Chapter 154 Corpse Nest

At this moment, a giant tortoise, the size of a bus, was rampaging through the streets, rapidly moving towards the city center.

Fugaku, Bai Xiaofei, and Kaiwei Nai stood on the back of this giant turtle-shaped zombie. This zombie was huge, with a flat carapace large enough to accommodate several people standing and moving around.

Moreover, this turtle zombie was incredibly fast; its limbs swept away all obstacles like a bulldozer.

The wrecked cars and overturned license plates on the street were utterly vulnerable in its presence, instantly pushed aside with a grating metallic scraping sound.

Fugaku stood steadily at the very front of the tortoise's shell, surveying the road ahead.

Bai Xiaofei stood beside Fugaku, his eyes still somewhat dazed. His gaze kept drifting towards Fugaku, his mind replaying the unbelievable scene from just moments ago.

Fugaku merely glanced at the zombie, and the next second, the enormous creature obediently lay down like a tamed pet, allowing them to step onto its back.

He couldn't help but steal a glance at Fugaku beside him, wondering to himself, "Just who is this guy?"

Meanwhile, the appetizer, like a curious child, kept looking around. He squatted down, carefully reaching out to gently stroke the hard, rough tortoise shell beneath his feet. "Wow, cousin, feel it! This feels amazing!"

Bai Xiaofei glared at him irritably: "Stop messing around! This isn't the time to play around."

The giant turtle zombie continued forward and soon arrived at a bridge spanning the river. The moment it stepped onto the bridge, something unexpected happened.

Just then, a deafening roar came from underwater.

"boom!"

The water surface churned violently as if boiling, and a colossal creature burst forth from the water. It was a giant fish zombie, over ten meters long, its murky water droplets reflecting an eerie light in the sunlight.

It opened its gaping maw, revealing rows of sharp, knife-like teeth, and pounced on the crowd.

"Holy crap!" Kaiwei Nai exclaimed, plopped down on the turtle's back, and his face instantly turned pale.

Bai Xiaofei instantly tensed all his muscles, his right hand already touching the greatsword at his waist. His eyes sharpened, ready to strike at any moment.

However, Fugaku remained standing with his arms crossed, his expression unchanged, as if he hadn't seen anything.

Just as the fish-like zombie was about to touch the turtle's shell, his eyes suddenly narrowed, and a powerful chakra surge erupted from his body.

The next instant, a giant skeletal arm made of black energy suddenly materialized beside Fugaku.

The skeletal arm moved swiftly, grabbing the fish zombie's head. The immense force brought the fish zombie's charge to an abrupt halt; it thrashed its body wildly.

Fugaku's Sharingan slowly rotated, and the power in his skeletal arm suddenly increased.

"Creak!"

The bony claws tightened, instantly cracking the fish-like zombie's tough scales. With a sickeningly loud squeezing sound, its massive body exploded into a bloody, mangled mess, like a watermelon being crushed.

The whole process took only a few seconds. Before Bai Xiaofei and Kaiwei Nai could react, the battle was over. The two stared at Fugaku in disbelief, speechless for a moment.

The boy's eyes widened, his mouth agape enough to fit an egg. He stared blankly at the dissipating skeletal arm, stammering, "What...what is that? It's so cool! Can you teach me?"

Fugaku calmly replied, "No, this is a unique ability of mine."

He then turned to look ahead, a hint of seriousness flashing in his eyes. "Hold on tight, we need to speed up."

Before the words were even finished, the turtle zombie beneath their feet suddenly jolted. Its massive limbs accelerated abruptly, as if four motors were running at full throttle simultaneously.

The turtle's speed increased dramatically in an instant, and the surrounding scenery instantly turned into blurry light and shadow.

Caught off guard, Bai Xiaofei and Kaiwei Nai were nearly thrown off the turtle's back by the sudden acceleration. They hurriedly grabbed the protrusions on the turtle's shell to steady themselves.

As they drew closer, the enormous red cube in the distance gradually revealed its grotesque and terrifying true form. It wasn't a cube at all; it was clearly a grotesque building pieced together from countless zombies.

Countless twisted and deformed human bodies writhe on its surface. Some zombies only show half of their heads, some have an arm or a leg, and some can only be seen as having a constantly rotating eyeball.

Rotten chunks of flesh kept falling off, only to be replaced by new flesh and blood. Foul-smelling pus seeped from the cracks, forming puddles of nauseating sludge on the ground.

With a grave expression, Fugaku slowly maneuvered the tortoise towards the eerie building. As they drew closer, they discovered that a fully armed army was already stationed nearby.

Upon seeing Fugaku and his group, the soldiers immediately pointed their weapons at them. A tense atmosphere instantly filled the air.

Just then, a sharp shout pierced the air: "Halt! Who goes there!"

As soon as he finished speaking, a man wielding two swords strode out, looking at Fugaku with a serious expression.

The man was wearing a pair of specially made glasses with lenses that shimmered with an eerie blue light, as if he were performing some kind of scan, with lines of data flashing across his eyes.

Suddenly, his expression changed, and his pupils contracted sharply. He saw the following text: [Uchiha Fugaku, Foreign Specialist, Scan Energy Value 3].

"Holy crap, his internal energy level is at least at the peak of the Earth Rank!" He gasped, then quickly signaled the surrounding soldiers to retreat. "We're all on the same side, it's alright."

The soldiers then slowly lowered their weapons.

Then, the man suddenly changed to a strange tone and said to Fugaku, "Hey, Kobayashi from the fourth team of the Yanhuang Special Ability Team, what are you doing here?"

Fugaku frowned slightly, looking at the man who called himself Kobayashi with a strange expression. He ignored the man's odd manner of speaking and went straight to the point: "Is the Corpse King in here?"

Upon hearing this, Xiao Lin's face immediately showed a hint of embarrassment. He scratched his head and said somewhat shyly, "You can speak the Chinese language?"

Fugaku remained expressionless, merely nodding slightly, while Bai Xiaofei and the other person couldn't help but chuckle to themselves.

Kobayashi coughed awkwardly, quickly adjusting his tone and posture. "Sorry, I just had a professional fit. Yes, the Corpse King is inside this... uh, Corpse Nest. The Special Ability Team Two has already gone in."

Fugaku nodded: "Understood. Let's go in and take a look."

"Wait a minute," Kobayashi said hurriedly, "There's a problem. The corpse nest automatically shut down after one team went in."

Upon hearing this, Fugaku slowly walked towards the corpse nest. Standing close by, looking up, he saw that this giant tower made of flesh and blood was hundreds of meters high, enveloping the entire street.

"Is this where the Corpse King resides?" Fugaku murmured to himself, a hint of solemnity flashing in his eyes. He could sense a powerful, chilling aura surging deep within this colossal tower of flesh and blood.

"It seems that if I want to get in, I'll have to force my way in," Fugaku muttered to himself.
