Chapter 613 Shameless Remarks

In September, Leonardo and Nicholson, having had their fill of time in Europe, arrived in New York.

In the studio's entertainment area, Martin was startled to see Leonardo and said, "I thought high-intensity 100-meter sprints would help you lose weight, but you've only gained more."

Nicholson chimed in, "Don't you even consider that 11 seconds in the 100 meters..."

"I didn't last 11 seconds, you son of a bitch!" Leonardo DiCaprio roared. "Jack, stop slandering me!"

Nicholson nodded repeatedly: "Okay, I won't slander you. Let's calculate it as 17... no, 20 seconds for a 100-meter dash. How much energy do you expend in one go? Besides, most of the time you're on the bottom!"

Martin patted Leonardo on the shoulder sympathetically: "That doesn't mean you'll get fat."

He turned to Nicholson: "You don't look tired at all, not like someone who's been out partying for over a month."

He laughed heartily: "I'll laugh at him until he goes to meet God!"

"No, you're completely wrong. This should be said from a different angle." Nicholson put it another way: "That model and the star athlete were already getting along well at the Armani fashion show earlier this year, but I stole her away. Martin was stunned by this shameless remark: "Jack, you're a real genius! You should be writing press briefs for Obama at the White House!"

Leonardo asked Martin curiously, "What about your girlfriends? Did it end after one time?"

Leonardo nodded: "I understand. A wonderful experience leaves a lasting impression."

Martin snapped his fingers: "That's right. With their openness and generosity, throwing another party wouldn't be difficult if the conditions were right."

"Actually, I don't think the main reason is any of that," Nicholson, that bastard, dragged Martin into the river of ridicule. "Natalia's divorced from that guy, and those two younger women aren't anyone's wives or celebrities' fiancées—that's the key!"

Leonardo clapped and praised, "Jack, you got it!"

The two men gave Martin a sinister smile.

Martin glanced at those two smug faces and decided to retaliate, and his method was quite unusual: "Remember when I called you last time to ask about that Citroën and British actor Tom Hardy?"

Nicholson was the first to react: "I saw the reports in the local Paris media that Tom Hardy was robbed on the night of our party and was seriously injured."

Martin pointed to his buttocks: "This place was blessed by the people of District 93. They say it underwent several hours of stitching surgery."

He then pointed to Leonardo's mouth: "His teeth inside have been knocked out. As for why, you should know more about it than I do."

Leonardo DiCaprio said, "Robbers steal money and they also steal women!"

"No, no," Nicholson said, still thinking back, staring at Martin and asking, "You said you'd use this method to see if any of the women in the car were Yanzi, and then Tom Hardy in the Citroën really did have a problem. Was he robbed?"

Leonardo then realized what was going on: "Like you said, someone didn't want Tom Hardy bothering us, so they took care of him?"

Nicholson asked directly, "Martin, was there a swallow in the car at the time?"

Martin crossed his arms, leaned back on the sofa, and looked out the window: "Aren't swallows found in many places?"

Leonardo and Nicholson felt like a million ants were crawling all over them, making them incredibly itchy and unable to resist.

Nicholson spoke first: "I've had a glorious life, only to have a football star steal my thunder. It's utterly humiliating!"

Leonardo understood what he meant, and lowered his voice to a whisper, "I've already trained to 22 seconds in the 100 meters!"

Martin Chong's two best friends raised their fingers: "You are both honest and good people."

Nicholson asked, "Quickly, who is Swallow?"

Martin asked a blunt question: "Do either of you consider yourselves worth the effort of a swallow lurking nearby?"

Leonardo shook his head: "Unless they're interested in environmental protection."

Nicholson seized on the key point: "You believe Swallow is one of the four women who followed you?"

Martin nodded: "Very likely. In Russia's eyes, I, the leader of the Cola Cult, should be more valuable than you."

Nicholson admitted, "Your political value is greater than mine and Leo's combined."

Leonardo asked directly, "Are you sure which one it is?"

"I'm not sure." Martin thought for a moment and said, "Personally, I think Natalia is the least likely."

Leonardo DiCaprio said, "I've known Natalia for many years, it shouldn't be her."

Nicholson thought for a moment: "I've seen Natalia many times before, and based on my experience, she doesn't seem like a swallow."

