Chapter 796 Catwoman's Revenge

Chapter 796 Catwoman's Revenge (First Update)

"Egyptian cat god, I died, I rose again, this..."

Upon hearing Jerry's explanation, Catwoman instinctively thought he was talking nonsense, but at that moment, some long-forgotten memories suddenly surfaced in her mind.

That was the scene she saw as she was swept into the river and suffocated, just as her soul was about to leave her body.

She saw the tabby cat Jerry had mentioned, the same one that had been on the air conditioner unit earlier. It stood on her corpse and meowed at her, which woke her up.

Catwoman sprang to her feet and nimbly leaped off the bed, landing directly on the chair in front of the table. No longer afraid of Jerry beside her, she squatted on the chair and began searching quickly on the computer.

Soon, she found a large number of legends about Egyptian cat goddesses on the Internet, as well as various legendary stories of cat women throughout history.

"What are your plans?"

Jerry reached out to lick his paw, but reason quickly prevailed over instinct, forcibly stopping the unnecessary action.

After a long pause, Catwoman slowly replied:

"If that's the case, then I need to find the person who's hunting me down, find out why he wants to kill me, and make him pay for it."

"I can help you, just consider it payment for the next few days' room."

Jerry replied upon hearing this.

Based on the information he found in the main world and compared it with the current situation, he already knew that the murderer who killed Catwoman was actually Laurel, the boss of her cosmetics company.

The magical cosmetics that Laurel Company is currently producing, which claim to reverse aging, have huge side effects; long-term use can cause the skin to completely lose sensation.

If you stop using it for a period of time, your skin will start to slowly rot.

Helping Catwoman bring down Laurel, reveal the truth, and stop the sale of toxic cosmetics is certainly a great thing, and the reward for it should be quite substantial.

"That's fantastic!"

Catwoman's eyes lit up when she heard that Jerry was willing to help.

With a magical cat to help, many things become much simpler, even though before last night she never believed that magic existed in this world.

"What flavor of cat food do you like? I'll go buy it for you right now."

"No, thank you. I don't like cat food. I like chicken legs, braised ones."

Jerry flicked his tail, and suddenly a plate of braised chicken legs appeared in front of him.

"This is yours."

He picked up a chicken leg, glanced at the dumbfounded catwoman in front of him, and flicked his tail again, adding a glass of milk, a sandwich, and a plate of dried fish to the table.

Transfiguration spells, especially those that transform into small, non-magical objects, actually consume very little magic power for Jerry.

He can continuously absorb energy and convert it into magic to abstain from grains, but the purpose of abstaining from grains is not to stop eating, but simply to survive in harsh environments without food and not starve to death.

Normally, he is quite interested in food.

With a certain amount of magic power in my body, spending some magic power to have a decent breakfast in the morning is a very worthwhile thing to do.

"Wow, I never imagined your magic could do something like this."

Catwoman stared at the food that had appeared out of nowhere and couldn't help but cover her mouth in amazement.

"I said, are you really going to return all of this?"

Across from the jewelry store, surrounded by police and onlookers, Jerry, perched on Catwoman's shoulder, asked with amusement.

Catwoman hid behind a large pillar, looking at her policeman boyfriend Tom, whom she had only recently met, in the jewelry store, and then at the jewelry in the bag, her expression one of great reluctance.

"I really want to keep them; they're so beautiful, especially this necklace!"

"A necklace from Egypt, no wonder you like it."

Jerry looked at the necklace with Egyptian hieroglyphs that Catwoman took out of the bag and immediately understood.

The catwoman, resurrected using the power of the Egyptian cat god, has, due to the fusion of divine power, her personality and preferences are becoming more like those of an Egyptian cat.

Therefore, many of her preferences are similar to those of cats. For example, she likes to eat the dried fish that Jerry conjures up for her in the morning, likes things related to Egypt, is very curious, likes adventure, curiosity and theft, and especially dislikes getting wet in the rain.

Although Catwoman is now human, she is becoming more and more like a cat, especially at night.

Jerry, on the other hand, has the body of a cat, but is just like a human in every other way except for his physical appearance, including his eating habits.

"Alright, let's get on with the work!"

Seeing that Catwoman was still hesitating, Jerry shook his head, flicked his tail, and turned the necklace from one piece into two.

For items without magic power, the amount of magic power required to transform them into stones and diamonds is not significantly different. The amount of magic power consumed depends mostly on the size and complexity of the object being transformed.

Therefore, the magic power Jerry used to conjure up another identical Egyptian necklace was less than the magic power he used to conjure up the breakfasts that morning.

"Jerry, you wouldn't happen to be Bastet, the cat god, would you?!"

Catwoman's eyes widened when she saw Jerry conjure up the same necklace.

She was surprised to see breakfast appear out of nowhere, but she could accept it, since she could make that breakfast herself with a little time.

But if it's a priceless Egyptian necklace, that's a different story.

It's worth noting that this Egyptian necklace is described as the only one of its kind in the world, and it's a non-sale item used for display in jewelry stores; it's incredibly valuable and extremely expensive.

So she now strongly suspects that Jerry might be the Egyptian cat god who saved her life.

"No, Bastet is a tabby cat, while I am a tabby cat; we are different breeds."

Jerry perched on Catwoman's shoulder, flicking his tail behind her head to remind her to stop overthinking and hurry up and return the things to get down to business.

Catwoman happily put the Egyptian necklace into her small purse, then put the necklace that Jerry had conjured into her bag, bought a box of small cakes from a nearby cake shop, and quietly went to the back door of the jewelry store.

Avoiding the cameras, she lightly jumped over the high wall, placed the bag full of jewelry and cake at the back door, and then left with Jerry to the company's product manufacturing base where she had been chased earlier.

An hour later, in a corner of the Meiling Cosmetics production base.

"It was him. He was the one who shot me."

Catwoman pointed to a burly man in a suit patrolling ahead, baring her teeth and angrily explaining to Jerry:

"That day at the base, I overheard a researcher saying that Meiling cosmetics were poisonous. Because I made a little noise, this guy chased me with a gun."

I need to know why he's hunting me down, and who's behind it all.
