Marvel's Hogwarts Wizard
Chapter 588 The Gap in Strength
Chapter 588 The Gap in Strength (Third Update)
These dragon trainers don't even know the normal flight spells, let alone the more difficult flight spells that Jerry improved.
The wizards in their line of work are most skilled at using the Stunning Spell. Usually, when six to seven dragon tamers hit a dragon with a Stunning Spell at the same time, it can force the dragon into a dormant state.
This is something that ordinary wizards cannot do.
"That's really something, you can't even keep a low profile if you want to!"
Jerry couldn't help but laugh as he watched the Hungarian Tree Bee Dragon break free of its chains and fly towards him.
"Then let's be even more high-profile!"
Thinking that this was also for Snape's sake and for the school's honor, Jerry waved his hand again and drew a portal.
Suddenly, the surging dragon fire rushing towards Jerry was completely sucked into the portal and reappeared on the head of the Hungarian Tree Bee Dragon, which was less than five meters away from him.
"boom!"
The powerful dragon fire sent the Hungarian Tree Bee Dragon plummeting towards the enclosure below.
"Merlin... What did I just see? Mr. Carmen actually used portal magic to perfectly block the dragon flame attack and even sent it flying back."
This portal magic isn't just a movement spell; it's also a defensive and offensive spell!
Ludo's commentary started again.
Meanwhile, Barty, who was next to him, couldn't help but rub his temples, because Barty knew that his workload would increase significantly after he returned.
However, although the dragon's flames were powerful, they clearly could not harm them. The Hungarian Tree Bee Dragon was only caught off guard and was hit by the force of the flames, but it was not injured.
So after falling seven or eight meters, it quickly regained its balance, though it was a little confused as to why the dragon flames it had spewed out reached it.
The fire dragon wasn't a particularly intelligent creature, so it was only stunned for a few seconds before recovering and continuing to fly towards Jerry.
This time, driven by its fighting instincts, it didn't unleash its dragon flames. Instead, it opened its gaping maw and tried to swallow Jerry whole from bottom to top.
However, what awaited it was still a portal.
The audience below looked up at the sky and saw the Hungarian Tree Bee Dragon bite Jerry, but half of its body was shoved into the portal.
Then a bizarre scene unfolded.
Behind the Hungarian Tree Bee Dragon, a new portal opened, and a dragon head with a gaping maw emerged from the portal, biting down on its rear end.
"roar!"
A bloodcurdling roar came from the dragon's head; clearly, it had bitten its own rear end.
"How tragic!"
Hearing the pitiful dragon roar and seeing the bloodied rear end of the Hungarian Horned Bee Dragon in the air, for some reason, the audience's initial worry for Jerry turned into sympathy for the fire dragon.
This Hungarian tree bee dragon was really unlucky to encounter Jerry.
There's no way around it; with Jerry's current strength, even without using any other magic, he can pull off countless tricks with just the portal.
If he had been a little more ruthless, he could have used the portal's spatial cutting ability to decapitate the Hungarian Tree Bee Dragon.
However, it's unnecessary; actually killing them would be too gory and detrimental to Hogwarts' image.
After closing the portal, and watching the Hungarian Hornet Dragon howling in mid-air, Jerry figured it was about time, so he waved his wand:
"Shrink to a smaller size immediately!"
A blue magical ray shot out from the wand, accurately striking the Hungarian Hornet Dragon that was howling but dared not attack Jerry again.
Instantly, the enormous Hungarian Tree Bee Dragon began to shrink at a visible speed, eventually becoming the same size as the previous model, less than the size of a palm.
With a gentle flap of its wings, it appeared before the shrunken Hungarian Tree Bee Dragon, reached out and pinched its head, then lifted it and slowly landed on the boulder below.
At this moment, all the dragon tamers had appeared on the boulders within the enclosure.
"It's up to you now. It will be back to normal in three hours!"
Jerry reached out and handed the shrunken Hungarian Tree Bee Dragon to the petrified and bewildered dragon trainers, while holding up the golden dragon egg in his left hand.
As professional dragon trainers, they were naturally most aware of the dragons' resistance to magic. They were already surprised that the Shrinking Charm could work on the dragons, and that it could last for three hours.
Just how powerful is Mr. Jerry Carmen's magic?
"Congratulations to our Mr. Carmen for successfully passing the competition!"
At that moment, Ludo's voice rang out once again throughout the stadium.
The audience, who were initially in shock because of Jerry's actions, suddenly erupted in the loudest applause in history.
The cheers reached the heavens; even the wizards in the distant village of Hogsmeade could probably hear them.
What did they see? Not a cowardly and timid attempt to steal a dragon egg, but a powerful one-on-one duel between a wizard and a dragon, and a crushing one at that.
Jerry Carmen, through sheer skill and magic, decisively defeated the most dangerous fire dragon in the wizarding world.
That was absolutely brilliant! Absolutely brilliant!
This might be the most exciting match they've ever seen, even more exciting than the Quidditch World Cup where Jerry caught the Seeker in fifteen seconds.
Quidditch is a hobby, but the essence of wizarding is magic. Nothing can excite and thrill wizards more than powerful magic.
"Quiet down, quiet down. Now, let's look at the scores given by the judges!"
Ludo used a megaphone spell to calm the audience for over ten minutes, his voice almost hoarse, before he finally managed to control the situation and get the audience to quiet down and refocus their attention on the referee's table.
The first to give a score was Ms. Maxim. She hesitated for at least fifteen seconds before finally sighing and raising her wand into the air.
A long, silver ribbon-like thing shot out from the wand, twisting and forming a large "10".
Although she was reluctant, she had to admit that it would be too much of a stretch not to give Jerry a perfect score. She wasn't Karkaroff; she still had some self-respect.
Next came Dumbledore, who also gave a score of "10". Then came Ludo and Barty, the two directors of the Ministry of Magic, who fairly gave a perfect score of "10".
Finally, only Durmstrang's principal, Karkaroff, remained.
He really wanted to swallow his pride and give Jerry a "0" score; he was capable of doing it. However, even if he gave him a "0", Jerry's total score would still be "40", two points higher than Krum's.
The result doesn't change anything.
So, seeing everyone staring intently at him, he reluctantly and with great frustration gave a perfect score of "10".
