Chapter 297 Infiltrating S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters (Second Update)

After leaving the villa, Jerry first cast a Disillusionment Charm on himself, and then took out the Magic Mirror.

Everyone who was given the magic mirror by him didn't know one thing: without the magic mirror being connected, Jerry could use the main magic mirror to teleport to the location of any of the sub-magic mirrors at any time.

In other words, Jerry can now teleport to anyone who owns his magic mirror whenever he wants.

"As expected of you!"

When Jerry teleported to the panel in Nick Fury's hands through the main world, he discovered that Nick Fury didn't actually carry the Magic Mirror with him; instead, he had placed it in a closed box in a room.

That makes sense. Nick Fury must have learned from Black Widow and the others that Jerry could teleport over when the Magic Mirror was connected, which is why he deliberately didn't bring the Magic Mirror with him, but instead kept it in a fixed, enclosed place.

He may not have known that Jerry could locate and teleport without the Magic Mirror connection, but being cautious, he would certainly have made some guesses, just in case.

As the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., a man with countless secrets hidden in his mind, how could he tolerate anyone appearing in front of him at any time?

"The Arahomon Opens!"

Jerry casually tossed a lock-picking spell onto the door of the enclosed space, and the steel door, which could only be opened by fingerprint and iris verification, was easily opened by Jerry.

No matter what kind of lock it is, as long as it's a lock, the unlocking spell can open it, unless it's sealed with other magic.

He carefully pushed open the door and went out. After a short while, he learned his current location by eavesdropping on the conversation of the staff nearby.

He is now located on Theodore Roosevelt Island in the Potomac River in Washington, D.C., which is also the headquarters of S.H.I.E.L.D., in the Tri-Wing Building.

This was Jerry's first time visiting this S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters.

Previously, he had met Nick Fury, except for one time at the base at 219 West 47th Avenue in New York, the rest of the time it was on that big aircraft carrier that could fly.

"Let's find Nick Fury's location!"

Jerry took out an owl, cast a Disillusionment spell on it, and then wrote a letter to Nick Fury, which he sent via the owl.

He followed behind the owl, responsible for using the Lockpicking Charm to open various doors and the Freezing Charm to suspend all surveillance or alarm devices that might detect the door opening.

A short while later, he arrived at the door of a building with a sign that read "Office of the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D."

Jerry put away the owl; he knew Nick Fury must be inside.

S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, Director's office.

"How did it go? Did they go to the academy?"

Nick Fury asked Coulson.

"We've already sent someone over, but we just received news that the recruitment wasn't successful. They said they need to consider it and will give us an answer tomorrow. Director, do you think he's found out?"

A hint of worry appeared on Coulson's face.

"It's unlikely that he'll find anything, but given his personality, he'll definitely have suspicions, but it shouldn't be a big problem. He won't be able to find anything at the S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy."

Nick had just finished speaking when he suddenly frowned:

"Coulson, didn't you close the door when you came in?"

"Close the door! I should close it!"

Coulson looked at the door with some surprise and found that the office door was ajar, with a crack in it.

"It's definitely not closed. Could there be something wrong with the door lock?"

"Perhaps, Coulson. Your miraculous recovery this time was a stroke of luck. Remember to go to the trauma center for a check-up every now and then to prevent any lasting effects."

Nick Fury got up and closed the door, without saying anything more, but gave Coulson some instructions.

"Actually, I think I'm great right now, great in every way. When can you assign me some tasks? I feel like I'm going to rot away!"

Coulson shrugged and muttered a complaint.

Since his miraculous return from his vacation in beautiful Tahiti, Nick Fury has not assigned him any tasks and has been frequently given medical checkups.

So far, the only mission has been to get the admissions officers at S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy to naturally recruit wizards into the academy.

"Don't worry, Coulson, I have a big gift for you this time. You should be very happy!"

Nick Fury smiled, a rare occurrence, and turned on the projector in his office. A large airplane then appeared in front of Coulson.

Coulson looked at the airplane on the projector and asked with some confusion:

"Isn't this a 'bus'?"

"Bus" was the number one air command base built by S.H.I.E.L.D. in the 1980s and 90s at a cost of four or five hundred million US dollars. However, after the space carrier was built, it was abandoned in a warehouse.

"Yes, I had it renovated a while ago. From now on, it will be your exclusive air combat base. I'll have Hill prepare a list of some outstanding agents for you later."

You can select suitable members from these to form your own unique combat squad, which will then be used for missions specifically designed for special events.

Nick Fury sat back down in the chair behind his desk.

He didn't bring Coulson back to life just to leave him idle; he was simply observing Coulson's condition during this time, since the kind of life-saving methods he used had significant side effects.

After hearing this, Coulson was stunned for a moment, and then his face lit up with ecstasy.

A dedicated airborne operations base, and the ability to form a dedicated combat team—this level of treatment is absolutely top-tier within S.H.I.E.L.D., and would probably make any senior agent green with envy.

Sure enough, his near-death experience during the alien invasion had paid off; the director still clearly favored him.

"Thank you, Chief. I will definitely lead the team to complete all missions successfully!"

"Coulson, I've always believed in your abilities. Go find Hill!"

Fury waved his hand, indicating that Coulson could leave and go do his own thing.

Shortly after Coulson left, he immediately began reviewing the security footage to see what had just happened outside his office.

"Strange, am I just being paranoid?"

In the monitoring room, Coulson did close the door after entering, but not long after, the lock suddenly popped open, revealing a crack.

"This is Nick Fury. Have someone from the tech department come and check the office door!"

After reviewing the surveillance footage, Nick Fury picked up the phone on the table and made a call.

On the other end of the line as he made the call, Jerry was floating in the air, watching him.

It turned out that Jerry had just used the Lockpicking Charm to open the door and then Apparated directly into the office.

Apparition can only successfully teleport you to places you've been before, or places your eyes can see. Jerry hadn't been to the chief's office, so of course he couldn't teleport in.

So he first used a lock-picking spell to open a crack in the door, and only after seeing the scene inside through the crack did he teleport back in.
