Chapter 809 Gift of the Magic Mirror
Chapter 809 The Gift of the Magic Mirror (Second Update)
"What did you do to me?"
After Louise regained consciousness, she looked at Jerry with a horrified expression.
She didn't understand what had just happened to her. As if bewitched, she felt that the person in front of her was very trustworthy and actually told him everything about her experiences and the results of her investigation.
Jerry smiled and put his hand on Louise's shoulder.
"Don't be afraid, I mean you no harm. You want to see Clark, right? I'll take you to him."
The space distorted, and the two disappeared from the spot.
When they reappeared, they were in front of the cemetery in the town of Morville.
Now that he knows where he is in the universe, Jerry naturally knows that Superman should be back from the North Pole and is paying respects to his deceased adoptive father, Jonathan Kent, at his grave.
"Oh God, what's happening!"
Louise felt a blur before her eyes, and the surrounding environment changed drastically. She immediately covered her mouth and exclaimed in surprise again.
At that moment, Clark, who was squatting in front of the tombstone, also noticed the strange thing behind him, got up and turned around.
"Is that you?"
He had already recognized the blonde woman in red as the human reporter who had broken into the spaceship that day.
Louise turned to look at Clark, her initial exclamation turning into delight.
"I knew it! As long as I dug enough, I was sure I'd find you!"
"You shouldn't be looking for me, and you shouldn't be digging into my story anymore. The world isn't ready to know I exist yet."
Clark looked at Louise with a hint of helplessness on his face.
He had learned about his origins from the Kryptonian spaceship in the Arctic, combining his thirty-three years of experience on Earth with the ideas his adoptive father had instilled in him since childhood.
He understood perfectly well that people might not necessarily welcome his existence; they might even fear and ostracize him.
Therefore, even when he was saving people, he always kept his identity hidden and didn't let others discover it.
"You can't hide it. Someone will eventually take your picture and figure out where you live, unless you decide not to save people anymore, but that doesn't seem to be your choice."
Louise clearly wasn't going to give up so easily.
Clark shook his head, then turned his gaze to Jerry, who had been standing there watching the commotion.
"Sir, who are you?"
He knew Louise's identity well—a helpful female reporter for the Global Times—but he had no recollection of the man who brought her over.
If the other person is just an ordinary person, he wouldn't care much.
However, in his powerful senses, the person opposite him seemed to be quite extraordinary, especially since he hadn't even noticed how the other party had brought Louise over; it was as if she had appeared out of thin air.
"I don't know him. He was at your door when I arrived at your house. Then, he used strange methods to get me to tell your story, and then suddenly appeared here with me."
Before Jerry could explain, Louise spoke with a wary look on her face, and then she quietly stood behind Clark.
While investigating Clark's identity, she discovered that Clark had been saving people and was clearly a kind alien, but she didn't know whether the guy in front of her was good or bad.
Upon hearing this, Clark frowned slightly.
Seeing this, Jerry raised his hand to signal the two to relax:
"Don't be so wary of me, I mean no harm. Let me introduce myself, my name is Jerry Carmen, a human mage. I'm here to confirm some things that my magic foretold."
"A magician? Magic really exists in this world!"
Louise had an incredulous expression on her face.
Jerry shrugged:
"Of course, Miss Louise, the world is not as simple as you imagine. There are not only magicians, but also various gods, demons, angels, and even aliens—Mr. Clark is not the only one on Earth!"
To prove it, he even reached out and cast a Transfiguration spell on a nearby rock, turning it into a pink pig.
Clark and Louise froze, staring at the pink pig frolicking on the ground.
"Then, sir magician, what brings you here?"
After regaining his senses, Clark asked Jerry again.
Having lived for thirty-three years, although he had been different from ordinary people since childhood, his cognition was still that of Earth humans. It was only in the last two days that he learned that he came from the alien civilization of Krypton.
He was completely baffled that a magician had actually found him.
"Just like I just said, I predicted that a very serious crisis would occur on Earth, and the root of this crisis lies in you, which is why I came here to find you."
Jerry replied with an air of seriousness.
"The crisis originates from me? Mr. Magician, I think you must be mistaken. Although I am an alien, I have always grown up on Earth."
This is my second hometown, and now my only hometown. I will only use my abilities to protect it, not harm it.
Clark assumed Jerry was referring to him as the crisis, so he quickly began to explain.
Louise, standing nearby, chimed in:
"I can testify to this. Clark has been helping humanity all along, and I have a lot of evidence of his help to humanity."
"I originally thought you were the crisis, but after seeing you, I don't think so. However, it might be related to you, but I can't be sure what it is right now."
Jerry, spouting nonsense, handed a mirror to Clark with a very serious expression.
"This is my magic mirror. You can contact me by calling my name into it. If there are any problems, you can use it to find me. I have to go now."
After handing the magic mirror to Clark, Jerry immediately Apparated and disappeared from the spot, leaving Clay and Louise looking at each other in bewilderment.
To regain the strength to absorb and fuse the Mother Box and the Anti-Life Equation, it will definitely be necessary to convert a large number of Little Red Stars into magic, and the upcoming General Zod and his subordinates will be a good source of Little Red Stars.
General Zod and his men, like Superman, were Kryptonians. Because they did not want the Kryptonian civilization to be destroyed, they rebelled and were eventually exiled to the Phantom Zone by the Kryptonian Council, where they watched helplessly as Krypton was destroyed and the civilization perished.
After leaving Krypton, in order to rebuild Kryptonian civilization, he led his subordinates to Earth, hoping to obtain the fundamental compendium of Kryptonian civilization from Clark.
Then, at the cost of destroying Earth's civilization, they will transform Earth into a second Krypton.
Therefore, dealing with the little red stars given by Zod and the Kryptonians is definitely not comparable to the small-scale skirmishes in Gotham.
Of course, the Kryptonians' strength is not on the same level as Gotham's criminals.
Fortunately, if he remembered correctly, Kryptonians' magic resistance wasn't very high, so teaming up with Clark shouldn't be too much of a problem.
