Chapter 441 Star-Lord's Background (First Update)

"Let's go, Jerry. Let's finish this quickly so we can start our Guardians of the Galaxy's space adventure. I saw online the other day that the Sovereign Empire is looking for help to fight off monsters that eat batteries. Maybe we should go check it out!"

Once the Milano had left, Star-Lord immediately spoke to Jerry.

Although he came to Earth because of the conditions proposed by Jerry, he still didn't really want to stay here any longer.

Because it always reminded him of his deceased mother.

"Oh, I'm afraid that won't work. We might have to stay on Earth for a while longer."

Jerry shrugged upon hearing this.

"What?"

Star-Lord's eyes widened immediately:

"This is not what we planned!"

"I wasn't involved when you guys made the plan. Besides, this is for your and Gamora's safety."

Jerry smiled.

Jerry doesn't plan to let Star-Lord and the others leave Earth until he has dealt with Ego and Thanos.

Reality is not a movie, and because of his involvement, the development of events deviated significantly from the original plot.

If we let these people out, and they get caught or killed by Ego and Thanos, that would be disastrous.

If Ego captures Star-Lord and obtains the Celestial power within him, then countless planets in the universe, including Earth, will be destroyed and become Ego's avatars.

If Thanos captures Gamora, he can use her life to obtain the Soul Stone.

With his current strength, he is not confident that he can deal with Ego and Thanos, so bringing the two to Earth is the safest course of action.

Because Earth is currently protected by the Ancient One and Odin, Thanos and Ego dare not come and cause trouble.

After the Ancient One and Odin die in two years, his strength will probably increase significantly.

Then we'll go to Asgard to retrieve the Space Stone, use Wakanda's technology to extract Vision's Mind Stone, borrow Doctor Strange's Time Stone, and combine it with our own power and the Reality Stone.

With all five Infinity Stones in hand, he wouldn't even need the Avengers to assemble; even if Ego and Thanos came together, he wouldn't be afraid.

"Are Gamora and I safe?"

Jerry briefly explained Star-Lord's background, Ego's, and Thanos's ambitions.

Star-Lord and the others were completely dumbfounded after hearing this.

"You mean my father is actually a planet that likes to sow seeds everywhere? He killed my mother too? And he wants to kill me to absorb the so-called divine power within me, and then destroy the entire universe?"

Star-Lord was clearly skeptical of what Jerry said.

After all, it sounded too unbelievable. Putting aside what happened next, the fact that his father was a planet was already hard for him to accept.

"Yes, do you think I would need to lie to you?"

Jerry nodded with absolute certainty.

"I'm so curious, how did Quill's dad, being a planet, manage to do that with Quill's mom? You know, he would have crushed her!"

Drax stepped forward and asked with a serious expression.

"Are you crazy?!"

Gamora and Nebula both cursed at Drax at the same time.

At such a serious moment, when the discussion is about the destruction of the universe, Drax is thinking about how a planet could have produced Star-Lord with humans.

Although, they were actually a little curious.

"Hey, I'm telling you, I don't want to know what my kids did. Nobody cares what their parents did. I just want to confirm if this is all true!"

Star-Lord turned to Drax and explained irritably.

Drax clearly couldn't understand:

"Why? Every winter my dad tells me how he made my mom suffer—it was so wonderful! I think you earthlings must have some kind of emotional disorder!"

"That's absolutely disgusting!"

Star-Lord helplessly rubbed his forehead.

Gamora and the others were speechless.

"Igor possesses the power of a god, which allows him to create something from nothing. So he created a human avatar for himself, and then traveled to planet after planet, breeding with any race that could reproduce, hoping to give birth to offspring with the same power as him."

Although Drax's perspective on the issue was peculiar, Jerry still provided a reasonable explanation.

This also made his words seem more genuine.

In his view, Ego's divine power was very similar to the power of the Reality Stone; both were creative powers.

"Quill, maybe Jerry is right. When we were very young, Thanos kept talking about his terrible ideal of wiping out half of all life in the universe to keep the universe in balance."

Moreover, he has indeed been searching for traces of the Infinity Stones all these years, including having me search for the location of the Soul Stone before.

However, I had no idea that those stones possessed such powerful and terrifying strength!

The thought of a snap of the fingers wiping out half the universe of life is terrifying.

Gamora saw that Star-Lord was still somewhat skeptical, so she explained what she knew.

While I have my doubts about Jerry's claim that Thanos's favorite person is himself, most of the other things Jerry said are true.

The key point is that with Jerry's terrifying strength, there's absolutely no need for him to lie to them.

Therefore, she felt that everything Jerry said might be true.

"Dawn, come down and get me!"

After hearing Gamora's words, Star-Lord's eyes darted around for a moment, then, as if he had made a decision, he immediately opened his bracelet and gave a command to the Milano that had just flown away.

"Quail, what are you doing?"

Rocket, who had been silent until now, seemed to realize Star-Lord's intention and quickly questioned him.

"I'm going back to Contrasia to find Yondu and ask him about the location of Ego's planet. I want to confront him and get to the bottom of things. If he really is my father, and if he really killed my mother, then I'm going to kill him with my own hands!"

Star-Lord's tone was filled with anger.

Now he was 99% convinced of what Jerry had said.

That's why he was even angrier.

Because the cancer his beloved mother was suffering from was actually Igor's, he did this to prevent himself from developing real feelings and abandoning his original plan.

"As expected of the man who punched Avengers: Endgame, he doesn't think straight when he gets angry. Luckily, I was prepared!"

Seeing Star-Lord's reckless attempt to take down Ego alone, Jerry shook his head, activated his bracelet, and commanded:

"Dawn, remain in the air. Do not descend without my order!"
