Chapter 47 The Curse of Invulnerability to Water and Fire

"The Divine Blade is Without a Shadow!"

Jerry waved his wand at the apple on the coffee table.

An invisible blade was unleashed from the wand, and a hole instantly popped out of the cup on the right side of the apple.

"The accuracy needs improvement!"

Jerry looked at the perfectly intact apple, then at the cup next to it, and shook his head helplessly.

After continuous practice, he can now successfully unleash the Divine Sharpness Shadowless Spell, but due to his limited magical strength, the power he can unleash is not very great.

Therefore, if he wants to unleash greater destructive power in a short period of time with the Divine Sword Shadowless Spell, he must practice more and master its accuracy from another perspective.

A slash to the thigh and a slash to the neck, even with the same force, have completely different lethality.

He needs to use the invisible blade he unleashes with the Divine Blade Shadowless Spell to hit exactly where he points, ideally even a fly flying by, his invisible blade can precisely cut off the fly's wings.

Of course, this takes time and requires a lot of practice over a long period of time.

"Restored to its original condition!"

He threw a repair spell at the cup next to the apple, restoring the cup to its original state, and then resumed practicing the Divine Sharpness Shadowless Spell.

However, just as he was gaining more and more precise control over the Divine Sword Shadowless Spell, a series of fire truck sirens suddenly sounded outside.

"So many vehicles?"

Sensing at least three or four fire trucks passing by on the main road outside the neighborhood, Jerry thought for a moment, then immediately grabbed a guitar case from his room and rushed out.

If there's a fire, many people might be trapped. Once they're rescued, there should be quite a few little red stars in the coffin.

Abandoned warehouse

Jerry quickly took out the wizard suit from his guitar case and put it on. Then he chanted a spell on the flying broomstick he had taken out and rode it out of the warehouse at high speed.

"There it is!"

Flying high in the sky, Jerry quickly spotted the seven or eight fire trucks speeding down the street, and then his flying broom accelerated, closely following behind them.

"Oh God, what is that?"

"Mom, look! Someone's flying!"

"This world is insane! Someone's actually flying on a broomstick!"

A crowd of citizens on the street, drawn by the sirens of the fire trucks, also spotted Jerry flying not far above the fire trucks and exclaimed in amazement.

Jerry always operated at night, so the only people who could spot him were those near the crime scene or the police who reviewed the surveillance footage afterward.

Therefore, although most people have heard of the concept of a "wizard," they have never actually seen one, and many of them do not really believe in it.

After all, everyone knows that many media outlets like to exaggerate the facts in order to attract traffic. What wizards and magic? They're probably just a magician using tricks.

Magician David Copperfield has also performed magic tricks related to flight.

But today, under the clear blue sky, they were still greatly shocked to actually see a person dressed as a wizard flying through the sky on a broom that didn't seem to have any high-tech features.

This speed doesn't seem like magic!

Jerry glanced down at the shocked crowd on the street below, but didn't pay it any mind.

It was only a matter of time before the public found out; he had long been mentally prepared.

The key is to earn more red stars and quickly improve your strength. Once your strength improves, everything else will be secondary.

He's not one of those real superheroes; he always has these kinds of concerns.

Of course, it's best to maintain a positive image in public as much as possible, otherwise being seen as a major villain and getting ganged up on by other superheroes would be troublesome.

To put it more bluntly, at least on the surface, he must stand on the moral high ground in order to be safer.

For fire rescues like today, being high-profile can be beneficial.

With that in mind, Jerry deliberately lowered his flight altitude and waved to the shocked New Yorkers on the street.

After flying for about ten minutes, Jerry finally saw the thick smoke rising in the distance. He then accelerated and took a shortcut through the air towards the smoke.

The fastest speed it could reach across Samsung was 60 miles per hour, or about 100 kilometers per hour. Taking a shortcut from the air, it quickly left the fire department's patrol cars behind.

Two minutes later, Jerry finally arrived at the scene of the fire.

A six-story building along the street caught fire for unknown reasons. Police officers on patrol were already on the scene maintaining order, and some reporters were also broadcasting live with cameras.

Among them, Jerry also saw a familiar face, Lucy, the reporter who used to stake out and photograph him.

Lucy is a relatively unknown junior reporter. Her stakeout plan gradually falls apart because Jerry has expanded the scope of his efforts to earn little red stars.

She received a live interview assignment at a street burger shop during the day, but before she could finish the interview, she unexpectedly encountered a fire nearby.

So she immediately took the cameraman and rushed to the fire scene to start a live broadcast.

"This is Oak Street. I am your favorite Lucy. There has just been an unexpected fire here. Judging from the current situation, it seems to have started on the second floor and has now spread to the fifth floor."

However, while some residents managed to escape, many others remain trapped inside the building. The fire department has not yet arrived, and the situation is extremely urgent!

"Oh God, there seems to be someone in the sky!"

Lucy, who was diligently reporting the situation in front of the camera, heard gasps of surprise from the onlookers and immediately looked up.

A short figure dressed in a wizard's robe, riding a broom, appeared above their heads.

"Quick, point the camera at that child; he's the wizard I've been searching for!"

Lucy's eyes lit up, and she immediately shouted loudly at the cameraman.

The cameraman reacted quickly, raising the camera and pointing the lens at Jerry in the air.

Jerry, without wasting any time, quickly pulled out his wand from his pocket and cast a water and fire immunity spell on himself.

This was a relatively ancient spell that he had learned in "A Guide to Medieval Wizardry".

Its main function is to prevent it from getting wet from rain and from being burned by ordinary flames.

The book states that many medieval wizards would cast this spell on themselves when they were captured by Muggles and about to be burned at the stake, in order to prevent themselves from being burned.

With the water and fire immunity spell, Jerry accelerated and rode his flying broom into the burning fourth floor.

Judging from the fire on the second and third floors, those who could escape must have escaped, and those who couldn't escape are probably burned to a crisp. Going in to rescue them now would just result in corpses.

Only those on the fourth and fifth floors might still be saved.
