Chapter 554 A Sweet and Sour Kiss

Chapter 554 A Sweet and Sour Kiss (Second Update)

After leaving the tents covered with pictures of Jerry, the group arrived at the busiest part of the campsite.

This place not only offers a variety of interesting magic shows, but also a wide array of wizarding foods and magical items from different countries.

Everyone got up very early today, so most of them didn't eat breakfast. Now that they see all the delicious food in the camp, their stomachs are rumbling.

"Pick whatever you want to eat, it's on me today!"

Knowing that everyone except Harry didn't have many Galleons, Jerry generously waved his hand.

Upon hearing that Jerry was treating, everyone cheered and rushed inside.

They knew Jerry was a real tycoon, and the money he spent on breakfast was nothing to him.

Originally, Jerry should have been the poorest among them, after all, he was born in a Muggle orphanage and even his annual tuition was paid for with a grant, which would take him several years to pay off after graduation.

But there's nothing we can do, he's just too good!

He not only became the only player in history to be exceptionally admitted to the National Quidditch Championship while still in school, but also published his own magic book.

His monthly salary and royalties from publishing magic books alone have already filled his coffers with Galleons, exceeding the lifetime assets of most adult wizards.

Watching everyone disperse to find their favorite foods, Jerry smiled and shook his head, then led Hermione to stroll through the various food stalls.

Before long, the two of them had a lot of magical food that they had never seen before.

"It's sweet and sour, so delicious! Jerry, you should try one!"

Hermione took a bite of the "blushing candied hawthorn" she had just bought from the Chinese wizard, and a look of happiness immediately appeared in her eyes. Then she immediately held the candied hawthorn to Jerry's mouth.

Jerry opened his mouth and took a bite, his eyes lighting up.

"The taste is indeed very good!"

One for you, one for me, and soon there was only one candied hawthorn left on the string.

Hermione took a bite off the last candied hawthorn from the stick, but before she could fully eat it, she suddenly slipped and fell backward.

Fortunately, Jerry's physical abilities and reflexes were already superhuman. Seeing Hermione about to fall, he immediately reached out his right hand and supported her waist, looking down with concern as he said:

"Are you alright?"

Looking at Jerry's face, which was less than twenty centimeters away from her, Hermione's heart suddenly began to pound, and she couldn't help but look up and press her gaze against his.

However, since she was still biting on a candied hawthorn, the final imprint on Jerry's mouth was naturally that candied hawthorn.

They stared at each other, wide-eyed!

Jerry instinctively bit into the other half of the candied hawthorn, momentarily at a loss for what to do.

In fact, given his reaction speed, he could have easily dodged when Hermione looked up.

However, for some reason, he didn't try to dodge just now.

"It's too sour, you can have the last one!"

Hermione realized what was happening and quickly let go of the candied hawthorn, hurriedly standing up again.

Right now, she really wants to find a crack in the ground and crawl into it.

Actually, if they had actually kissed in that situation, it wouldn't have been so bad. At least if Jerry hadn't refused, they might have ended up together.

Who knew she'd be blocked by a candied hawthorn? So embarrassing! She had to come up with a ridiculous excuse to get away with it.

"It's a bit sour, let's eat something else!"

Seeing Hermione's flushed face, Jerry smiled after realizing what had happened, but didn't expose her. He ate the candied hawthorn in his mouth and replied with feigned seriousness, as if he really believed Hermione's unreliable explanation.

This allowed Hermione to breathe a slight sigh of relief after her embarrassment.

"We've bought Jerry and Hermione!"

At that moment, Harry, Ron, Ginny, and the others also came over carrying magical delicacies they had never seen before.

"Jerry, Hermione, what happened to your faces? Why are they so red?"

Ginny looked at Hermione with some suspicion, then at Jerry, and a thoughtful smile suddenly appeared on her face.

As Hermione's best friend, she naturally understood some of Hermione's little thoughts and had roughly guessed some of them.

"Could it be that I caught a chill this morning?"

"Could it be a fever?"

Harry and Ron both expressed their concern.

Ginny rolled her eyes upon hearing this.

Obviously, her crush and his older brother, both of whom are about to enter fourth grade, are still in a daze. How could they not see it so obviously?

"No, it's just that I just ate a string of candied hawthorns from China that make my face turn red."

Seeing that Hermione's face seemed even redder, Jerry smiled and stepped forward to explain.

Harry and Ron suddenly realized, but Ginny still looked incredulous.

"By the way, what delicious food did you buy?"

Fearing Hermione would remain embarrassed, Jerry quickly changed the subject.

Harry and Ron immediately began describing the various delicacies they had bought.

There's Indian fire-breathing curry that makes you breathe fire when you eat it, Japanese seafood sushi rolls that can transform your head into various seafood heads in a short time, and American "Boom Boom" popcorn that makes your mouth explode continuously when you eat it, and so on.

After enjoying all sorts of novel and delicious foods, everyone started looking at those all sorts of magical items with various functions.

Finally, around noon, they returned to the Weasleys' magical tent.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Weasley, who had finished tidying up her house and arrived, had already prepared a sumptuous lunch for them.

The Weasley family’s Burrow is also in Devonshire, not too far from the current camp. With Mrs. Weasley’s magical abilities, she could easily Apparate there without a Portkey.

After a hearty lunch, everyone, like the other wizards, sat outside the magic tent and chatted. Mrs. Weasley, however, went home first to feed her livestock.

Not far from the Weasleys' magical tent is a main road leading to the Quidditch pitch, where Ministry of Magic officials can often be seen hurrying by.

However, when they see Arthur, most of them will stop and greet him warmly.

Arthur would also take the opportunity to introduce Jerry, Hermione, and Harry to each other, explaining their names and current positions in the Ministry of Magic.

"Hey, my old buddy Arthur, look at this beautiful weather, wanna place a bet on the game?"

Around four or five o'clock in the afternoon, a middle-aged, fat wizard with springs in his feet, who hopped and skipped as he walked, came to Arthur's side carrying a large sack full of Galleons.

Ludo Bagg, England's best finder a decade ago, now makes a living by betting on football.
