Chapter 525 Makarov's Tactics

Chapter 525 Makarov's Tactics (First Update)

Inside a house 10,000 meters above the ground in Magnolia.

Jerry stood on the magic experiment table and quickly constructed a black magic circle:

"Soul Devouring!"

In an instant, a black phantom capable of devouring life, magic, and souls flew out from the magic circle.

The black phantom was manipulated to suck on a goat tied to the opposite side. The goat, which was still struggling, was instantly devoured by the phantom, leaving only a dried skeleton that looked as if it had been dried for months after death.

"The power is pretty good!"

Jerry casually dissipated the ghost and nodded in satisfaction.

During the week of the council's trial, he did more than just sit idly by. On the second night, he secretly sneaked into the council's dungeon and captured Joseph and Aria, who were still seriously injured, and brought them into the Ring World.

Joseph's dark magic can devour life, magic power, and souls, making it extremely cruel. Meanwhile, Aria's wind magic can drain an opponent's magic power; although it requires a sneak attack, its effectiveness is remarkable.

Jerry had never encountered the magic of these two before, so he certainly couldn't let them go so easily.

It was precisely because of the disappearance of Joseph and Aria that the council was able to reach a verdict so quickly.

They believed that Joseph and Aliah must have fled to escape punishment.

"Mirajan is looking for me?"

Just as Jerry was about to continue experimenting with several other dark magic spells, he suddenly noticed that a crystal ball on the table next to him lit up.

The magic crystal ball is a magical item that allows mages in this world to communicate remotely. Mirajane gave it to Jerry a couple of days ago so that he could be notified in time if anything happened.

As magic was channeled into the crystal ball, Mirizhen's image immediately appeared on it.

"Jerry, the president wants to talk to you!"

"Did Natsu and the others break something again?"

Jerry asked his usual question.

Miri covered her mouth and smiled:

"They went home with Lucy and haven't come back yet. The president said he has something he wants to talk to you about."

"Okay, I'll be right there!"

Jerry paused for a moment, then nodded and closed the crystal ball.

That's good, he was planning to find some time to have a proper talk with Makarov anyway.

These past few days, he's been busy interrogating Joseph and Aria about their respective magic in the Ring World, so he hasn't gone to Makarov to express his desire to learn the fairy's law.

Now that Makarov is looking for him, he's just taking the opportunity to bring this up.

In the Fairy Tail guild, Jerry knew that it was best to speak directly if there was anything to say, rather than hiding it, as that would be counterproductive.

If Makarov is willing to teach, that would be best. If not, he can ask the other party to make a deal to obtain the teaching. If all else fails, he can take other measures later.

This is much more efficient; otherwise, all the probing and testing would not only waste time but also be ineffective.

So after changing his clothes, he immediately Apparated to the front of the guild hall bar.

"Good morning, Miss Mirajane. Where is the president?"

"Hey Jerry, you're as fast as ever. The president is waiting for you in his office on the second floor."

As soon as the crystal ball went out, Jerry appeared before her eyes. Mirajane exclaimed in surprise and then pointed to the second floor.

Second floor, the president's office.

Makarov stared at the financial statements, which showed a deficit for the month, and gulped down a large glass of beer in frustration.

"Almost there, almost there! Just hang in there a little longer, I'll be free soon, and then I won't have to worry about this anymore!"

"President, I'm Jerry!"

Hearing the noise from outside the door, Makarov hurriedly stuffed the financial statements into the table, then laughed out loud:

"Jerry, come in, come in!"

"President, Mirajane said you wanted to see me?"

Jerry pushed open the door and looked at Makarov sitting at the desk, asking him a question.

Makarov put down his glass, his expression becoming slightly more serious:

"Ahem, yes, I do have something very important to discuss with you!"

"Is it something important?"

Jerry looked puzzled and decided to wait until Makarov finished explaining the important matter before making his request.

"Jerry, you've been in the guild for a month now. What do you think of our guild?"

Makarov didn't immediately get to the point; instead, he started asking questions.

Jerry nodded.

"Great, everyone is very sincere and united, and the atmosphere in the guild feels very comfortable."

He was telling the truth here, and it was also his feeling over the past month or so.

Upon hearing this, Makarov's smile widened, and his tone became more excited:

"Yes, our guild's founding principle was to create a harmonious guild where everyone can trust and help each other, like a family, where everyone can bravely move forward on the path they believe in!"

"A beautiful idea."

Jerry nodded again, wondering why Makarov was bringing this up now.

After Makarov finished speaking, he jumped off the table, stood opposite Jerry, and then stared at Jerry as he slowly said:

"So Jerry, are you willing to get along well with everyone from now on?"

"I do!"

Makarov's question seemed strange, but given how serious the other man was, he quickly nodded in response.

"Would you be willing to help your guildmates when they encounter difficulties in the future?"

Makarov's speaking speed suddenly increased.

"I do!"

Jerry nodded.

"Are you willing to stand up and contribute your strength when the guild encounters enemies in the future?"

Makarov continued to ask.

"I do!"

Jerry continued nodding.

"Are you willing to help the guild become better and better?"

Makarov's speaking speed increased by another three points.

"I do!"

Jerry felt like he was pecking at rice like a chicken.

"Would you be willing to become the guild master of the fourth generation Fairy Tail?"

Makarov spoke so fast that it was almost impossible to understand what he was asking.

"I do. President, what did you just say?"

Jerry nodded, but then subconsciously sensed something was wrong and glared at Makarov.

Did Makarov just ask him if he would be willing to become the fourth Fairy Tail guild master? Or did he mishear?

"Alright, since you're willing, then it's decided. I will officially hand over the position of chairman to you on the day of the harvest season two months from now. During this time, I will gradually spread the news to help everyone get used to it, so you should prepare well."

Mararov jumped up and patted Jerry on the shoulder. Ignoring Jerry's shock and inability to react, he immediately turned and ran towards the door, as if afraid that Jerry would call him back.
