Chapter 471 Alduin, the World Eater (Second Update)

After some interrogation, Li Chuan finally learned the whole story.

The dragonborn worshipped by the three followers was a man named Mirak, who was also the first person to be endowed with a dragon soul by the time dragon god Akatosh.

He was also once a dragon priest who served a dragon.

Thousands of years ago, when dragons ruled over humanity, Akatosh bestowed the Dragon Soul upon the dragon priest Miraak, hoping he could shoulder the mission of defeating the dragons and Alduin, the World Eater.

After becoming a dragonborn, Miraak betrayed the dragon race immediately, killing a large number of dragons and devouring their souls to strengthen himself.

However, he did not fulfill his mission of killing Alduin to save the world.

Even when the three Nord heroes invited him to kill Alduin together, he refused outright.

For some unknown reason, he secretly took his three most trusted dragon priests and went to Soltherheim. After conquering the place, he enslaved the people there and made them build his own temple.

Back then, Sotheheim and Skyrim were one entity, not an isolated island like it is now.

Later, Ulduar, enraged by the betrayal of the dragon priest Miraak, dispatched Varok, the leader of the Dragon Cult, to lead the dragon priests to Soltherheim to kill the traitor Miraak.

After a fierce battle, the two sides shattered Solserheim, splitting it from the sky and turning it into an isolated island.

In the end, the Dragon Priest leader Varok was slightly stronger, destroyed the temple, and killed Miraak.

Valok was thus appointed "Jailer" by the dragons to suppress and rule the entire island of Soltherheim.

However, according to the three Mirak followers, Mirak was not actually killed back then.

In his final moments before being killed, Miraak seemed to receive help from a demon god and escaped to another dimension.

And these believers have always been able to sense Mirak's presence, waiting for Mirak's return generation after generation.

Just recently, their wait finally paid off. Mirak's will, through the altar they had set up, crossed the plane of the demon god and descended upon Soltheheim Island once again.

In addition to announcing his impending return, he displayed immense divine power, controlling many villagers on the island of Soltheheim and beginning to repair the damaged temple and other structures that would aid his arrival.

However, at that moment, the temple's higher-ups suddenly received a message that another dragonborn had appeared in the sky. The higher-ups believed that Li Chuan must be an imposter, and that Li Chuan's existence would offend the real dragonborn, Miraak.

So he took it upon himself to send the three cultists by boat to Skyrim to find Li Chuan and kill this guy who dared to impersonate a dragonborn.

"This guy named Mirak is pretty strong; he can even enslave dragons."

After obtaining all the information from the three cultists, Li Chuan couldn't help but become interested in this first-generation dragon descendant.

The fact that Mirak could shatter a piece of land and form an island shows that he is indeed very strong, but Li Chuan believes that he can do the same easily if he goes all out.

What interests him is that, according to the believers, Mirak is said to possess a dragon roar that can directly enslave dragons.

He had never seen such a dragon roar in Greybeard's library, nor had he ever heard Greybeard mention it.

"Forget it, let's kill the dragon and increase our strength first."

Although Mirak was strong, he didn't take him seriously. The fact that he was defeated by the Dragon Priest Leader of the Dragon Cult meant that he was probably no match for Alduin.

He felt he should resolve the issues with the dragons and Alduin first before meeting the first Dragonborn.

So he withdrew his primordial spirit from the Tsukuyomi world and continued to control the auspicious clouds to accelerate his flight towards the Forest of Kaina.

In less than ten minutes, Li Chuan brought Delphine to the vicinity of Kaina Forest.

Near the Forest of Kaina is a small town where the residents make a living from mining.

At this time, the town was deserted, probably because everyone was frightened and hid after discovering the dragon's presence.

According to Li Chuan's intuition, the place where they were hiding was the mine tunnel next to the town.

"According to the map on the dragon stone you found, there is a dragon tomb here. I suspect that the black dragon was resurrected from this dragon tomb."

After landing, Delphine stopped dwelling on the issue of power and his expression became serious.

Bladeguards take it upon themselves to slay dragons, but this is the first time their generation has faced a dragon. It would be impossible for them not to feel any emotional turmoil.

"Let's go take a look."

Li Chuan nodded and walked towards the location of the Dragon Tomb with a relaxed expression.

He also had a map of Dragonstone in his mind, so he naturally knew that there was a dragon tomb here.

"I suggest you put on your golden armor. Dragons vary in strength, and this black dragon might be even stronger than the one you killed."

Seeing that Li Chuan was so lax, Delphine quickly frowned and reminded him.

Only the Dragonborn can truly kill the dragon. If Li Chuan dies, then the Blade Guards alone will not be able to completely defeat the dragon.

"Don't worry, I'll wear it when I need to."

Li Chuan waved his hand dismissively.

If he were an ordinary dragon, with his current strength, he wouldn't need to wear a gold armor.

If he were to encounter a dragon that could rival him, he could instantly don the robes if he wished.

"Saronir, I will return your eternal dragon soul, and grant you rebirth!"

Just then, a soul-shaking dragon roar suddenly rang out from the forest not far away, causing Li Chuan's eyes to change instantly.

He sensed a life force field, far stronger than Milmoniel's, appearing in the direction from which the dragon's roar came.

"Could it be that we just happened to run into Alduin resurrecting the dragons?"

Sure enough, he then heard a conversation in dragon language:

"Alduin, my king! Is it time to restore your ancient rule?"

"Yes, Salonir, my loyal guardian."

Li Chuan reached out and grabbed the cautious Delphin beside him. He spread his flying sword wings on his back and excitedly transformed into a streak of sword light, flying towards the direction from which the dragon's roar came.

"My god, even ordinary dragon souls are so incredibly nourishing, I can't even imagine how delicious Alduin's dragon soul would be if I swallowed it!"

Alduin is powerful, but he is only a part of Akatosh that has split off. He does not have his own domain and was once defeated by three Nords. Li Chuan felt that he should be able to defeat him with his strength.

During his visit to the Highroar Monastery, he also found many records about the Dragonborn.

Dragonborn were created by Akatosh to deal with Alduin, and are inherently somewhat restrained by him.

Besides, if you really can't win, you can just teleport away.

If they win and absorb Alduin's dragon soul, his primordial spirit might reach its peak in an instant.

Give it a shot, and you might just turn a bicycle into a motorcycle!

In just a few seconds, Li Chuan had already appeared above the Dragon Tomb in the center of the Kaina Forest, carrying Delphin.

He also saw two giant dragons that had just taken flight.
