Chapter 87 Practice Makes Perfect

Nighttime, in a secluded spot along the River Thames in London.

A slightly worn-out small steamboat was moored close to the riverbank. Five or six burly men carried attractive women out of cars on the shore and placed them into the steamboat's cabin.

They are a London-based heibang organization that specializes in making huge profits through human trafficking.

Eight years after the end of World War I, although the United States had risen to prominence, Britain remained the world's leading colonial power and its international standing remained strong.

Therefore, women from London, the capital of the United Kingdom, are naturally more valuable in some smaller countries.

Every country has poor people and every country has rich people. They search for women who are reasonably attractive in London's slums, trick and kidnap them, and then smuggle them to wealthy people in smaller countries to satisfy their perverse desires.

The government generally doesn't pay much attention to the disappearance of women in slums.

"Hurry up!"

Standing on the shore, a well-dressed young man in a suit and tie, smoking a cigarette, gave orders to the burly men.

He was one of the leaders in the organization and the person in charge of this transaction.

Standing next to him, a large, fat man in his forties laughed:

"No need to worry, I've already taken care of everyone. It's very safe here."

However, as soon as he finished speaking, the two streetlights by the river suddenly went out, leaving only the car lights on the bank still lit. Without the streetlights, the lighting was noticeably worse.

"What bad luck!"

The man in the suit complained a little when he saw this, but didn't take it too seriously, assuming that the streetlight was broken.

The fat man next to him was clearly much more wary. The moment the streetlights went out, he turned his head and looked around.

"Someone's coming! Watch out!"

Soon, the fat man spotted a figure rushing towards him at an extremely fast speed from a distance.

He tried to draw his gun and shoot, but the figure was too fast. He had only drawn the gun halfway when he was knocked unconscious by a punch at close range.

Similarly, the man in the suit and the burly men who were still carrying the woman were stunned for a moment, and before they could react to what was happening, they were taken down one by one by a figure.

"I'm lucky. I've only been out for a short time, but I've already found a good practice partner."

Looking at the people on the ground, Li Chuan smiled with satisfaction.

He moved from the bustling wizarding community of Diagon Alley back to the secluded Foley family estate so that he could secretly capture a few ordinary people to use as subjects for his magical practice.

Practice makes perfect. Many magical techniques that work on people are inefficient to learn if you only practice them theoretically without any practice objects.

Many of those powerful dark magic spells were invented by dark wizards when they conducted cruel magical experiments on ordinary humans.

However, such behavior would certainly not be recognized by the Ministry of Magic. If the Aurors found out, he would immediately be wanted by the Ministry of Magic and become one of those dark wizards who hide everywhere.

So he chose to return to the more remote manor, and when capturing ordinary people, he used physical skills instead of magic, so that he wouldn't leave any magical traces to be tracked.

Moreover, he only selected scum who could be shot, so that when they were no longer needed, they could be killed and buried in the garden as fertilizer.

"You're lucky to have met me."

After packing the smugglers into a sack and temporarily placing them in a small cloth bag, Li Chuan thought for a moment, took out a golden mask from his mission space, put it on, and walked to the cabin on the riverbank.

The women in the cabin all had their hands tied, their mouths gagged, and their eyes covered. They also had obvious bruises on their bodies from being beaten.

At this moment, they all huddled together, trembling, not daring to make a sound, for fear of being beaten and abused.

Reaching out, Li Chuan removed the women's blindfolds and untied their ropes. Looking at their bewildered yet still hesitant expressions, he spoke gently:

"Alright, you're saved. I've chased those bad guys away. There are cars on the shore outside; hurry home!"

After saying that, he left the cabin without waiting for the women to react, disappearing in a few leaps.

His main purpose in coming out was to capture people for experiments; rescuing them was just a side effect. He couldn't possibly send all these women home, nor did he need their gratitude.

Because that would not improve his strength at all.

However, the rescued women didn't think that way. For the rest of their lives, these women might occasionally think of the mysterious man with the golden mask, who seemed like a god and saved them from hell.

Returning to the manor, which had been magically cleaned up by Barry, Li Chuan went down to the basement and released the people from the bag, then tied them one by one to the crosses that had been prepared during the day.

"Barry, come here for a second!"

"Master, what are your orders?"

The house-elf Barry appeared in front of Li Chuan in an instant.

Li Chuan pointed to the eight people tied to the cross and said:

"These Muggles are all wicked people who have done all sorts of evil deeds. I brought them back as subjects for my magic practice. Please keep an eye on them and make sure they don't starve or die of thirst."

House-elves are the most loyal creatures. Even if their owner is a dark wizard, a purely evil person, and mistreats them every day, they will still be loyal to them wholeheartedly.

Even a free spirit like Dobby, who was often abused by the Malfoys, would not reveal the Malfoys' secrets until he was given his freedom.

Therefore, Li Chuan was not worried that Barry would betray him and complain to the Ministry of Magic.

"Yes, my master, I will take good care of these lowly Muggles."

Barry nodded respectfully, then looked at the ordinary people tied to the crosses with a look of disgust.

House-elves are generally from ancient pure-blood families, so they share the same mindset as most pure-blood wizards and naturally look down on Muggles without wizarding blood. Barry is no exception.

Li Chuan didn't care about this.

The conflicts between wizards and Muggles, the conflicts between purebloods and half-bloods, none of these matter to him; they are all the same to him.

The next day, after breakfast, he began his routine magic practice, only this time in the basement.

"Flavoid!"

"Torn apart!"

"Quick healing!"

"The flow of the river will not stop!"

"They'll all be petrified!"

"Legs stiffen and he dies!"

One spell after another flew out of Li Chuan's wand and hit the terrified gang members. Their bodies turned into animals, bled, and were healed.

As for the effects produced by the incantation, Li Chuan was constantly adjusting his posture and the speed of chanting to ensure that the magic would achieve the most satisfactory results.
