Chapter 827 Martin can ride the wave of popularity, so can we.
Atlanta, in the Morrow District to the south.
A detached house, far from the community, has been converted into a studio.
A Black man came out, opened the mailbox by the door, took out some mail and newspapers, and went back into the studio.
"Any news, Ace?" A fat, dark-skinned man came down from upstairs.
Ace put down the newspaper, went to open the mail, and said, "I hope it's all good news."
The chubby, dark-skinned Kennan arrived, casually picked up an email, tore it open, glanced at it, cursed, and hurried back upstairs.
Ace tossed the email aside and followed, asking as he walked, "What happened? What's going on? Did someone mail us bullets? We bought some goods on credit last time, and the payment period is still a long way off."
Kennan turned around: "Shut up, you stupid old black man!"
"Hey buddy, you're racist!" Ace shouted habitually, then shrugged helplessly, "Too bad you're a stupid old black guy too, I can't sue you!"
Kennan arrived at the door of the largest room on the second floor, pounded on it, and shouted, "Guys, we're in trouble!"
There was a man and a woman in the room, both of whom were Black.
The Black woman was in her thirties, clearly of mixed race, and her skin was much whiter than Kennan's and Ais's.
The boy was fifteen or sixteen years old. His Black ancestry was not very obvious, and his skin was only slightly darker than Menez's. With his carefully made-up appearance, he looked at first glance like a tanned, younger version of Martin.
Kennan handed the email to the Black woman: "Dorothy, this just arrived. It's a lawyer's letter from Los Angeles, from Martin Davis's lawyer."
"My dad's lawyer's letter? He's coming to acknowledge me?" Paul, though young, spoke like a goofball, with a rap-like rhythm: "What do you think I should prepare? Film a video of me with my superstar dad?"
Ace followed in from behind, shouting, "Call me along with my godfather Martin!"
"Shut up." Dorothy carefully read the lawyer's letter, which was entirely about Paul's Twitter and Instagram accounts.
After Kennan waited until she finished reading it, he took it back and read it again, then handed the lawyer's letter to his client, Paul.
Dorothy said, "If they continue to publish this content, the next step could be a lawsuit."
Paul, the internet celebrity, said, "Let him sue me. A father suing his son will cause a sensation online, and my number of followers will skyrocket."
Kennan said, "That's the logic, and we anticipated that they might sue."
Dorothy asked, "What's the worst that could happen if we lose?"
"Paul's account will definitely be safe; the name Martin is very common." Kennan did his research, consulting with professionals when Martin's agent first contacted him: "Based on past Hollywood cases, Paul will need to delete all images, videos, and tweets related to Martin, publish a public apology, and pay damages for defamation."
Ace asked urgently, "How much?"
Kennan replied, "It's usually symbolic. There have been countless cases of this kind of opportunistic behavior in Hollywood, with the highest compensation being $1."
Dorothy was relieved: "We can afford it perfectly well."
"Why?" Paul, a young boy, asked curiously.
Kennan explained simply: "Because most Hollywood stars, before they become famous, have tried to ride the coattails of other popular stars. Martin Davis is no exception. I have investigated carefully and found that he rode the coattails of Paris Hilton and even personally joined the love triangle between Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston, and Brad Pitt, becoming the biggest beneficiary."
Ace chimed in, "Martin can piggyback on other people's things, so why can't we piggyback on his?"
Paul's rap-like voice rang out: "Isn't it only natural for a son to mooch off his father?"
It seems that after playing it so much, I've become so immersed in it.
Dorothy said, "Paul naturally looks a bit like Martin, which is his unique advantage. Martin is also the best target for us to ride on. Most of Paul's fans on Twitter and Instagram are attracted by those tweets that have a special relationship with Martin. Giving up these now is equivalent to giving up the fans that Paul has worked so hard to build."
She is Paul's mother and has a complete plan for Paul's future: "Let Martin Davis sue if he wants. When the news breaks, we will secretly bribe tabloids to spread gossip that Paul is Martin's illegitimate son."
Kennan wiggled his big belly: "This will maximize Paul's attention."
Dorothy added, "Then we'll release Paul's first rap song and let the whole world see Paul's talent!"
Ace asked, "Will this work?"
Paul's rap tune begins: "You doubt my talent?"
"Of course it can, because there are successful examples." Dorothy gave an example: "Justin Bieber first became famous through online marketing. Don't underestimate the star-making power of the internet."
Kennan said, "We will continue filming the material related to Martin's father and release it as planned."
Ace, the team's photographer and makeup artist, said, "I'll go get ready."
Dorothy added, "Don't forget, we are Black!"
Kennan said, "If necessary, Paul can also change his sexual orientation, and even his gender."
The Black tradition is that when someone becomes famous and a star, they can support a large number of people, not to mention their entire team.
