Chapter 670 The Death of Gu 1

Chapter 670 The Death of the Ancient One (First Update)

After his conversation with the Ancient One, Jerry stayed in Kamar-Taj for the time being, waiting to see how things would develop.

In Gu Yi's words, it's best to just let things take their natural course.

Although Stephen is currently studying magic in Kamar-Taj, he still wants to go back to being his doctor once his hand is fully healed.

If we want him to stay in Kamar-Taj and take on the responsibilities of the Sorcerer Supreme, then he needs to experience many things, and neither the Ancient One nor Jerry should interfere.

If they get involved, things may not achieve the desired effect.

One week later.

In the living room of Kamar-Taj, Jerry is discussing time magic with the Ancient One.

Now, having absorbed and comprehended a large number of laws, and having discussed magic with Clow Reed from the Ring World, Jerry's understanding of the laws of time has made great progress.

If in the past when he and the Ancient One discussed magic, it was basically the Ancient One explaining some magical principles to him, then now the two of them are truly discussing it with each other.

"Your Excellency, the London Sanctuary has been attacked by Casillas. All the guardian mages have perished, the sanctuary's magic array has been destroyed, and Stephen has gone missing."

Mordo and Wang, the two sorcerers second only to the Ancient One in Kamar-Taj, stormed into the living room, looking disheveled.

Ancient One stopped her discussion with Jerry, slowly stood up, and instructed Mordo and Wong:

"My king, you take men to guard the Hong Kong sanctuary. Mordo, you come with me to the London sanctuary to rescue Stephen!"

After saying that, she looked at Jerry again:

"Excuse me, Mage Carmen, it seems our discussion must end here. I must take my leave now."

"Your Excellency, are you sure you want to do this?"

Jerry's tone carried a hint of regret.

He knew that when the Ancient One spoke of leaving, she didn't mean leaving Kamar-Taj, but leaving this world. But to be honest, he was quite reluctant to part with her.

Over the years, he has learned a lot of magical knowledge from the Ancient One, who can be considered his half-magic teacher.

Moreover, for him, whether the Ancient One is dead or alive does not affect his ability to ambush Dormammu, and may even be of great help.

Unfortunately, the Ancient One was clearly determined to leave, no longer wanting to be bound by the position of Sorcerer Supreme. She simply nodded slightly and then smiled:

"Venerable Carmen, I'll probably be troubling you a lot in the future!"

"Okay, I understand."

Jerry paused for a moment, then smiled.

He never liked to force things on others or impose his ideas on them. Since the Ancient One felt that death and the soul following eternity was a kind of liberation, why should he destroy the Ancient One's liberation?

Even if he felt that it wasn't true liberation, he would never abandon his physical body to follow in the footsteps of eternity.

Eternity is indeed powerful, a top-tier powerhouse at the multiverse level. Considering the many universes in Marvel, he is probably much more powerful than the creator gods of the Magic Card series.

But Jerry doesn't want to be someone's underling. What he wants is freedom, uncontrollable power. He will continue to grow stronger in the future, and even surpass Eternity.

After seeing the Ancient One and Mordo leave, Jerry did not stay in Kamar-Taj. Instead, he Apparated and appeared in a hospital in Manhattan, New York.

This is the hospital where Stephen worked before he was injured, and it's also where the Ancient One will die later.

However, right now, Stephen is still engaged in a battle of souls with Casillas's men in the hospital.

"He really is talented; no wonder he was chosen as the next Sorcerer Supreme."

Jerry watched as Stephen had his ex-girlfriend Christine use a stun gun to shock his body, thereby strengthening his soul and defeating Casillas's men in one fell swoop, and couldn't help but think to himself.

Soul magic, like time magic, is extremely difficult to master. Many Kamar-Taj sorcerers without talent may never master soul magic in their entire lives.

Steve was able to use it with ease in less than a year.

So sometimes, Jerry would think of that famous saying that has been repeated countless times: "A person's success = 99 percent perspiration + 1 percent inspiration," and he would find it utterly ridiculous.

The reality is that most naturally gifted players can easily defeat hard-working players.

Sometimes, even if a hard-working person works themselves to death, they may not be as successful as a naturally gifted person who can achieve something with a single effort.

Most inspirational quotes in this world are just meant to comfort those who lack talent, because only in this way can society be more stable.

Besides, it's true that trying is better than not trying, but it's not nearly as inspiring as motivational quotes.

After defeating Casillas's henchmen, Stephen briefly said goodbye to a bewildered Christine and then opened a portal back to the London Sanctuary.

About half an hour later, a mirror space spell emanated from the New York Sanctuary.

"open!"

Floating above the city, Jerry gently swiped forward, skillfully creating a visible slit in the unfolding mirror space magic without damaging it, allowing it to continue functioning normally.

Inside the mirror space, Stephen and Mordo were fleeing frantically, while behind them were Kaecilius and the others, who had absorbed a large amount of dark power and whose magical power had greatly increased.

Jerry did not offer any help, because the Ancient One had already appeared in the Mirror Dimension.

She seemed to have noticed Jerry's presence, smiled in his direction, and then started fighting with Casillas and the others.

A moment later, the Ancient One was pierced through the abdomen by Kaecilius's sword, kicked out of the Mirror Dimension, and slammed hard onto the street, falling into a near-death state.

Jerry, who had been watching what was happening, couldn't help but cover his eyes.

It wasn't that I was too saddened to see the Ancient One dying, but rather that the way she had designed her own death was simply too much to bear.

The Ancient One was a peak-level being of the same caliber as him, the Celestial Father. She powerfully borrowed a large amount of magical power from dimensional demons, making her strong enough to traverse the multiverse alone.

It's too hasty for him to die from a fall like that.

Even if his abdomen were pierced and he fell from a tall building, or even if he were torn into eight pieces and his flesh turned into mincemeat, he felt that the Ancient One would not die even if she didn't want to.

Anyway, with Jerry's current abilities, as long as his soul doesn't die, he can easily recreate his physical body using more than a dozen methods, and then he can recover to his peak condition after some rest.

Moreover, there is no rule in the Marvel universe that states that no one can be brought back to life after death.

"Stephen, it seems the Ancient One really went to great lengths to get you to willingly become the Sorcerer Supreme!"

Seeing Stephen bring the dying Ancient One to the hospital where he used to work, wanting to perform surgery to save her, Jerry slowly landed on the hospital roof.
