rich experience, she was about twenty-five years old.

The woman's golden mask also turned towards Martin.

The mask concealed her expression, but Martin could tell from her gestures that she seemed interested as well.

He recalled seeing "The Dreamers" many times, noting that Eva Green had brown hair, was about 1.7 meters tall, had a rather impressive bust, and was around 26 or 27 years old...

Martin took two glasses of wine from the tray carried by the waiter, strode over, and handed one to him: "Can I have a drink with you?"

The daughter reached out and took the wine, touched it lightly with Martin's, and took a small sip.

According to the party rules, you can't ask someone's name unless they agree to leave with you. Martin took a small sip of his drink; he didn't speak much French, so he asked, "Can you speak English?"

"Of course," the woman said with a smile. "Although I'm French, I've specifically practiced American English."

Suddenly, a strange cry rang out.

Martin and the woman turned their heads at the same time. On another balcony on the third floor, a woman in a red dress had her hands on the railing, and a golden mask was faintly visible behind her.

Perhaps provoked, the two people on the nearby balcony also started shouting.

On the balcony between the two couples, a third couple appeared.

The mask gave people immense courage.

There were seats by the pool in the backyard, and Martin gestured for them to sit down and enjoy the view: "Would you like to sit down and enjoy the view?"

The woman came over and naturally took his arm: "This party is definitely something special."

The two arrived at the poolside, found a two-seater, and sat down. Martin tentatively reached out and, seeing that the woman did not refuse, put his arm around her shoulder, and together they watched the show while building up the atmosphere.

The woman leaned against Martin, feeling his strong, powerful muscles, and suddenly reached out and touched his firm abs.

Martin also confirmed that the other party did not have a lining.

As for whether it's artificial or natural, with his experience, he can tell just by looking at it.

On the third floor opposite, three major plays were being performed by six actors, each one brilliantly executed.

People left the backyard one after another, and some entered the villa, possibly going up to the second or third floor.

Some people simply left the party.

After all, staying at the party means you can't take off your mask or find out who the other person is.

On that voluptuous body, there might be a face like Gordonburg's.

The vast majority of people tacitly abide by the rules.

Martin, enjoying the spectacle, exclaimed, "Isla Huppert truly deserves her title as France's foremost artistic goddess; the party she designed was incredibly creative and brimming with artistic flair."

The woman leaning against him said confidently, "Perhaps in another ten years or so, I will surpass Isabelle Huppert and become the number one French actress."

Martin turned his head and could only see the woman's confident eyes beneath her golden mask.

In such an artistic setting, the two looked into each other's eyes, leaned forward, and seemed about to kiss.

With a soft thud, the bulging noses of the two masks collided.

This damn mask is so intricately designed that kissing it won't be easy.

Martin extended his hand, inviting, "Shall we go somewhere else?"

The woman nodded slightly, pointed to the villa, and asked, "Inside, or on the balcony?"

Even though Martin was wearing a mask, he didn't want to be stared at, so he said, "Why don't we go find somewhere else?"

The woman didn't refuse; she stood up after him and said as she walked out, "You really want to know who I am?"

Martin didn't answer, but instead asked, "Don't you want to know who I am?"

The woman said, "I have some guesses, but it's not appropriate to guess here. Everyone at this party tacitly follows the rules."

Martin had a sudden inspiration: "Why don't we write down our answers after we go outside, and then see who guessed correctly when we take off our masks?"

"This game is interesting," the woman said. "Does the person who guesses correctly take the initiative?"

Martin, who excels in all directions and is a true all-rounder, said, "No problem."

The two left the backyard, crossed the front yard, arrived at the door, and went out the gate hand in hand.

Martin saw Bruce get into his car in the distance and was about to drive over when he asked the security guard at the entrance for a pen, saying, "Write your name on your palm?"

The woman took the pen, with the back of her left hand facing Martin, wrote a line on her palm, and then handed the pen back to Martin.

Martin also wrote his name on the palm of his left hand.

The pen was returned, and after a short wait, Bruce pulled up in his black sedan.

Martin opened the car door: "Get in."

The two got into the car one after the other, and Bruce raised the partition to separate the front and back seats.

Martin smiled and said, "The game begins."

The woman closed her eyes, clasped her hands together in prayer, and said, "I hope I'm not wrong, I hope my dream comes true."

She opened her eyes: "Ladies first, sir, please remove your mask."

Martin removed his mask and took it off.

The moment the woman saw Martin's face clearly, a radiant smile bloomed on her face, revealing his mouth and nose, which were no longer hidden by the mask: "It really was you! Isabelle Huppert wasn't exaggerating; she really did invite Martin Davis to the masquerade party!"

She opened her palm, and there was Martin's name written on it.

Martin feigned helplessness: "Am I that easily seen through?"

"Now I'll reveal my answer!" The woman removed her mask.

Martin recognized the face that appeared, but couldn't quite place it. It was definitely not Eva Green.

"Don't you recognize me?" The woman had a great figure, and at this moment she stood out even more, her chest out and waist tucked in. "I'm Léa Seydoux, an actress."
