Chapter 133 Mission Completed

Esdeath's voice suddenly rang out, and then she slammed her palm onto the ground, instantly releasing a pale blue aura.

"Buzz!"

In that instant, the whole world seemed to be put on pause.

Water vapor in the air condenses at a speed visible to the naked eye, turning into countless tiny ice crystals that float in mid-air.

Esdeath slowly stood up. The wound on her abdomen had stopped bleeding, and the bright red blood had congealed into dark red ice crystals.

"Truly a worthy opponent to excite me so much."

She walked toward Sakazuki, who was frozen in place, maintaining a wary posture but completely still, unable to even blink.

"Did you know? This space is almost at absolute zero. Ordinary creatures here wouldn't even have a chance to think before they'd freeze into ice sculptures instantly. Even you wouldn't be able to move in this state, would you?"

Esdeath reached out and gently stroked Sakazuki's stiff face. The moment her fingertips touched him, they left a tiny icy mark on his skin.

"Too bad, if you had given up, we might have had even more fun."

Esdeath flicked her right hand, and a crystal-clear ice blade materialized out of thin air. She stared coldly at the motionless Sakazuki.

"Pfft!"

The ice blade pierced Sakazuki's chest with pinpoint accuracy, and a chill instantly spread. Esdeath's lips curled into a victorious smile.

She leaned close to Sakazuki's ear and whispered, "I won this game."

Esdeath was about to pull her hand back when she suddenly felt a powerful force gripping her wrist. Startled, she looked down and saw a hand covered in jet-black Armament Haki firmly holding her.

"What?!"

Esdeath stared wide-eyed at Sakazuki in disbelief. The magma frozen on Sakazuki's body, which had been motionless, began to flow again.

"How is this possible?!" Esdeath exclaimed, her voice filled with shock and disbelief. "How can you still move? This is impossible!"

She struggled desperately to break free from Sakazuki's grip, only to find her wrists firmly fixed and unable to move.

The next second, Sakazuki's body suddenly emitted a blinding red light, and the temperature rose sharply. The intense heat generated visible heat in the near-absolute-zero space.

"I see." Esdeath murmured to herself, a look of realization flashing in her eyes. "You used the power of magma to forcibly raise your body temperature."

"Although this space is close to absolute zero, it's not a true time stop. You resisted my abilities by using your extremely high body temperature!"

Esdeath's expression shifted from shock to excitement, a maniacal smile creeping onto her lips: "As expected of you! To find such a countermeasure is amazing! This is true strength!"

At this moment, Sakazuki had completely thawed. He slowly raised his head and coldly stared at Esdeath: "There is no such thing as invincible power in the world."

Before she could finish speaking, Sakazuki's right arm suddenly turned into scalding lava. Esdeath's pupils constricted sharply, and she instinctively tried to break free, but Sakazuki held her wrist firmly in his grasp.

Esdeath clenched her teeth, enduring the excruciating pain in her abdomen, and quickly conjured a thick layer of ice armor on her left hand.

"boom!"

Their fists collided violently in mid-air, ice and fire clashing once more, unleashing a deafening roar.

However, Esdeath's abdominal wound suddenly burst open, and blood gushed out. Her attack was instantly thwarted, and her ice armor melted rapidly under the high temperature.

"Damn it. The injury is too severe."

A cold glint flashed in Sakazuki's eyes, and he instantly seized the opportunity. His right fist once again transformed into scalding magma and blasted out like a cannonball.

"Kinniku Guren!"

The scorching magma instantly pierced through her body and exploded behind her. Esdeath stared wide-eyed at the gaping hole in her chest, blood gushing out.

"Cough cough." Esdeath coughed violently, blood spilling from the corner of her mouth. She staggered back a few steps and finally fell heavily to the ground.

Sakazuki slowly approached, looking down at Esdeath lying on the ground. Blood continued to gush from the huge wound on Esdeath's chest, but a smug smile played on her lips.

"What a wonderful battle." Esdeath spoke with difficulty, her voice weak but still full of passion. She raised her eyes, looking directly at Sakazuki, her eyes flashing with fanaticism.

"Your strength... is incredible. I've never faced such a formidable opponent."

She suddenly coughed violently and spat out a mouthful of blood. But even so, the smile on her face did not disappear; instead, it became even brighter.

"I wish this battle could go on forever."

Esdeath's voice grew weaker and weaker, but the fighting spirit in her eyes did not diminish in the slightest. Before she finished speaking, her hand fell limply to her side, and her head tilted to one side.

With Esdeath's death, the effects of the Mahaprajapati disappeared instantly. The surrounding air suddenly warmed, and the suspended ice crystals fell like a sudden ice rain.

Not far away, the Night Raid members stared in disbelief at the scene. Tatsumi rubbed his eyes and muttered, "What...what happened? How could Esdeath..."

"It's over," Najenda said softly, her voice tinged with disbelief. "That man... he defeated Esdeath."

Sakazuki stood there, looking down at Esdeath's corpse. A deep wound ran down her chest to her heart, blood seeping from it. He raised his hand to press against the wound, his brow furrowed.

"Indeed a formidable opponent," Sakazuki murmured. "Unfortunately, you are limited by this world."

He paused, a hint of regret in his voice: "You might grow stronger in a wider world."

Sakazuki raised his hand to press on the wound on his chest; he too hadn't emerged unscathed from this battle. Esdeath's strength was indeed astonishing.

Not far away, the Night Raid members watched Sakazuki intently. Leona clenched her fists, her muscles tense, ready to respond to any possible attack. Akame quietly moved in front of Tatsumi, her hand on the hilt of her sword.

"What will he do?" Najenda asked in a low voice, her eyes never leaving Sakazuki's figure.

Tatsumi shook his head, his voice trembling slightly: "I don't know, but the person who could defeat Esdeath is probably us..."

Just then, a cold, mechanical voice suddenly rang in Sakazuki's mind.

[Main quest completed, wish to return?]

Sakazuki paused for a moment, then decisively replied, "Return."

As soon as he finished speaking, Sakazuki's consciousness seemed to be pulled into darkness by an invisible force. In the blink of an eye, Sakazuki's figure disappeared completely, leaving behind only a devastated battlefield.

"He...he's disappeared?" Leona exclaimed, her voice filled with disbelief.

The raiders looked at each other, falling silent for a moment, unsure how to explain what had just happened.

At this moment, Akame slowly stepped forward, knelt down, and examined Esdeath's body. She looked up at the others, her expression serious: "Whoever that person was, he did defeat Esdeath. Now, we should consider what to do next."

Tatsumi nodded, taking a deep breath: "That's right, Esdeath has fallen. We must seize this opportunity to completely overthrow this corrupt empire!"
