Chapter 777 Chaos Brings Fairness

Chapter 777 Chaos Brings Fairness

Hearing the fans' shouts, Martin waved to the outside of the parking lot fence, where at least a few dozen clowns had gathered.

Their faces were contorted in defeat, their mouths bloodshot, like demons from hell.

Martin, who always dotes on his fans, immediately raised his phone to take a picture.

Among the crowd were two clowns holding long plastic tubes. They quickly hung up a banner with a slogan of tribute.

"We are agents of chaos!"

On the white cloth banner, a line of blood-red letters stood out conspicuously.

Martin took several photos through the fence and waved to them, saying, "Goodbye."

Outside, the clown closest to the railing suddenly put his hand into his mouth and forcefully pulled his blood-red lips toward his ears.

His mouth was frighteningly large, and his entire expression was unusually strange.

He laughed loudly in Martin's direction, uttering a Joker line: "This world is ridiculous!"

These fanatical clown worshippers seem to regard the clown's words and actions as gospel.

Martin just felt something was off, waved at him, and walked toward the area where the electric scooters were parked.

Once on the electric cart, Bruce said as he drove, "Luckily, the Joker has very little screen time, otherwise the whole country would be in chaos again."

"Our mission is to bring happiness to America!" Martin opened Twitter, pulled up the photo he had just taken, and prepared to tweet: "Happy America!"

He recalled a line from the Joker, and using the photo as the background and this as the title—this scene seems familiar!

A tweet was sent.

Before the electric cart even arrived at the Interstellar studio, the tweet was already receiving countless likes and reposts.

…………

Outside the parking lot, as Harper the clown watched Martin walk away, he lowered his hand from his smirk and, like the other clowns, slowly dispersed.

He wandered around for a long time and came to an alley near a fast food restaurant. He quickly went to the trash can, opened the lid, and rummaged through the remaining junk food.

Before Hubble could even rejoice at finding a nearly intact hamburger, he saw a homeless man rushing towards him from the alleyway.

Such behavior of seizing territory and overstepping boundaries is a major taboo among homeless people.

Hubble finished packing the hamburger, turned around and ran. Because he hadn't been homeless for long, he was in much better physical condition than the older homeless people and quickly shook them off.

Arriving at the Warner Bros. Studios tourist area, where patrol cars frequently passed by, he found a place near a street artist to sit down, took out a cloth hat from his pocket, opened it, and weighed it down with a piece of gravel.

The man sat on the ground and started eating a hamburger.

Tourists and pedestrians passing by, or other clowns, a few will throw coins or small denomination dollars into the hat.

From the moment Hubble went bankrupt after failing in his stock investments, he stopped caring about what others thought.

He pulled out a worn-out Blackberry phone; a small piece of the screen was chipped off in the upper left corner, and the cracked back cover was taped back together.

As a member of the fanatical Jokers, Hubble is an organized individual.

He logged into Twitter and saw a tweet from Martin, whom he followed. He couldn't help but laugh and forwarded it to the leader of his small team, and then to the team's group chat.

Hubble typed a message: "The world we live in is ridiculous."

The group is quiet; no one has spoken yet.

…………

Aurora, Colorado.

After taking a shower, Dr. James Holmes emerged from the bathroom, donned a bathrobe printed with a clown's image, and entered the living room.

The living room walls of the wooden house are covered with many picture frames and movie posters.

All of these main characters are the same person—the Joker!

The Joker look played by Martin Scorsese in The Dark Knight.

In addition, the TV cabinet, shelves, and glass display cases were filled with all kinds of clown merchandise.

Especially in the glass display cases, there are all kinds of handmade clown sculptures.

James picked up the iPhone from the shelf; the back cover had been replaced, and it was now a custom-made Joker back cover.

The clown held a blood-red pen and wrote a line of blood-red words: I am the agent of chaos!

James noticed a notification on his phone, opened Twitter, and saw a message retweeted by his teammate.

That was a tweet from Martin.

James then opened the group chat, glanced at Hubble's message, and replied: We will change the world forever.

Another person in the group said, "Let's do what the Joker does best!"

James didn't reply. He took off his bathrobe, put on a dark suit, the same outfit Martin was wearing, and then sat down at the dressing table, staring at the poster pasted on the mirror.

He opened his makeup box, took out the paint, and applied it to his face, turning it deathly white. He then drew a gaping, blood-red mouth on his face and messed up his hair. Apart from the facial contours, he was almost identical to Martin's Joker.

"I am the real Joker," James grinned. "Only I can bring the Joker into the real world!"

He opened the drawer of his dressing table and took out a small revolver, the same model the Joker used in the movie.

