Chapter 414 The Avengers from 2023 (First Update)

On May 3, 2012, Li Chuan spent two small worlds' worth of time traveling back to the Wizarding World and the Naruto World to check. After finding nothing amiss, he began to wait for the Avengers to arrive in 2023.

May 4, 2012, 5 p.m., in an alley between two buildings near Stark Tower.

Four figures dressed in nano-quantum combat suits suddenly appeared.

The suits and helmets opened, revealing Iron Man Tony Stark, Captain America Steve Rogers, Ant-Man Scott Lang, and Hulk Bruce Banner, all of whom had traveled back from 2023.

"We'll split up. One gem is in the Upper City, and the other in the Lower City. Keep a low profile and be mindful of the time!"

Steve made arrangements for action the moment he arrived.

But then Tony noticed something amiss. Watching the leisurely passersby strolling through the alley, he turned to Dr. Banner and asked:

"Banner, did you set the wrong time, or the wrong location?"

After Tony's reminder, everyone realized something was wrong and quickly left the alley.

There was no Chitauri invasion outside the alley, nor were there any Avengers; everything seemed perfectly peaceful.

"Impossible! How could I make a mistake on something so important!"

Banner's face also showed an expression of disbelief.

Tony looked around at his surroundings, then quickly connected to the network using his personal device to check:

"The location is correct, and the time is indeed May 4, 2012. It's just that there might be something wrong with the world we came from. In this world, the Chitauri invasion actually happened two years ago."

And the main force that defeated the Chitauri army wasn't us, but a superhero called the Dark Wizard?

"A dark wizard?"

Steve and his two companions all looked bewildered; they had never heard of this name before.

Tony flipped through the news for a while and found that many of the things reported in the news were different from what was happening in their world.

"How could this be? According to previous experiments, we returned to a different timeline, not traveled to a different universe. This kind of problem shouldn't be happening."

At this point, Banner was also completely baffled as to what had gone wrong.

"We only have enough Pym Particles for this one time, so the focus now isn't on why the world isn't behaving as we expected, but on how we can obtain the Space, Time, and Mind Stones."

Steve interrupted Banner's hesitation, because what's done is done, and there's no point in dwelling on it anymore.

Tony frowned and replied:

"The Time Stone is fine. Go directly to the Sanctum Sanctorum to find Stephen. The Mind Stone should be with S.H.I.E.L.D. The most troublesome thing is the Space Stone. It has definitely been taken back to Asgard. It's almost impossible for us to get our hands on the Time Stone."

"Tony, are you mistaken? If the Chitauri attacked Earth two years ago, the Mind Stone should have been sent to Sokovia by Hydra by now."

At this point, Steve reminded Tony and corrected his mistake.

However, Tony shook his head upon hearing this:

"The Fury in this world seems to be more cunning. He had already discovered the Hydra invasion before that, and there were news reports that Hydra had been eliminated by S.H.I.E.L.D. again."

Meanwhile, the base in Sokovia had already been destroyed for unknown reasons before the Chitauri invasion, so the Mind Scepter is most likely in Fury's hands now.

"This is really troublesome. Even if the Mind Scepter is with S.H.I.E.L.D., given Fury's suspicious nature, it's probably unlikely that we can convince him."

Banner frowned.

They all know Nick Fury's personality very well, especially the current Nick Fury. If you were to say that you came from 2023 to collect gems and save the world...

He'd probably arrest you immediately, confiscate all your equipment to study it, lock you up and slowly verify its authenticity. It would probably take forever for him to fully believe it.

"I can handle this. You guys find the location, I'll go in and steal it. This is my specialty!"

Ant-Man Scott raised his hand.

"Back in my day..."

"Alright, we understand. Let's continue discussing the Space Stone. If we can't collect all the stones, those who have died cannot be resurrected. We must overcome all difficulties to complete the mission."

Steve quickly stopped Ant-Man from talking. He knew that once Ant-Man started rambling, half an hour could pass. Time was tight and the task was important; this was not the time for idle chatter.

Banner's fist, as big as a fan, slammed into the wall of the alley, cracking it open.

"This is troublesome. The Rainbow Bridge should be broken by now, and we can't get to Asgard."

Even if this world isn't corrupted, we must first convince Thor in this world to take us to Asgard, and then convince Odin to give us the Space Stone.

That is, assuming Thor is still on Earth.

At this moment, Tony, who was frowning in thought, suddenly spoke up:

"Perhaps we don't need to do that. We can simply take a few more steps along the path of memory and get both the Cosmic Cube and the Pym Particles. New Jersey military base, 1970."

If I remember correctly, at some point during that year, both things seemed to be at that base!

"They all seem to be there?"

Steve looked at Tony.

Tony quickly said:

"I'm sure they're all there."

"Captain, you need to understand, we only have enough Pym Particles to get back to 1970. If we go back and don't get the Pym Particles, we'll never be able to go back!"

Ant-Man, standing nearby, looked utterly incredulous upon hearing Tony's suggestion.

Tony looked at Steve:

Do you believe me?

"I believe it!"

Steve nodded firmly.

Tony took a deep breath:

"Then I'll do as you say."

"Banner, go to the Sanctum Sanctum and get the Time Stone from Slantch. We'll take Scott to S.H.I.E.L.D. to steal the Mind Stone. After that, you guys go back first. Tony and I will go back to New Jersey in 1970 to get the Space Stone and replenish our Pym Particles."

Remember, you must get the Primogems no matter what; only then can they all come back!

Steve quickly assigned tasks to everyone.

"Looks like this is the only way!"

Banner leaped and easily landed on the roof, then quickly jumped along the roof toward the sanctuary.

Steve and his two companions set off, preparing to leave the alley and head to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s base to steal the Mind Scepter.

Just as the three of them turned around, a strange voice suddenly came from the alleyway entrance:

"Hey Tony, what are you doing here? And Steve, weren't you in Washington helping Nick Fury?"

The three looked up and saw a handsome man in a black suit with an extraordinary air walking in from the alley entrance.
