Mystery: My Encounters with the Celestial God
Chapter 5 Did you bring any money?
Chapter 5 Did you bring any money?
"How can such a weak creature be worthy of being our servant?"
The spirit creature that resembled a rogue boss had just left when a mouth suddenly split open on Ron's fair left cheek, with wet, sticky fluid constantly oozing out, and two rows of illusory teeth opening and closing with the crack.
"The narcissist is right; a being that has only attained a sliver of divinity is not worthy to stand before us!"
Ron's right cheek also split open, revealing the views of the Celestial.
"Ha, if you're so capable, then you do it! The three of us together can't even muster the characteristics of a true god, so stop showing off at a time like this!"
Ron pursed his lips and used his own words to refute the opinions of his two opponents.
"Sphere, what's the next step?"
"Where can we go to reclaim our authority?"
"Ah, that's not urgent for now. The most important thing right now is to figure out where our authority lies."
"No, little ball, I think the most important thing right now is to get some clothes to wear. Don't you think running around naked is embarrassing?"
The Celestial Venerable succinctly revealed Ron's greatest predicament.
"Little ball, you can use the miracle worker's abilities to make a wish!"
"You can also use the insightful nature of an observer to conjure up a garment from a sphere!"
"Shut up, you two! I'm not using your abilities!"
Ron's brow twitched, and he didn't speak kindly to these two cunning individuals.
He looked around, surveying his surroundings.
The crimson moonlight illuminated the narrow alley, as if a layer of red gauze had been spread on the ground. A lot of clutter was piled up in the corner of the alley, making it seem very crowded.
At the far end of the alley, Ron spotted a small, thin figure, motionless as if in eternal slumber.
He approached and examined the man closely, discovering that he had lost all signs of being alive. He was disheveled, his clothes were tattered, and his body was so thin that it was just a thin membrane tightly wrapped around his still-undeveloped bones.
Ron watched this scene expressionlessly until he heard the Celestial Venerable's urging.
"Little sphere, what are you staring at! Do you really have any empathy for such a weak creature!?"
"Hurry up, don't waste time!"
Ron snapped out of his daze, wondering what he had been thinking, or if he had simply been spacing out.
A flash of silver light appeared in his hand, and the boy's clothes were instantly switched onto him.
"Barely fits..."
After stretching his body, Ron walked out of the alley without the slightest hesitation.
"I'm really looking forward to it... What kind of world is this?"
"The way you talk to yourself makes you look stupid!"
"You damned monster! Shut your lousy mouth!"
Bright gas streetlights illuminated the empty, deserted street, where a short, ragged, blond figure wandered aimlessly.
"What should we do next?"
A majestic voice echoed in his mind, allowing Ron to easily identify its owner.
"How would I know? Your unique characteristics were scattered all over the place, taken by other creatures to fuse with. Didn't you take the opportunity to revive within them!?"
"It's not that easy. Only those with complete Sequence Two characteristics can do this, but the creatures of this world have found a way to suppress our will!"
"You two are really useless!"
"Shut up!"
"Shut up!"
Ron sighed again, scolding his two useless teammates who were only good at arguing.
"In that case, we must first conceal our identities. We just learned in the spirit world that there seem to be nine true gods in this world."
"If they discover us, we might be sealed away and banished."
"..."
"So... what exactly do you want to do?"
Upon hearing the original question, Ron blushed and revealed his thoughts.
"Did you bring any money?"
Celestial Venerable: "..."
Original: "..."
"This is a serious issue. Without money, we cannot integrate normally into human society!"
Perhaps fearing that his two rivals would look down on him, Ron offered another dry explanation.
"Little sphere, you can use the Miracle Worker's abilities to turn everyone into secret puppets, then no one will suspect anything..."
"Sphere, you can manipulate the minds of these weak creatures, allowing you to perfectly integrate..."
Ron: "..."
"Do you think we'll be discovered by those nine false gods if we do this!?"
Ron's question silenced both the Primal and the Celestial, and their silence itself spoke volumes about the answer to the question.
Making money is a serious issue that has given all three pillars of the company a headache.
"We can take the money from the weak, we can cheat, we can steal, we can rob!"
"No, how can we do such a disgraceful thing? We can start by proselytizing and get them to willingly give their money!"
"How long will that take!?"
Listening to the argument between his two rivals in his mind, Ron's lips twitched slightly before he offered his own opinion.
"I think we should go begging!"
"No!"
Both sides unanimously rejected Ron's decision.
"How can we possibly wag our tails and beg for mercy from those weak insects!"
"Sphere, have you forgotten the symbolism and status of your pillar?!"
"You've really embarrassed us!"
Hearing his rivals' criticisms, Ron also got angry.
"This won't work, that won't work, what exactly do you want?!"
"How could there possibly be a way to enhance our status, gain people's willingness, and also bring us money...?"
Before Ron could finish speaking, a brilliant idea suddenly flashed into his mind.
"Wait, I actually have an idea!"
"But we need to make some real promises. How about it, do you agree?"
Hearing the message Ron conveyed in their minds, the Primal and Celestial stopped arguing, clearly quite satisfied with the solution.
"However, it's not feasible to implement this here; we need to find a place with many wealthy people!"
Looking around at the dirty and chaotic streets, Ron mentally discussed his next move with his two rivals.
This wasn't because he had changed his attitude towards his two adversaries, but because the body would be unable to move if they didn't reach a consensus.
Strictly speaking, all three of them are outsiders!
The Celestial Venerable and the Primordial One, due to their extraordinary characteristics, have their wills residing within this body, while Ron occupied this body after transmigrating.
If they were still alive, they could simply give up this body. But they are now in a state of death. If they were to be separated from their authority and this body, their active will would be silenced, as if they were dying again.
The crimson moonlight gradually faded, and the pitch-black night sky, dotted with stars, lit up once more. A faint light shone from the horizon, casting Ron's long shadow on the street.
