Mystery: My Encounters with the Celestial God
Chapter 28 Clues to the Lost Authority
Chapter 28 Clues to the Lost Authority
The interior of the church fell silent once more.
After a while, the hunter couldn't hold back any longer and burst out laughing.
"Hahaha, you're not trying to say you've found its location, are you?"
"You look just like... just like those con artists in those island taverns, hahahahaha..."
Unmoved by the hunter's shrill laughter, the navigator gave a cold snort and spoke very solemnly:
"Yes, I did find it. Although it was just a visible but inaccessible projection, I successfully found a location by following that projection."
"It's a mysterious island hidden deep in the ocean! But unfortunately, my strength is simply not enough to explore it further."
The navigator's seemingly genuine words, though not spoken in a loud voice, miraculously drowned out the hunter's shrill laughter.
"Are you sure that's the location of the Ghost Empire!?"
The tranquil atmosphere inside the church was abruptly broken, and all eyes were drawn to the navigator.
Because in this situation, even that wicked hunter wouldn't joke about something like this.
"I'm not sure, but the projection of that giant ship was just as enormous as described in the legends!"
"Moreover, when the giant ship reached the final island, no matter how close I got or what methods I used, I could not actually get close to that island. It was as if the distance between me and it had never changed, but I was certain that I had not lost my way or was going around in circles."
"Most importantly, on that colossal ship, which resembles a city, hangs the royal crest of the Trensost family!"
Before anyone could ask any more questions to get more specific details, Ron, who was sitting next to Hermes and lost in thought, suddenly waved his arm slightly.
What is the Ghost Empire?
The blond boy asked a good question.
"The Ghost Empire belongs to the Trensost dynasty; it is a massive ship the size of a city."
"Legend has it that before the Night Emperor fell, he transferred all his treasures and wealth to the ship, but none of the passengers and crew who were supposed to board survived to reach the port. In this situation, without anyone boarding the ship, it mysteriously disappeared, and even the gods could not find it."
The person who answered Ron's question was a young woman who looked to be in her early twenties.
Her voice was clear and melodious, like a bird in the forest. Her skin was fair and her appearance was exceptional, possessing an irresistible charm. Her dark eyes were bright and lively, like those of a young girl who had just come of age.
The young woman looked steadily at the blond boy opposite her and smiled gently.
This smile was like a hundred flowers blooming, making people feel exceptionally warm, as if they had arrived in spring.
"oh!"
However, the young woman's kindness was met with only Ron's cold response, as if she were casting a flirtatious glance at a blind man who could not see.
In Ron's eyes, and in his aesthetic sense, the woman in front of him was beautiful on the outside, but she had nothing to do with beauty in essence.
Only something like the pillar on the moon could pique Ron's rare interest, since the other's concept carried a beautiful symbolism.
"Little brother, you're being too rude! If you treat your sister like that, she'll get angry!"
The young woman was taken aback by Ron's reaction, seemingly not expecting that her charm could be thwarted.
"Oh, then be angry."
It was another bland, uninspired statement. At this moment, Ron was like a scumbag, using the young woman and then discarding her, ignoring her completely.
Compared to his sweet talk with the witch in front of him, Ron's attention was now entirely focused on the muscular navigator, because the Ghost Empire that the navigator had just mentioned had successfully caught Ron's attention.
"Hey, you're called Navigator, right?"
"What's this about not being able to get close to the final island?"
Seeing that his intelligence had attracted everyone's attention, especially the new, arrogant little dwarf who seemed particularly curious about his situation, the navigator smiled slightly and revealed his ultimate goal.
"Everyone, the above information is being disclosed by me for free. I believe that with the Chairman and Mr. Hermes present, they can prove that what I said is not a lie."
"If you're interested, you can exchange the extraordinary characteristics of the Disaster Priest for relevant information with me!"
After saying that, the seemingly brainless muscular man looked at the hunter opposite him, as if to say that if he didn't hurry up, someone else would buy the information.
"Even if it really is a ghost empire, it must be extremely dangerous!"
"The last measure left behind by a true god; I wouldn't be surprised if an angel perished there."
The lovable hunter ignored the navigator's sly look and continued shouting, exposing the other's clumsy tricks.
The hunter's words were not without merit, and could even be considered a fair assessment. His eyes swept over each member of the gathering, and he saw in their expressions a longing, greed, and an indifference that seemed to say, "It's none of my business."
"You only want the Disaster Priest's special ability? Aren't you considering other approaches?"
"Not for now, Mr. Time!"
After receiving the navigator's reply, Ron was in a bit of a dilemma. In his opinion, Sequence Four was just a piece of cake.
But this simple dish stumped him at this moment. In that instant, all Ron wanted to know was the navigator's location so he could go and politely exchange information with him.
As a pillar with a conscience but not much, he did not intend to take it by force. Ron's idea was to give the other party the parasite's extraordinary characteristics in his hand, and then pry the information he wanted out of the other party.
Their main selling point is forced buying and selling, and fair trade!
As for why Ron was so interested in the Ghost Empire, it was entirely because the navigator's description of his experiences reminded him of another authority he had lost.
Although many high-sequence extraordinary abilities can accomplish this at this stage, Ron still wants to give it a try.
After all, Sequence Four wasn't anything particularly precious to him.
"Mr. Time, you seem troubled?"
The cunning hunter noticed Ron's unusual behavior, and he, too, had his own plans.
Although the little guy in front of him had just joined the party and was behaving very arrogantly, that didn't stop him from testing Ron.
"Yes, Mr. Hunter, I do not currently possess any extraordinary traits of the Calamity Priest."
Ron innocently admitted that he was a poor guy.
"Heh, Mr. Time, that's not important. I have a request. If you can agree to it, I can use this sealed artifact in my possession as a deposit to pay you."
"I just don't know if you, Mr. Time, are up to the task!"
