America achieves both fame and fortune
Chapter 725 Special Rewards
Chapter 725 Special Rewards
As night deepened, Elizabeth Olsen opened the glass display case and placed the Oscar statuette inside.
Just as she locked the cabinet door, Lily came up from behind and grabbed her: "Don't forget what you promised me."
Elizabeth glanced at the ribbon tied into a bow in her hair and couldn't help but laugh: "So eager to send yourself away?"
"I've been waiting for so long." Lily walked towards the stairs.
From behind, Elizabeth saw that Lily, who was the same age as her, was tall, with a wasp waist and a pert bottom, slender legs and a delicate face, absolutely stunning.
She caught up with Lily and took her hand: "Do you want to leave a lasting impression on Martin, one that he'll never forget?"
This was an area where Lily lacked knowledge. She nodded: "What should I do?"
"Hold your breath and wait for me to call you." Elizabeth pulled her upstairs, speaking softly as they walked.
The two quickly arrived at the master bedroom on the second floor.
Lily stopped and waited for Elizabeth to open the door and go in. She then sneaked to the door, pricked up her ears to listen, and pressed her eyes against the slightly open crack in the door to peek.
In the master bedroom, Martin, having just showered and wearing a bathrobe, saw Elizabeth enter and asked, "Hey, darling, weren't you going to give me a special reward?"
"The surprise is ready!" Elizabeth smiled sweetly and turned into the dressing room.
Martin looked on curiously, wondering what kind of surprise it would be.
Elizabeth quickly emerged from the dressing room, holding a black sleep mask in her left hand and two of her black ties in her right.
Martin wondered to himself, "What game are they planning to play?"
Elizabeth went around to the back of the European-style sofa and said to Martin, "Hands, hurry up."
Martin turned and asked, "What do you want to do?"
Elizabeth leaned close to his ear and whispered, "I want to take complete control. Hurry up, be good, and I'll reward you."
Martin raised his arms and placed them flat on the back of the sofa, his hands resting on the intricately carved wood.
Picking up a black tie, Elizabeth deftly threaded it through the openwork part of the wood, securing Martin's left hand to the top of the sofa, and then his right.
Martin leaned back on the sofa, watching to see what new tricks the little witch had prepared for the old boy today.
Elizabeth picked up the black sleep mask again and put it on Martin.
Martin was plunged into complete darkness.
Elizabeth waved to the bedroom door, signaling for them to come in quickly.
Lily tiptoed in.
In the darkness, Martin felt a pair of unusually nimble hands, completely different from Elizabeth's.
Flexible yet still somewhat green.
That night, Elizabeth became Lily's teacher, while Martin sadly became a tool for their teaching and experiments.
Having lost his freedom, Martin succumbed to the silvery power of the carving knife.
After a long period of envy, Lily finally joined Martin and Elizabeth's game.
The following morning, after breakfast, Lily asked Elizabeth to help her move.
Lily, who was previously suppressed by Martin on the first floor, is now moving to the master bedroom on the second floor to live with Martin and Elizabeth.
The two women plan to replace the bed in the master bedroom with a larger one, which will make it easier for them to exercise and rest.
The master bedroom's walk-in closet will also be emptied out and turned into Lily's walk-in closet.
In addition, Lily's studio was originally in Santa Monica, the same building that Martin had Lily buy from Ben Affleck at a very low price to help him through his difficulties.
There were still many empty rooms in the annex, and Elizabeth and Lily discussed converting two of them into studios.
Martin, of course, wouldn't concern himself with such trivial matters and would let them discuss and handle it themselves.
Lily and Elizabeth were having a great time.
In the early morning, Martin left Beverly Hills and went to his studio.
The Oscars ceremony is over, but the work that Davis Studios has been doing with the Oscars is not over yet.
The propaganda team continues to guide public opinion through social media and the internet.
Martin won the Oscar for Best Actor through fair competition.
Of course, there is still a series of tasks to be done; he absolutely cannot become a laughing stock across America like Gwyneth Paltrow.
This Hollywood icon of drama and a seasoned princess, perhaps spurred on by the media frenzy surrounding the "Water Queen" back then, often did astonishing things, such as having her biological daughter stabbed twice when she was less than three years old.
The scalpel of cosmetic surgery.
One incision adjusts facial contours, the other is an abdominal fat removal surgery.
It is said that he is currently considering giving his daughter, who is under eight years old, Botox injections.
Even people like Elizabeth, who grew up in Hollywood, found it utterly shocking.
Gwyneth Paltrow's ranking as the most hated Hollywood actress on numerous North American entertainment websites is truly a testament to her talent.
Thanks to the targeted arrangements and plans made in advance, Martin received mostly positive comments from mainstream media and social media after the Oscars ceremony.
Vanity Fair's special Oscar issue featured Martin Scorsese holding his Best Actor Oscar on the cover, and included his commentary in the cover text.