Paul quickly changed into a red outfit, somewhat resembling the attire of the leader of the Cola Cult.
After taking the photos, they continued to tweet. Kennan, as the administrator, posted the revised photos, along with a title and a short text, on Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.
Title: Me and My Cult Leader Father.
…………
The farm's cornfields stretched as far as the eye could see, and a drone, equipped with a camera, took off to take aerial photos of the ground.
Martin, McKenzie-Foy, and the other two finished filming a segment and got out of the Dodge pickup truck.
The props team and stunt team then came in to decorate the interior of the pickup truck.
The stunt driver got into the car dressed in the same outfit as Martin, and two mannequins, one large and one small, were placed in the car to prepare for filming the scene where the car crashes into a cornfield.
Nolan went up to the car and told the stunt driver, "Don't worry about anything else, just go full throttle and keep the car as straight as possible."
The driver gave an OK sign.
Nolan left and got into a filming vehicle, then waved to Martin.
Martin also got into the car.
Nolan stood in the back of the truck, personally operating an IMAX camera.
Martin grabbed the railing and said, "Shall we film them?"
This is a vehicle specifically designed for shooting high-speed scenes. The rear compartment is equipped with a stabilizer. Nolan pointed to the vehicle in front and specifically told Martin, "The scene that will ultimately appear on the screen will be a multi-angle mixed shot edit."
He looked up at the drone in the sky: "Aerial shots, shots from behind the car, and the interior scenes you filmed earlier, all mixed together and edited."
Martin listened attentively.
Nolan added, "The logic behind these shots lies in movement. During filming, maintain high-speed movement, and during post-production editing, ensure the shots are always in high-speed motion. This helps to evoke the audience's emotions."
Martin nodded. "I understand."
With all departments ready, filming officially began with Nolan's command.
The Dodge pickup truck ahead swerved on the dirt road and crashed into the cornfield, knocking down countless corn stalks. The truck plowed a nearly straight line through the lush green field.
A drone is taking aerial photos.
In the car behind, Martin and Nolan were operating the IMAX camera to film the chase.
Nolan's style is distinctly different from Chad's.
Chad rarely actually operates the cameras.
During filming, Nolan would personally shoot many scenes that required IMAX cameras.
The cornfields here were planted in advance on farmland rented by the film crew, so they could wreak havoc as they pleased.
Nolan also planned to burn down the cornfield.
The Dodge pickup truck sped through the cornfield, crashing into it all the way until it finally came to a stop.
The cars behind also drove out of the cornfield.
Nolan operated the camera, replayed the footage he had just shot, watched it once, and nodded with satisfaction: "That's good."
This shot has been approved.
The stunt driver in front got out of his car, and Martin jumped out of the filming vehicle, went over and bumped fists with him: "Man, great job."
The stunt driver was also an acquaintance of Martin's, having collaborated with him several times in the John Wick series: "Compared to the action scenes we've filmed, this isn't that difficult."
Martin looked up at the sky: "The real challenge is piloting a spaceship out of Earth."
The stunt driver said in a serious tone, "I can't do this for you. I've never learned to fly a spaceship."
Martin nodded: "I haven't learned it either, but it should be too late to learn now."
After exchanging a few jokes, Martin returned to the filming vehicle and headed back to the dirt road near the farm.
Next, we'll film the drone footage; the actors can take a break now.
Several SUVs drove over and towed Martin and the others back to where the tow truck was parked.
As soon as Martin got out of the car, Charlotte Kirk came over and offered him an unopened bottle of mineral water: "I took it out of the ice bucket and let it sit for a while; the temperature is just right."
"Thank you." Martin accepted it.
Charlotte Kirk then handed out the remaining bottled water from the box to the returning actors, demonstrating her exceptional social skills.
These past few days, she's been quite popular on set; she's beautiful and gets along well with everyone.
Martin sat in his chair and asked Bruce, "I heard from Nolan that she was introduced to the film crew. What's her background?"
Bruce said, "It's said that Charles Rowan recommended it."
Martin nodded slightly and said nothing more.
After a short break, Bruce came over with his phone: "Your son tweeted again, and it's still about you."
Martin gave Bruce the middle finger, took his phone and looked at Twitter, where there was a picture of the black kid in a red shirt posing with his Coca-Cola cult public domain poster.
The photo also has a title: "Me and my cult leader father!"
There are many more comments below.
"You know what, this guy really looks like Martin. Martin's a total playboy, is he really an illegitimate child?"
"The Twitter user is from Atlanta and seems to be 16 years old. Considering the age, it's not impossible."
"Atlanta has a large African American population, making up half of the city, and it's also home to many people from the lower classes. Martin himself came from a lower-class background..."
Bruce said, "It's obvious that this influencer is just trying to get attention."
Martin put down his phone: "Let's take legal action."
