Chapter 857 Jerry, Candidate for Godhood (First Update)

"Tao Pai Pai!!!"

Goku awoke from his unconsciousness, rubbing the back of his head which was aching, and then angrily assumed the starting stance of the Turtle School of martial arts.

However, after his eyes swept around, he was dumbfounded.

Tao Pai Pai was gone, and Bora, whom Tao Pai Pai had just killed, was standing there unharmed, with a young man he didn't recognize next to him.

"What's going on?"

"Judging from your Turtle Hermitage fighting suit, who is your master?"

Seeing that Wukong had woken up, Jerry walked over with a smile.

"Master? You mean Master Roshi? Who are you, and where is Tao Pai Pai?"

Wukong tilted his head, looking completely bewildered.

"Brother Goku, that's Brother Jerry, the one who climbed Korin Tower a year ago. It was Brother Jerry who appeared and saved Dad, and then defeated that bad guy."

Before Jerry could answer, little Upa, sitting on Bra's shoulders, had already given a brief account of what had happened.

"You're amazing! You defeated Tao Pai Pai in one go. I wasn't a match for him just now."

Goku is rather oblivious; he doesn't care at all about Tao Pai Pai turning into a toad. He just admires Jerry for being able to defeat the powerful Tao Pai Pai.

"Actually, you can call me senior brother, because my master is also Master Roshi."

Jerry looked at Sun Wukong, who was about the same age as him but only reached his chest, and laughed.

According to the body's age in this world, he should have been two years younger than Goku, but because he spent two years in the Time Chamber in the Temple of Gods, his actual age is the same as Goku's.

However, because his body was tempered by magic, he developed very quickly and looked like he was sixteen or seventeen years old, and he was also quite tall.

As for Wukong, it seems that he didn't start to develop until he was fifteen years old.

Wukong thought for a moment, then replied.

After the last World Martial Arts Tournament, he embarked on another adventure to find the Dragon Balls, but not to collect all seven to make a wish; he simply wanted to obtain the Four-Star Dragon Ball, a relic left by his grandfather.

However, on his way to find the four-star planet using Bulma's Dragon Radar, he encountered the Red Ribbon Army, who were also collecting Dragon Balls.

The Red Ribbon Army is a massive warlord force that has committed numerous atrocities and is entrenched throughout the world. Each of its generals possesses remarkable abilities.

Along the way, he met many friends who had been hurt by the Red Ribbon Legion, and also defeated many generals and their troops.

Now that the Red Ribbon Legion has hired the world's number one assassin to kill him, he simply feels that he should eliminate this legion so that they can no longer do evil.

"Then let's climb Kalin Tower. With your current strength, you should be able to make it. Wait until you're stronger, then you'll have a better chance!"

Jerry patted Wukong on the shoulder.

"Can the Super Holy Water really increase strength?"

Wukong's expression immediately became excited.

Jerry laughed heartily:

"You'll see when you get up there. Anyway, my strength has definitely increased several times over."

The old god, leaning on his cane, walked toward Jerry, who was meditating with his eyes closed.

Jerry opened his eyes and nodded:

"Yes, Your Majesty!"

Ever since the last time Bora was brought back to life, the Old God had a talk with Jerry.

The conversation mainly consisted of the old god recounting his origins and the events that led to him splitting Piccolo from his body to become the god. He also expressed his desire for Jerry to succeed him as the Earth god.

Jerry readily agreed to inherit the position of Earth's God.

By inheriting the position of a god, he would enter the pantheon of this world, gain access to more of its secrets, and have easier access to the higher echelons of the divine realm.

The only limitation is that the gods cannot easily leave their planet in order to protect it.

But this is too easy for Jerry. If he wants to leave, he can just leave behind a magical clone. Moreover, he can teleport, so if anything happens on Earth, he can return instantly.

As long as the Earth is not destroyed, then he will naturally be qualified as a god.

"Jerry, come here, grab my arm, I'll take you to the entrance to the underworld!"

God waved to Jerry.

Jerry immediately stepped forward and grabbed one of the old god's arms.

In an instant, the two disappeared from the spot.

Earth, the place where the human world and the underworld meet, within the Five Elements Mountain.

"My Lord, your teleportation seems somewhat different from my magical teleportation?"

Standing before a huge, burning boiler, Jerry asked the old god with some curiosity.

He had just had the old god teleport him, and he discovered that the other party was not using the laws of space, but rather an alternative law.

The heavens smiled kindly:

"Of course it's different. My teleportation is an ability attached to my position as a celestial being. I can't use it in the normal world; I can only travel between the Yin and Yang realms. This is the intersection of the Yin and Yang realms, which is why I can teleport here. I can't teleport to other places."

The abilities of the gods come partly from the powers granted by their divine positions and partly from their own inherent abilities.

The abilities such as teleportation between the realms of Yin and Yang, mind reading, telekinesis, possession of humans, and creation of physical bodies are all additional abilities granted by the divine office after becoming a god. If one resigns from the position, these abilities are lost.

The ability to create Dragon Balls, conjure objects out of thin air, and regenerate severed limbs are racial abilities inherent to Namekians.

Therefore, in the election of gods, the stronger one is and the more special abilities one has, the easier it is to be selected to become a god.

Jerry possesses immense physical strength and various magical abilities, making him the best candidate to become a god.

"Lord Laozi! Lord Laozi!"

After answering Jerry's question, the old man shouted loudly towards the huge boiler in front of him.

A moment later, a little old man with a halo around his head walked out from behind the huge boiler.

"So it's the Heavenly God. Please wait a moment. The Supreme Lord Laozi is eating the spaghetti I just cooked. He'll be here shortly."
