Chapter 30 Special Ways of Making Friends
Chapter 30 Special Ways of Making Friends
"I stopped you just to tell you that violence cannot solve problems. We can calm down and talk things over."
Your attempt to forcibly take snacks, as you just did, is unacceptable. If you want snacks, you can politely ask these two classmates for some. I believe they won't refuse if you're polite.
Perhaps realizing he had gone a bit too far, Jerry coughed and explained again.
Then he turned to Harry and Ron and asked:
"Boys, do you agree with what I said?"
Harry and Ron were startled, then immediately nodded like chickens pecking at rice.
"You see, if you had been a little nicer, they would have been willing to share some snacks with you!"
Jerry turned to look at the three trembling figures, Little Ma and his companion, huddled in the corner by the door of the private room, and softened his tone as much as possible:
"We're all freshmen this year, and we might even be assigned to the same college. Let's shake hands and be good friends from now on! What, you don't want to?"
Seeing Jerry extend his hand and look sharply in their direction, the Malfoy trio's expressions changed, and they quickly stood up and placed their right hands on the back of Jerry's hand.
When Harry and Ron saw Jerry turn to look at them, they exchanged a glance and then stepped forward to place their hands on it.
"Hermione, you guys come too! It's more fun when everyone's together!"
Jerry extended his free left hand and beckoned to Hermione and Neville.
Hermione, somewhat bewildered, slowly walked over with Neville, who was equally bewildered. After a moment's hesitation, she still placed her hand on Neville's.
"Alright, let's join hands and hearts, forget this unpleasantness, learn together, improve together, and become the best professionals... oh, no, the best wizards!"
In a moment of impulse, I almost blurted out the business slogan of my company from my previous life.
Watching the Malfoy trio shake hands and then flee in disarray with his permission, Jerry smiled and turned to look at Harry and Ron:
"Hello, my name is Jerry Carmen."
"Harry Potter".
Ron Weasley.
Although Harry and Ron hadn't quite processed what was happening, they still responded instinctively.
"The train will arrive at Hogwarts in five minutes. Please leave your luggage on the train, and we will take it to the school for you."
Just then, an announcement suddenly rang out throughout the train.
"It's nice to meet you all, but we're almost at our stop and need to go back to our cabin to pack up. See you later!"
Hearing the announcement that they were about to arrive at their destination, Jerry waved to the two of them, then pulled Hermione and Neville around and headed out of the box.
"Jerry, thank you for helping us just now!"
Just as the three were about to leave the private room, Harry and Ron, realizing what was happening, simultaneously thanked Jerry.
"You're welcome. We're all classmates, and I really like to win people over with kindness!"
Jerry turned and winked at Harry and Ron, then pulled Hermione and Neville away from the box.
"Winning people over with virtue?"
A string of colons appeared above Harry and Ron's heads.
Was that what you meant by winning people over with virtue?
"Jerry, are you good at fighting?"
Inside the private room, Hermione looked at Jerry, who was stuffing Crookshanks into the cat cage, and asked him with some curiosity.
Hermione appears to be someone who highly values rules, but as a Gryffindor, she is also someone who is willing to break the rules to help her friends.
Just like when she set fire to Professor Snape's clothes, went with Harry and Ron to retrieve the Philosopher's Stone, and stole Professor Snape's ingredients to make Polyjuice Potion, etc.
Therefore, Hermione actually approved of Jerry's actions in helping Harry and Ron teach the Malfoy trio a lesson.
She was just a little curious as to why Jerry was so good at fighting.
Jerry's eyes darted around. Hermione, as the next and possibly only person who could exchange magical insights with him and help him improve, felt that he should try to establish a good image in front of her.
"Well, it's just... sigh!"
Frowning, Jerry feigned a sigh and explained with a touch of sadness:
"Actually, I wasn't good at fighting at first, but there was no other way. You have to understand, I was born in an orphanage, and orphanages..."
He didn't go into details after that.
However, the clever Hermione had clearly understood something from Jerry's expression, and a look of sympathy appeared in her eyes.
Sometimes, no matter how realistic or detailed a lie is, it may not be as convincing as something that comes to the other person's mind.
At this moment, Hermione already had a sad story in her mind: Jerry was abandoned in an orphanage at birth, and was constantly bullied as he grew up, which led him to develop a fighting skill.
"It's okay, Jerry, you'll be alright!"
Hermione went up to Jerry and gave him a big hug.
"Uh-yes, it will get better!"
Although Jerry didn't know what Hermione was imagining, it seemed to be something positive, so he didn't say anything more.
"The bus has stopped, we can get off now!"
Neville, unlike Hermione, was completely bewildered the whole time. Only when he saw the train stop did he realize what was happening and call out to Hermione and Jerry, who were embracing.
As the train pulled into the station, the once empty aisle was filled with little wizards who came out of their compartments one after another.
Jerry, Hermione, and Neville struggled to squeeze into the crowd and, amidst the pushing and shoving, got off the train.
Hogsmeade Station, the terminus of the Hogwarts Express, is also a very small station.
"First-year students! First-year students, come this way!"
Jerry, Hermione, and Neville were crammed into the crowd on the platform, unsure which way to go, when a deafening voice suddenly came from the far left of the platform.
Turning my head to look,
A giant, about three or four meters tall, with a thick beard, was holding a magic lamp and shouting loudly into the crowd.
"Then let's go with Hagrid!"
With such a physique, at Hogwarts he would be Rupert Hagrid, the half-giant and half-wizard, known as the Huntsman.
After struggling through the crowded throng, the three of them finally stood beside Hagrid, along with all the other first-year students.
This also includes Harry, Ron, and the Malfoy trio standing away from Jerry.
Hagrid smiled and spoke a few words to Harry alone, then, carrying the magic lamp and leading all the first-year students, walked along a steep, narrow path to the left of the station.
"Hermione, if it's hard to walk, you can hold onto my arm!"
Seeing that Hermione wasn't walking smoothly, Jerry offered his arm.
Because it was downhill and the road surface was very uneven, the little wizard walked with difficulty.
