Chapter 84: The Foundations and Extensions of Alchemy (Third Update)

Midnight

Jerry quietly left the Slytherin dormitory, skillfully evaded the patrolling Filch, knocked out Mrs. Lorris with catnip powder, and arrived at the eighth floor of the castle.

Today he didn't go to the Room of Requirement, but instead came to the entrance of the Gryffindor common room, in front of the portrait of the Fat Lady.

"Let's go to the library!"

Seeing Harry, Hermione, and Ron emerge from behind the portrait, Jerry quietly waved to them and led the way downstairs.

However, when they passed the sixth floor, Harry and his friends were startled to see Mrs. Lorris sitting on the floor by the escalator, seemingly in a sage-like state, and almost turned around and ran away.

They knew just how formidable Loris the tattletale cat was.

"It's alright, don't worry. She'll probably need to lie here for two or three hours to recover!"

Upon hearing Jerry's words, the three noticed that after seeing them, Mrs. Lorice merely glanced at them before falling into a daze again, seemingly lost in thought about something wonderful, her mouth practically watering.

When the four of them reached the third floor, Jerry suddenly paused for a moment before continuing to walk up to the second floor.

Having activated his Superman mode, he had just sensed that there was no one around him when a gaze swept over him, and he also smelled the same scent as when Harry and the others came out of the fourth floor last time.

He knew that Dumbledore must have come over using the Disillusionment Charm.

As the headmaster of Hogwarts, he wouldn't, like other professors, interfere with the young wizards' nighttime outings, nor would he allow the ubiquitous portraits to monitor where the young wizards went or what they did, but Harry was definitely an exception.

As soon as Harry leaves the common room, the Fat Lady will probably report this to Dumbledore very quickly.

"Everyone, look for books related to his biography. If you can't find any, try books on potions, alchemy, etc. He might not be a conventional wizard after all!"

After saying that, he began to rummage through the bookshelf.

However, given that Dumbledore might be watching from the sidelines, he didn't touch any books related to dark magic. Instead, he looked through biographies, alchemy books, potion books, and other books that were less likely to attract Dumbledore's attention.

Jerry quickly stuffed the book "Fundamentals and Extensions of Alchemy" into his pocket and dragged Hermione outside.

Filch seemed to have noticed their footsteps as well, and was hot on their heels.

"Let's go back to the lounge first!"

Upon reaching the eighth floor, Ron immediately suggested returning to the Gryffindor common room to hide for a while, as Filch couldn't enter the common room without the password.

However, Hermione immediately rejected this suggestion:

"It's too late. Even with the password, by the time it takes to wake the fat lady and get her to open the door, Filch will have already caught up!"

Hermione remembered the last time they came back at midnight, she complained for a long time before opening the door for them because they had woken the fat lady from her sweet dream.

Filch is hot on our heels right now, there's no time for that.

"It's alright, come with me, I know a place where we can escape Filch for a while!"

Hearing the approaching footsteps behind them, Jerry didn't waste any words and led the three of them straight towards the House of Requirement.

In fact, he had many ways to get rid of Filch, but now he chose the Room of Requirement.

Because Dumbledore is still with them.

Jerry knew that he could hide his nightly visits to the Room of Requirement from Filch and Mrs. Lorris, but he could never hide it from Dumbledore.

After all, no matter how powerful he was, he couldn't possibly avoid all the murals that were everywhere in the castle.

However, the Room of Requirement is not a particularly evil place. At least Dumbledore is unaware that Voldemort's Horcruxes are in the Room of Requirement's stash room.

A young wizard accidentally discovers a house where wishes can come true, and he comes to play there every day. That should be acceptable, right?

Now that Jerry has brought Harry and the other two along, he can better demonstrate to Dumbledore that he has a clear conscience.

If someone wants to do something bad in secret, they can't just bring other people to their secret base.

As for whether Harry, his two friends, and the others knowing about the Room of Requirement will affect him?

Of course not. They can't possibly come to the Room of Requirement after midnight every day, and Jerry doesn't need the Room of Requirement at other times either.

"What is this?"

As Jerry walked past the white wall three times in a row, a door suddenly appeared on the wall, and Harry, Harry, and the others stared wide-eyed.

"This is a really interesting place I stumbled upon, come on in!"

Jerry waved and led the three of them into the Room of Requirement.
