Chapter 147 The Secret Letter Recalls Fugaku's Worries

Ban looked down at his battered body and let out a low laugh.

"Truly... astonishing power." Madara's voice was hoarse and deep, with a hint of barely concealed excitement. "In my long life, there are very few battles that have given me such excitement."

Suddenly, Ban's body trembled violently, and he coughed up a mouthful of blood, which splattered on the ground.

Ban frowned as he looked at his wound, realizing that the injury was more serious than he had imagined and that it would probably be difficult to fully recover in a short time.

Madara Uchiha looked at Might Guy in the distance. At this moment, his body began to disintegrate at a visible speed, peeling off like ashes from burnt paper.

"As a return gift, I will personally see you off on your journey."

Someone noticed Matt Day not far away and immediately ran over to check on him.

"That's... Might Guy?" a ninja exclaimed in surprise. "What's he doing here?"

"Here! I've found Lord Namikaze!" A medical ninja rushed to Minato's side and immediately began to check on his condition. His palm glowed green as he gently placed it over Minato's chest.

"Lord Namikaze still has vital signs!" the medical ninja shouted, a glimmer of hope in his voice. "Quickly, we must get him back to the village immediately for treatment!"

Fugaku reached down and took the scroll, quickly untying the rope. As the scroll unfurled, his eyes scanned the contents rapidly, his expression gradually becoming serious.

"A major incident has occurred in the village. You are required to return immediately. The remaining ninjas will continue to guard the defense line." Fugaku repeated the contents of the scroll in a low voice, his brows furrowed.

"What exactly happened?" Fugaku muttered to himself. "Why not just state the specifics directly? This vague wording only makes me more worried..."

His thoughts were interrupted by his adjutant who suddenly burst in. "Lord Fugaku, there's new information from the front!"

Fugaku took a deep breath, rolled up the scroll, and said calmly, "It seems there's been some trouble in the village, and they want me to return immediately."

Fugaku frowned upon hearing the other person's tone, but said nothing more and strode into the village. However, the scene that came into view made him frown even more.

The once bustling streets were now eerily empty, like a ghost town.

At that moment, Fugaku noticed shadowy figures moving behind the windows all around him. Villagers, hiding inside, were furtively eyeing him with terrified looks. Their eyes were filled with fear and suspicion, as if they were looking at a horrible criminal.

The next second, Fugaku's Sharingan instantly activated, and the three tomoe in his blood-red eyes spun rapidly.

Using the Sharingan's perception, he clearly sensed shadowy figures moving around him, seemingly monitoring his every move.

Fugaku did not stop or turn around to look at the followers. He continued walking as if nothing was wrong, while his mind raced, trying to come up with a solution.

"Could it be the Anbu, or someone from Root?" Fugaku wondered to himself. "Whoever it is, this kind of large-scale surveillance is far too abnormal."

Fugaku's unease intensified; his intuition told him that the situation was worse than he had imagined.
