Chapter 618 The Laws of Time Manipulation

Chapter 618 The Laws of Time Manipulation (First Update)

Evening, Queens Police Department, New York.

Sheriff John Foster, who had just returned from duty, parked his patrol car in the police station yard and was about to clock out when he suddenly noticed a little girl, about ten years old, lying on the lawn.

"Little one, wake up! You can't lie here like that, you'll catch a cold. Where are your family?"

The girl was shaken awake by John, and looked confused.

John said gently:

"Little friend, what's your name? Why are you lying here? Are you lost? Where do you live? I'll take you home."

"I think my name is Lily, Officer. I don't know why I'm lying here, I don't remember where my home is, and I don't remember my family."

Lily opened her eyes, looked at the policeman in front of her, and tried hard to recall her memories. Apart from remembering that her name was Lily and that she was eleven years old, she couldn't remember anything else.

John paused for a moment, then helped Lily up and said gently:

"It's alright, let's go inside and rest for a bit. It's a bit cold here. Uncle will help you find your family."

And so, Sheriff John led Lily into the police station.

Two weeks later, at Sheriff John's house, John and his wife Mary, somewhat nervously, said to Lily, who was sitting in a chair:

"I'm sorry, Lily, we've checked all the records but haven't found your family. If you'd like, Mary and I would like to adopt you as our daughter."

Since John found the amnesiac girl named Lily at the police station that day, and couldn't find her family right away, he took her home to care for her temporarily.

They plan to wait until they find her parents before sending her back.

Unfortunately, after investigating for half a month and even reviewing all the surveillance footage near the police station, no trace was found. It was as if Lily, this little girl with amnesia, had simply fallen from the sky.

Under normal circumstances, Lily would have been sent to a suitable family for adoption. However, after spending half a month together, John and his wife Mary developed feelings for the well-behaved and sensible Lily.

In addition, due to health reasons, the couple was unable to have more children, so they felt that Lily might be a daughter sent to them by God. Therefore, they wanted to formally adopt Lily as their daughter to make up for their regret.

Seeing that John and his wife seemed a little nervous, Lily nodded in agreement without much thought.

The first person she saw was John. Her memories of the past were blank. Moreover, John and Mary had been very kind to her during this time, so of course she wanted to have such parents.

So the next day, John and his wife took Lily to complete all the adoption procedures.

Another half month passed. One day, Lily was helping Mary clean the house when an owl suddenly landed on the balcony, dropped a letter, and flew away.

Lily picked up the letter with some curiosity.

The envelope was unusually made of parchment, and it was written on it:

"To Miss Lily Foster, 277 Grand Street, Queens, New York City"

"Written for me?"

Lily looked at the letter and saw that the recipient was herself, and a look of confusion immediately appeared on her face.

Aside from her adoptive parents and neighbors, she didn't know anyone else.

Turning the letter over, a striking wax seal appeared before her eyes. Around the seal were drawn a water snake with long horns, a strange bird, a six-legged cat, and a goblin.

Lily tore open the envelope and began to read the contents of the letter inside:

Headmaster of Ilfamoni School of Witchcraft and Wizardry: Gilbert Fontana

"Mommy, Mommy, I received a letter delivered by an owl! A magic school wants to accept me!"

Just as Lily was shocked to receive an acceptance letter from a magic school, Jerry, hovering above her house, nodded in satisfaction.

"After all this effort, we've finally completed most of it. The next step is to modify the time laws."

Jerry created the clone Lily and sent her to a magic school in America so that she could grow freely into a truly complete human being.

The Lily that Snape encounters in the future, although not Lily Evans but Lily Foster, is a true witch with her own emotions and experiences.

However, to prevent Lily Foster from falling in love with someone else before meeting Snape, he deliberately left two mental suggestions in Lily's mind.

The first psychological suggestion is that Lily will not date anyone before she turns thirty-four, and the second is that she needs to receive a specific message at the age of thirty-four to be triggered.

Of course, none of these things were difficult for Jerry. The real challenge was figuring out what kind of impact it would have on the laws of time and the future world if he suddenly added another person from twenty-three years ago.

It's important to know that the effect of a butterfly flapping its wings can potentially cause a storm.

Not to mention that he actually added another person into the group.

Although it was added to the United States rather than the United Kingdom, it could still have a huge impact on the world.

According to the laws of time in this world, history cannot be changed. If it is changed, it will cause some disastrous consequences and powerful backlash.

Just like Jerry once read in a book, there was once a wizard who relied on his very deep research into time magic.

Forcibly altering some things during time travel caused a series of chain reactions. Some people disappeared inexplicably, while others appeared inexplicably. The wizard himself also disappeared from this world due to the powerful backlash after time was restored.

However, given Jerry's current level of understanding of the laws of this small world, he can minimize this backlash and ultimately rely on his powerful strength to easily withstand the negligible aftershocks.

In essence, he used the laws he comprehended to connect with this world, then simply manipulated the laws of time, relying on his powerful abilities to correct some of the butterfly effects caused by Lily's appearance.

Then let the world continue on its previous trajectory.

The process is very complicated. For example, if Lily hadn't existed before, John and his wife would have adopted another child. But now that Lily has appeared, that child will be adopted by someone else.

In this way, history was changed.