"Martin Davis, a name, a passion, a miracle. At the 84th Academy Awards, he won the Best Actor award with unparalleled talent and perseverance, writing his own glorious chapter! He will continue to dedicate himself to acting, using his talent and passion to create more profound and meaningful characters."
The Hollywood Reporter, one of the two major entertainment publications in North America, also published its opinion on the Best Actor award on its front page.
"Martin Davis, from the slums of Atlanta, won the Academy Award for Best Actor through his outstanding talent and years of hard work. He deserved it! Because every role he plays is vivid, and his performances are all powerful, allowing the audience to truly feel the joys and sorrows of the characters he portrays."
Positive reviews from mainstream entertainment media can largely eliminate criticism.
There will inevitably be media outlets and commentators speaking out for others, and this applies to every Oscar ceremony and every Oscar winner.
This year's Best Actor award received relatively little controversy. Apart from some British media outlets that believed Gary Oldman deserved the award, mainstream North American media almost unanimously agreed that Martin Scorsese's win was well-deserved.
It's not that his role and acting were particularly good, but rather that his co-stars were relatively weak.
In the ring, Martin won fair and square.
On the internet and social media, the mainstream opinion is that Martin's award is well-deserved.
"Looking at the nominees and their roles, who's better than Martin?"
"Of the five actors nominated for Best Actor, Martin is definitely the best."
"If one of the other four people had won, would you think it would have been fair?"
Martin scrolled through Twitter and YouTube on his way to the office, then suddenly remembered the Canadian director he'd met the night before and asked Bruce, "Did you bring that script and business card?"
Bruce rummaged through his bag and found the script and business cards he had put away the night before, then placed them on his desk.
Just as Martin was about to look, Bruce's phone vibrated.
He went to answer a phone call, and after a short while, he came back to Martin and said, "I'm going out for a bit, and I probably won't be back this afternoon or evening."
Martin waved his hand: "Go ahead, take whatever gift you want from the warehouse."
Bruce went downstairs and out of the company gate, where a minivan was parked.
The car door suddenly opened, and two arms, one long and one short, stretched out, as if kidnapping someone by suddenly stopping the car. They grabbed Bruce's clothes and dragged him into the car.
Bruce got into the car, and Kim Kardashian and Khloé Kardashian flanked him on either side.
Kohler hugged his arm: "You've been really busy lately. When I asked you to go to New York, you always made up some excuse."
Jin stared at him: "What, found an even bigger ass again?"
"No, I absolutely didn't find anyone with a bigger ass than yours!" Bruce wasn't lying at all, so he sounded exceptionally sincere: "I've been very busy lately, with Martin vying for the Oscar for Best Actor."
Kim and Kohler exchanged a glance, both agreeing that Bruce was telling the truth, and he didn't go looking for a bigger butt.
Martin had just won the Oscar for Best Actor, and they had all watched the live broadcast and the reports.
Bruce is Martin's manager, so he must be very busy.
Kim and Kohler originally wanted to attend Martin's celebration party yesterday, but they couldn't get through to Bruce, that jerk, so they decided to come and arrest him today.
Jin, being the eldest sister, said directly, "Old Bu, you need to ask Martin for leave. You won't be able to go back this afternoon and evening; you need to stay with us sisters."
Bruce put his arm around one of them: "I already told Martin when I came down."
Kohler said to the driver, "Let's go."
In the office upstairs, Martin picked up the business card, which had contact information and Denis Villeneuve's name printed on it.
The name looks familiar; I've seen it before, not just at last night's Oscars ceremony.
Martin recalled for a moment and vaguely remembered seeing it in a news report or under a movie in his previous life.
I can't think of anything more specific right now.
Martin picked up the printed manuscript, which had no title, only the words "Screenwriter: Taylor Sheridan".
He vaguely recognized the name, but couldn't recall which work he had seen it in.
Since he had some recollection of it, Martin thought he might be able to recall it by reading the script. He opened the printed script and began to read it carefully.
The beginning is an introduction.
"The word 'Sicario' comes from Jerusalem fanatics, describing those who hunted down the Romans who invaded their homeland. In Mexico, 'Sicario' means professional killer!"
"Chandler, Arizona."
An FBI team is on the move; Captain Kate leads her squad to break down the door of the target house…
At the very beginning of the script, it was mostly filled with interjections, such as the lines that the FBI often shouted after breaking down a door.
During the operation, Kate's team discovered more than forty hostages who had been murdered by Mexican drug traffickers and were hiding in a wall cavity. The horrific scene made Kate unable to resist going outside to vomit.
An FBI inspection of the tool room triggered a bomb planted by drug dealers, resulting in injuries or deaths of several agents.
Kate then joined an elite task force led by Matt Grave and spearheaded by the Department of Homeland Security.
The printed script ended there, but Martin was pretty sure which movie it was.
Siamese Killer.