Martin asked, "Have you ever seen a swallow?"

"No." Nicholson pointed to his eyes. "But whether someone is acting or not, I can't hide it from them."

Martin believed this, and he stood up and said, "I invited two people from this crew to come and film. Come and check it out."

Nicholson and Leonardo caught up with Martin.

The three left the entertainment area and walked to the training hall.

This space has long been rented by the film crew for their daily rehearsals and training.

Martin led the two directly up to the second floor, into an office, and to the glass window.

From here, the situation on the first floor is clearly visible.

Svetlana is practicing the action routines to be used during filming under the guidance of Chen Hu's assistant, a female stunt performer.

Nicholson asked, "What role does she play in the film?"

Martin said, "A female assassin, who has a few action scenes with me."

Nicholson stopped talking and stood quietly by the window, observing.

After a while, the training session paused, as if to take a break. He said, "Let's go downstairs. Ask her a few more questions about America and Russia."

Martin shrugged: "You're more like the FBI than the FBI agents themselves."

Nicholson followed him downstairs, saying as they walked, "Leo is about to play the biggest head of the FBI in history!"

Martin had heard of this man and asked Leonardo, "Are you going to play Hoover?"

Leonardo DiCaprio simply stated, "The Hoover story, directed by Clint Eastwood."

Martin asked, "For the Oscars?"

"A biopic, of course, is for the awards," Leonardo DiCaprio admitted. "I'm not confident this year; I'm preparing for next time."

Martin, on the contrary, felt this year was a good opportunity, as Harvey Weinstein could no longer manipulate the Oscars: "I remember the male lead you played in 'Shutter Island' had a mental illness?"

Leonardo DiCaprio replied, "That's right, director Scorsese told me he has schizophrenia."

Martin said, "This role is exactly what the Academy wants. If you put in more effort, you might be able to realize your dream next year."

Nicholson chimed in, "If there aren't any strong competitors, you still have a chance to win."

The three of them went downstairs and came out through the passageway.

Svetlana greeted Martin immediately upon seeing him: "Hi, darling, you finally have time to come see me."

"Leo, Jack, you know them both," Martin introduced them briefly, then asked, "How's the training going?"

Svetlana said, "It's no more difficult than the modeling training I received."

Martin followed up, saying, "It seems you suffered quite a bit in Russia?"

"Fortunately, I came to America, to Los Angeles." Svetlana leaned closer to Martin: "Fortune smiled upon me, and I met you."

Martin smiled and asked, "You really like Hollywood? You want to stay and develop your career here?"

Svetlana nodded: "I want to stay."

Martin encouraged him, "Train hard and do this role well first."

Soon, it was time for a break. Svetlana pointed to the training field and said, "I'm going to train."

After she had walked away, Martin asked, "How was it?"

Nicholson said, "It doesn't feel like lying or acting. Years of experience tell me that she has an extremely strong longing and desire for America."

Leonardo asked, "And the other person?"

"Not on set." Martin beckoned the two out of the training hall. "This afternoon, she and I have a few scenes to film. You can follow me to see what's going on."

"This is getting more and more interesting," Nicholson said, adjusting his glasses like a young detective. "I'm determined to find this swallow."

"Can't find it?" Leonardo asked.

Nicholson retorted angrily, "I've mobilized all my friends and connections to ensure they all boycott your Oscars this year, so you won't even get a nomination!"

Leonardo DiCaprio scoffed, "If you can't identify swallows, just say so. If you really could, the FBI would have hired you to identify swallows back then!"

Nicholson laughed heartily: "Are you kidding me, Leo! The FBI's budget can't afford to pay Jack Nicholson's appearance fee!"

Martin patted Leonard on the shoulder: "I should charge you, and you should pay me something in return."

"Why?" Leonardo asked.

Martin said, "I've given you such a great opportunity to experience life in the FBI, to participate in the search for a swallow. If you go to the FBI now, do you think they can provide that for you? So, Leo, you have to repay me."

"No problem," Leonardo said generously. "I remember quite a few supermodels and angels getting married, like Cindy Crawford. I'll introduce you to her another day!"

Nicholson chimed in automatically, "Martin loves this; he'll be very grateful."
