Chapter 35 Mixed-Race Child

Unlike the well-trained plantation slaves of East Bayron, the people of West Bayron, ravaged by war, were far more ruthless.

After all, most of their parents, brothers, relatives, and friends had died in the conflict of colonial interests between Rune and Fussac.

Of course, in this small town occupied by the Byron Restoration Society, the Rose School was not a very honorable force to them, and was despised by the residents along with Rune and Fusak.

"Grab him! Don't let him escape!"

Someone in the crowd shouted loudly, but no one moved a step or took any action.

Perhaps they were afraid of the white skin and golden hair that represented the devil, or perhaps they were intimidated by Ron's calm and composed attitude.

For a moment, everyone just stood there, none daring to step forward and grab the Rune who had trespassed on their territory.

This is a fear from the subconscious, even though Ron looks like a child of about ten years old at this moment.

Just as more and more pedestrians gathered around, and several brown-skinned Sibayran people were about to lose their temper, a commotion suddenly broke out among them.

Screams and shouts rose and fell as a boy with messy golden hair and emerald green eyes pushed his way out of the crowd.

He darted left and right, knocking the crowd off balance and causing them to stumble and fall to one side. The middle-aged man who had been shouting and taking the lead was also knocked to the ground by the boy, clearly due to some personal grudge.

The boy with the rough hair moved like a nimble rabbit, arriving in front of Ron in the blink of an eye.

Without giving Ron time to wonder, he reached out his rough hand, grabbed Ron, and ran out of the encirclement that hadn't yet closed.

As he ran, he scattered white powder from his pocket. The powder drifted in the wind, covering the faces and heads of the Bairang natives who had recovered and were getting up to chase after him.

Although this method was dishonorable, it was very effective. The sight of the indigenous people with brown and yellow skin was immediately blocked, creating a large distance between the two sides.

The sound of footsteps echoed throughout the street, but as the unkempt-haired boy flashed away, the sound immediately disappeared.

Using his size advantage, he led Ron into a narrow passageway until they reached another wide street. Only then did the boy let out a long breath and look at Ron following behind him.

"Are you from Rune?"

The boy with unkempt hair asked Ron behind him in broken Rune, his eyes filled with curiosity and undisguised longing.

"Yes."

Ron's pronunciation was pure Rune, which was his response to the blue-eyed boy who suddenly appeared and saved the lives of the Bayron natives.

The blue-eyed boy's face lit up with surprise upon hearing Ron's answer. He eagerly began to scrutinize Ron, as if trying to discern something different about him.

"Are you also from Ruen?"

Ron found the boy's reaction rather strange, given that the boy had golden hair, emerald green eyes, and more defined features, unlike the gentler features of the West Bayern people.

His skin was a yellowish wheat color, not as fair as most of the people of Rune, but not as brownish as the people of Byron.

It is obvious that this is a mixed-race child of Loen and Byron.

"I...I'm not! My father is a pure-blooded Loen!"

The blue-eyed boy stammered a denial of Ron's question in broken Rune, but fearing that the Rune gentleman in front of him would look down on him, he proudly added the second half of the sentence.

"Those guys always look down on people like us, after all, we don't look like them!"

"By the way, my name is Roy Moore, that's the name my mother gave me, and Moore is my father's last name!"

Like most Loen gentlemen, Roy Moore first spoke humorously, complaining to Loen in Dutan about the Byron natives who had just chased them, and then extended his palm, using the handshake invented by Emperor Rosell.

"My name is Ron Sothos."

Ron smiled and replied in Dutan, then extended his hand to shake hands with Roy Moore opposite him.

Ron's behavior was like giving the blond boy some kind of stimulant. His freckled face flushed slightly, and a hint of happiness appeared in his eyes, as if he was pleased that the etiquette he cared about was finally being recognized by others.

"Quick, they seem to have gotten here!"

"Quickly summon the general's guards! A spy from Rune has infiltrated!"

The chaotic footsteps, accompanied by shouts from the indigenous people, came from the end of the street, instantly extinguishing Roy Moore's excitement.

He crouched down slightly, pressed his body against the wall, and looked left and right, as if to confirm the current situation.

"Shh, keep your voice down, this isn't the place to talk. Come with me."

He made a shushing gesture to Ron, took his hand, and quietly bypassed the city residents who were looking for them.

He skillfully led Ron around the town, carefully choosing deserted paths or secluded alleys. Before long, they arrived at the outermost edge of the small town.

Looking out from here, the landscape is desolate, with the only building being an abandoned wooden warehouse.

The warehouse wasn't large; it was quite dilapidated, with gaps in its broken walls sealed with mismatched wooden planks.

However, upon seeing the dilapidated warehouse, Roy Moore smiled with relief, as if this warehouse, which would be blown apart by a strong wind, was his greatest source of comfort.

"Come quick, they won't find this place!"

Roy Moore smiled, but didn't dare to call out to Ron loudly.

The warehouse was well-organized, with all sorts of old but clean household items arranged on shelves.

The neat, well-maintained beds indicate that this is not a gathering place for homeless people, but a warm and cozy home where one can find peace and tranquility.

"It seems you're not the only one here?"

Ron looked at the beds that were separated by wooden boards.

"Yes, those are my friends, they're just like me..."

Roy Moore hesitated for a long time before finally revealing what they were in common.

However, Ron easily understood his meaning. After all, the boy in front of him valued these things so much that even Ron, who had only been with him for a few minutes, could tell.

"And you, Ron, may I call you that?"

"Why did you come here? The area around Putuo City isn't Ruen territory!"

Roy Moore picked up the bottle of water in the Guadalcant and placed it in front of Ron, just like the middle class in the Kingdom of Rune would serve coffee or tea to guests who came to visit.
