Chapter 226 The Truth Revealed

Chapter 226 The Truth Revealed (Second Update)

In Jerry's mind, Legilimency was a spell used to read minds and obtain information; he never imagined it could be used to assist in combat.

If that's the case, then it's not just magical combat; even in close-quarters fighting, the Legilimency technique is very useful. If you know in advance how your opponent will attack you, and your body can keep up, wouldn't you instantly become a fighting master?

Jerry was an amateur martial arts enthusiast in his previous life, so he knew that prediction was a very important and difficult skill in close combat.

Many martial arts have listening techniques, such as Tai Chi listening and Wing Chun listening. These techniques involve using the touch of the skin and internal sensation to detect the magnitude, length, and direction of the opponent's force, thereby enabling one to anticipate the opponent's movements and launch a counterattack.

Sometimes, with strong predictive abilities, you can even defeat enemies much stronger than yourself with minimal effort.

For example, if someone much larger than you throws a punch at you, and you anticipate their attack trajectory, you can easily dodge it or strike a vital spot.

A master of combat can often take on multiple opponents because they can anticipate some of their enemies' movements and quickly attack their vital points to take them down.

If Jerry were to learn Legilimency, he would become a master fighter even without magic or superhuman physical strength, thanks to his heightened senses.

It now seems that wizards of Voldemort's caliber still possess a lot of valuable knowledge.

And so, at the start of the new semester, Jerry plunged headlong into the study, research, and modification of magic once again.

Meanwhile, in the girls' washroom on the second floor.

An old man with a white beard slowly walked to the toilet where Myrtle was and waved his hand to release the binding spell on Myrtle.

"Aaaaah! Headmaster, you have to do me justice! This is the third time I've been immobilized by magic since the start of the semester! It's so mean, so mean! I've never seen such a wicked little wizard!"

As soon as Myrtle recovered, she poured out her heart to Dumbledore through tears.

Dumbledore looked at Myrtle, who was kneeling at his feet, tears and snot streaming down her face, and shook his head helplessly.

"Alright, I got it. Did you see which little wizard froze you this time?"

A week ago, he was cornered by Myrtle, who said that a little wizard would use magic to freeze her at night.

At first, he didn't pay much attention, after all, this wasn't the first time something like this had happened to Mommy. He just offered a few words of comfort and then told Filch to be careful during his night patrol.

The next day, he was cornered by Myrtle again, for the same reason: he was magically immobilized in the toilet for several hours.

At this point, he had some doubts in his heart. Although the little wizard liked to throw books at Myrtle, it was rare for him to use magic to freeze her, especially not for two days in a row.

The identity of the Myrtle is also somewhat sensitive. She was the student who was killed when the secret room was opened, and she died in the girls' restroom on the second floor.

But when asked more closely, she couldn't give a clear answer; she hadn't seen anyone or heard any sounds.

The next few days were calm again, until today, when a portrait artist informed him that he heard footsteps on the second floor but did not see anyone. He rushed over immediately and found that Madam Myrtle had indeed been frozen in place again.

"I didn't see anything, but this time I heard a sound. It sounded like something was coming from over by the pool!"

Myrtle thought for a moment and replied, then continued to hug Dumbledore and cry, recounting her tragic story.

Dumbledore had no choice but to drag Myrtle toward the pool.

Fortunately, Myrtle is a ghost and has no weight, otherwise Dumbledore's old arms and legs might not have been able to move her.

"what?"

After walking around the pool, Dumbledore soon found a small red ball under a tap.

With his magical abilities, he could tell at a glance that it was a small ball with recording magic.

Using magic to activate the ball, it immediately emitted a Parseltongue-like language, and then a water pipe tunnel appeared before Dumbledore's eyes.

Upon entering the secret room, a parchment letter lay quietly on the floor.

One month before the start of the school year.

When Jerry and his friends arrived at Hagrid's cabin, they saw Hagrid, beaming with joy, humming a tune as he drank butterbeer he had brought back from the Three Broomsticks pub.

"Hagrid, what's got you so happy!"

Jerry asked with a smile.

When Hagrid saw Jerry and the other three, a big smile immediately appeared on his slightly flushed face.

"Oh, you've come! I'm so happy today! A matter that has wronged me for almost fifty years has finally come to a conclusion!"

"Is it the thing that prevents you from casting magic?"

Harry looked on with curiosity.

He knew that Hagrid was forbidden from using magic by the Ministry of Magic for some reason, and that he had to do so secretly every time.

Hagrid nodded happily:

"Yes, that's it. Now that the truth is out, I can finally use magic openly again!"

Hagrid then recounted what had happened to Jerry and the other three years ago.

Forty-nine years ago, when Hagrid was still a student at Hogwarts, the school's rumored Chamber of Secrets was opened, and a student was murdered as a result.

At the time, Hagrid was secretly keeping an eight-eyed giant spider, and a wizard reported him as the one who opened the secret chamber.

Later, thanks to Dumbledore's full support, Hagrid was not sent to Azkaban, but he was stripped of his right to use magic for life by the Ministry of Magic.

Now, Dumbledore has found evidence that Hagrid was not the one who opened the Chamber of Secrets. Someone else did open it, and the student was not killed by the eight-eyed spider, but by an evil creature called a basilisk.

So now Hagrid can cast spells again.

Evening, Slytherin common room.

Jerry recounted the story he heard from Hagrid that day to Voldemort in his diary, and couldn't help but sigh:

"I misunderstood you. It turns out that the secret room was opened once back then, and the treasure inside was probably stolen by that thief from forty-nine years ago!"

"I just don't know who that guy is. I asked Hagrid, and he said he didn't know either. Dumbledore didn't tell him!"

The diary remained silent for a long while before replying:

"Yes, it seems that's indeed the case!"

At this moment, Voldemort was thinking to himself, "As expected, Dumbledore found a way to open the Chamber of Secrets before them and kill the basilisk inside."

All I can say is that Dumbledore, that old fellow, originally thought the other party was already senile, but it seems he still can't be careless.

"By the way, I've almost mastered the Legilimency technique you taught me. Now teach me Occlumency!"

Upon seeing what Jerry had written in his diary, Voldemort couldn't help but sigh. This young Slytherin wizard named Jerry was truly a rare magical genius, whose talent was only slightly inferior to his own back then.
