Chapter 289 Fierce Battle at the Dock

Chapter 289 Fierce Battle at the Dock (Second Update)

"Jarvis, hack the War Machine's program and check if Colonel Rhodes is currently piloting it!"

Seeing War Machine standing on the deck with several Extremis soldiers beside him, Tony immediately halted his diving plan and issued a reconnaissance order to Jarvis.

"Yes, sir!"

A moment later, Tony saw Killian's extremely arrogant and domineering face through the helmet.

The War Machine was originally a gift from Tony to Colonel Rhodes. Although it was later modified and protected by scientists in the military, he could still hack into it if he wanted to.

"What does Killian want to do wearing War Machine?"

When Tony saw that it wasn't Rhodey inside the War Machine suit, but Killian instead, he immediately had a bad feeling.

"We can't let him leave!"

Seeing Killian piloting the war machine into flight, seemingly about to leave, Tony, who had been somewhat hesitant, ultimately chose to expose his position and charge forward, delivering a powerful blow to Killian's chest.

Killian is manipulating the war machine and impersonating Colonel Rhodes, which is clearly ill-intentioned. If he intends to use Colonel Rhodes' identity to carry out some kind of terrorist attack, then things will get very complicated.

Therefore, he couldn't bother to sneak in to rescue Colonel Rhodes at this moment, and instead chose to stop the more threatening Killian.

Although Killian had just learned the basic operation of the War Machine Suit after some experimentation, he was not as proficient as Rhode, the original pilot.

So when Tony suddenly appeared in front of him and fired a cannonball at his chest, he didn't have time to control War Machine to dodge and was hit squarely.

"boom!"

"Boss!"

The Extremis standing on the cruise ship's deck watched as Dr. Killian plummeted at an even faster speed than when he took off, crashing through the deck and falling into the underground cabin. They all cried out in alarm, wanting to go down and rescue him.

Killian possesses all the technology of the Extremis virus. If he dies, all of them, the Extremis warriors, will soon be blown to bits.

"Tony, I want you dead!"

However, before they could even get off, a roar came from the underground cabin.

Immediately afterwards, Killian, stripped of his war machine suit which had been blasted out of shape and engulfed in flames, jumped from the cabin onto the deck.

At this moment, a large chunk of flesh was clearly missing from his stomach, but it was recovering at a visible speed.

"Come on, baby!"

As Tony flew high in the sky, he heard Killian's roar below and immediately beckoned with his finger in a provocative manner.

This provocative gesture, tantamount to "Come here!", instantly intensified the flames on Killian's body.

He opened his mouth and spewed out a long column of fire, which shot towards Tony in the air. Tony didn't try to take it head-on; instead, he increased his altitude so that the flames couldn't reach him.

He glanced around and saw that there were at least fifty Desperate Warriors below, their bodies glowing red. He knew he would be torn to shreds if he went down.

Therefore, the most important thing to do now is to keep provoking the other party, making them lose their temper, thereby delaying the arrival of his steel army and wizards.

"Look me in the eye, you little brat!" (Translation)

Tony, relying on the more advanced functions of his Iron Man suit, kept dodging the attacks from the Extremis below and the ranged weapons such as rocket launchers and machine guns wielded by the mercenaries, thankfully that these Extremis couldn't fly.

"Alright, that won't work. Go and bring our dear Colonel Rhodes here!"

Killian wasn't stupid; he knew that as long as Tony didn't come down, it would be difficult for them to hurt him, so he immediately sent his men to the cabin to bring Colonel Rhodes out.

When Tony saw Colonel Rhodes being led out by the Extremis, he immediately realized something was wrong.

"Tony, I order you to get down here right now and take off your Iron Man suit, or I'll kill him immediately!"

Killian approached Colonel Rhodes and shouted triumphantly at Tony in the air.

"Then kill him. If I go down and take off my Iron Man suit, two of us will die; if I don't, one will die, and I can avenge him afterwards. Killian, do you think I, Tony, am an idiot?"

Tony looked down at Killian and sneered.

He wanted to save Rhodes, but following Killian's instructions wouldn't save Rhodes at all, and would only cost him his own life.

"Alright, you make a good point. Here's what I'll do: I'll give you a chance. You can come down wearing your metal suit, and we'll have a one-on-one fight. If you win, I'll let you and Colonel Rhodes leave. How about that?"

Killian extinguished his flames, reached out and grabbed Colonel Rhodes by the neck, lifting him up:

"Otherwise, I'll kill him right now!"

"Oh, buddy, don't be impulsive, don't be impulsive, I think this suggestion is good!"

Seeing that Rhodey was being choked to the point of near suffocation, Tony quickly landed on the deck from high above.

Although he knew that even if he won a one-on-one fight with Killian, the other party would not let him and Rhodes go, that was not his goal. His goal was to buy time and wait for his steel army and wizards to arrive.

Killian put down Colonel Rhodes, whose face had turned purple, then turned red, flames erupted from his hands, and with a leap, he charged toward Tony like lightning.

"Do you know how desperate I was on that rooftop in Sweden eleven years ago? Now I'm going to make you experience that despair!"

"Oh, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have joked with you back then. I sincerely apologize!"

Tony replied, desperately trying to fend off the attack.

Back then, he was young and impetuous, and at the time he was pursuing the beautiful Dr. Hansen, but Killian relentlessly approached him to promote his think tank and research institute, hoping to get his funding.

To avoid disturbing his enjoyment, he tricked Killian into waiting for him on the rooftop.

As a result, he obviously didn't go to the rooftop. Looking back now, his behavior was indeed quite despicable, but he never expected the other party to be so extreme as to engage in terrorist activities.

"Apologize. If an apology is effective, then we should."

Killian slammed Tony hard onto the deck with a punch and ripped off one of Tony's mechanical arms.

What he wants now is not an apology, but torture and the thrill of revenge.

Killian's Extremis virus had clearly undergone special optimization; not only his strength but also his self-healing ability were unmatched by ordinary Extremis warriors.

So even though Tony was wearing the Iron Man suit, he was almost constantly being overwhelmed.

He had just managed to blast off one of the opponent's arms when the opponent was off guard, but in less than two seconds, the opponent had grown a new one.

Just as Tony had his entire upper body ripped off by Killian's Iron Man suit, leaving him virtually defenseless and about to be killed, a voice suddenly made everyone stop.

"Oh dear, have I disturbed your enjoyment?"

Everyone looked up and saw a stranger with huge white wings, looking like an angel, appearing above them at some unknown time.