With the gun pressed against his forehead, James pulled the trigger. A click rang out, but no bullet was fired.

A notification sound rang on my phone.

James opened the group chat and replied, "Wait for me!"

The other two replied one after the other, "We'll wait for you."

The three met on an internet forum created by a Joker fan, a forum with an antisocial style.

Most Joker fans just talk nonsense online, a small number of them will do things like free shopping or robbery in the Joker costume, and only a very small number will actually do things like LeBron James and others.

James took out the ammunition box, pulled out a bright orange bullet, put it into the cylinder, and then frantically spun the revolver after loading it.

The revolver spun around a dozen times and then stopped.

James grinned, revealing his blood-red mouth, raised his gun to his temple, and pulled the trigger.

With a snap, the bolt missed the bullet.

"Ha ha ha ha……"

James lowered his gun, laughed loudly, and said, "What doesn't kill me makes me even crazier!"

Laughter continued for several minutes.

James picked up his phone and sent a message in the group chat: "Bob, Kevin, can you guys go back in time?"

Bob responded first: "I went bankrupt, the bank took everything, and if it weren't for you, my phone would have been disconnected too."

A man named Kevin said, "I opened a convenience store with a loan, and every day I was subjected to black people buying things for free. In the end, I had to go bankrupt. It's not that I didn't work hard; it's that this world is too crazy. I want to give back to this world with chaos!"

James sent a message: "Disrupt all order, and everything will return to chaos. Only chaos brings fairness!"

Kevin replied, "Let's do what the Joker does best!"

James asked, "Bob, are you sure you have a way to get your hands on the goods?"

"Confirmed." Bob replied with a clown emoji: "With enough money, you can get any weapon."

James gave the order: "Kevin, you go to Los Angeles now and meet Bob. Wait for me to come over."

"Okay, boss." Kevin replied with a clown laughing excitedly emoji.

"Right now, I'm trembling with excitement." Unlike his two companions, James is highly educated, holding a PhD in neurology from the University of Colorado, and earns a substantial income.

But he felt the world was so rotten it was disgusting.

When James first started idolizing the Joker, he didn't think much of it. But in recent years, he's found society to be becoming increasingly alien and bizarre, with all sorts of monsters and demons emerging. It's one thing for him to act strangely, but others can't even say anything about it; to say it is to be guilty.

The entire country and society were permeated with an atmosphere of decay.

James intends to change all of this in his own way.

And the method he chose was the Joker!

"Madness is spreading, like gravity. If we give it a push, the chaotic justice we seek will arrive!" James sent his last message of the day: "Wait for me, I'll be on my way to join you!"

"Okay!" The other two replied with the same message.

James then opened the Jokers' group chat in the same city. Many people in the group were organizing a road trip to Los Angeles to attend the global premiere of "The Dark Knight Rises".

He also signed up to participate.

Soon a phone call came in to confirm. James confirmed the meeting time and place, loaded his revolver, put it in his pocket, went through the storage room into the basement, and found two black leather suitcases from the cushions of an old sofa.

This was cash he had exchanged months ago, mostly in denominations of $20, a favorite among gang members.

In the afternoon, James drove a car painted with a clown image, dressed as the clown, and met up with the others, heading to Los Angeles together.

…………

Warner Bros. Studios, Interstellar Studios.

"Filming won't start until next year," Nolan told Martin, discussing some work-related matters. "I plan to begin shooting after the Oscars next year. You need to adjust your schedule accordingly."

Martin replied, "My schedule is fine; I can join the crew anytime next year."

Nolan smiled and said, "Working with you has always been worry-free and effortless."

Martin laughed, "Because I don't like to cause trouble like some people do."

"By the way, if your schedule allows, you could join the cast sooner," Nolan suggested. "You've been on a trip to Mars, so you could share your experience of surviving in space with the other actors."

Martin asked, "Have the other actors been confirmed?"

Nolan stated directly, "The female lead has been confirmed as Jessica Chastain, who worked with you on 'The Martian'."

The two chatted for a while longer before Martin took his leave.

He left Nolan's office and ran into Daniel from Warner Bros.

The latter took the initiative to shake hands, and they walked out together. After exchanging a few words about their supposed old friendship, he said, "I'm pushing forward a new film project at Warner Bros., and there should be a role that suits you."

Martin thought for a moment and said, "You can send the script and project directly to Thomas or Jessica. I'll take a look at it when I have time and then give you a definite answer."

Daniel said, "I'll have someone send it over later." He then asked, "Are you and Jack satisfied with the arrangements for the premiere of 'The Dark Knight Rises'?"

Martin nodded: "The old and new Jokers walking down the red carpet together is no problem."
