Chapter 42 Heading to the Wormhole

Chapter 42 Heading to the Wormhole

General Stark strode over, his gaze sweeping between Herman and Newton, and said in a deep voice, "Now that the base's location has been exposed, our primary task is to gather as much intelligence about the enemy as possible."

"But, General!" Herman wanted to argue further, but Stark stopped him by raising his hand.

"I understand your concerns, Dr. Herman. But we have no choice but to take this risk right now," Stark said firmly.

Newton excitedly chimed in, "That's right! And I discovered that besides the main brain in its head, each of the octopus monster's tentacles has a secondary brain. If we connect to the secondary brains, the risk might be much lower."

"Sub-brain?" Stark frowned.

"Yes, the secondary brain doesn't have as many neurons as the main brain. If we use the secondary brain on the tentacles for synesthesia, it might reduce the burden on my brain," Newton said firmly. "I have to try again!"

Stark nodded in agreement and then instructed his men to arrange Newton's synaptic device.

Meanwhile, Fugaku Uchiha was already prepared in the cockpit.

Suddenly, a heavy mechanical sound rang in his ears. Fugaku turned his head and saw a huge mechanical arm slowly moving and hovering above Storm's crimson back.

At the end of the robotic arm was a massive metal object, its surface covered with a dense array of interfaces and pipes, gleaming with a cold metallic luster under the light.

Boom!

With a loud bang, the robotic arm snapped off, and at the same time, Storm's crimson back armor seamlessly closed in, locking onto the nuclear bomb completely.

Fugaku Uchiha sat in the cockpit, his hands gripping the control stick tightly.

With a roar, a giant transport plane carrying the Crimson Storm took off from the base and sped towards the Pacific Ocean.

As they got closer to the center, the buildings on land soon became tiny dots on the horizon.

"Ready to drop!" A staff member's voice suddenly came through the communicator, breaking the silence in the cabin.

As soon as he finished speaking, Fugaku felt the mecha tremble slightly, and the steel cable connecting the Storm to the crimson flames snapped.

Instantly, a dizzying feeling of weightlessness swept through his body, and the mecha began to fall downwards at an extremely fast speed.

"Bang!"

The crimson storm crashed heavily into the sea, the enormous impact instantly sending water columns tens of meters high into the air.

Amidst the rolling waves, the mecha's massive body gradually sank into the deep blue seabed and disappeared from sight.

Fugaku gripped the control stick and began to descend. The Crimson Storm traversed the deep sea, the surrounding waters swirling constantly due to the mech's movements.

General Stark's voice suddenly came through the communicator: "Approaching the wormhole's location."

Soon, large cracks emitting a blue light appeared on the seabed ahead. The light flickered, as if something was surging within them. The seawater around the cracks also seemed to become more turbulent.

Fugaku stared intently at the blue light, then slowly pushed the control stick, and Storm Crimson approached the crack.

Suddenly, lightning crackled across the sea ahead, countless blue bolts of lightning roaring above the crack and illuminating the entire seabed. The arcs of electricity emitted blinding light, casting an eerie glow on the water.

"What's going on?" Fugaku frowned.

Meanwhile, tension was palpable in the base command center.

"A large energy reaction has occurred ahead!" a technician's urgent voice rang out, his fingers flying across the keyboard.

Dr. Herman leaned closer to the screen, scrutinizing the scrolling data, his face instantly turning deathly pale. "What? This is impossible! According to my calculations, the next attack will take at least another five hours!" he muttered incredulously.

General Stark frowned deeply, took a deep breath, picked up the communicator, and his calm and powerful voice reached Fugaku's ears.

"Fugaku, hurry, time is running out!"

No sooner had the words left his mouth than a loud explosion resounded from the seabed!

A massive black shadow roared out from the center of the wormhole at an astonishing speed, and crashed into Storm's crimson chest in an instant.

"boom!"

The violent collision triggered a small tsunami on the seabed, and the raging currents instantly swept across the surrounding hundreds of meters of sea.

The massive, crimson body of the storm shuddered violently from the sudden impact, and Fugaku felt the seawater around the mecha boil over in that instant, with countless bubbles bursting before his eyes.

The intense vibrations were transmitted to his palms through the control stick. Fugaku gritted his teeth and braced his feet firmly against the cockpit wall, trying his best to stabilize the mecha.

Through the screen, now blurred from the violent impact, Fugaku finally saw the true form of the Kaiju that had attacked him.

It was a Kaiju beast that resembled a rat, covered in hard scales, with several sharp bone spikes on its tail, like sharp spears.

"roar!"

"Tail-Standing Rat" let out a deafening roar and slammed into Storm Crimson again.

With quick reflexes, Fugaku swiftly adjusted the mecha's posture, crossing his arms in front of him to block the view.

boom!

The sturdy body of the Tail Rat slammed heavily into Storm's crimson arm with a loud bang.

The massive, crimson body of the storm was pushed back by the enormous impact, and the sand and stones on the seabed were kicked up by the heavy footsteps of the mecha and scattered into the dark seawater.

Before he could catch his breath, Tail-Standing Rat suddenly turned around, its long tail like a javelin, piercing straight towards Storm's crimson cockpit.

In a flash, Fugaku reacted. He jerked the control stick, and the mechanical arm on the Storm's crimson back suddenly extended, drawing an arc in the seawater, and grabbed the long tail of the Ootori Rat!

Tail-Standing Rat let out an angry roar, frantically whipping its tail, trying to break free from the mech's grip.

Fugaku's gaze sharpened, and he growled, "Now!" He then pressed a button on the control arm.

With a metallic "click," the mechanical arm on Storm Crimson's back slowly unfolded. A giant electronic cannon emerged, its muzzle aimed directly at Tail-Standing Rat's head, poised to fire.

"Electronic cannon, activate!" A cold, electronic voice echoed in the cockpit.

As soon as he finished speaking, a dazzling blue light shone from the mechanical arm, instantly turning the surrounding seawater a deep blue.

Boom!

With a deafening roar, a thick beam of light struck the Tail-Standing Rat's head with tremendous force. The shockwave from the explosion created rings of bubbles, instantly emptying the nearby seawater and forming a massive cavity.

Half of the tailed rat's head was blasted off, and blue-green blood gushed from the wound, spreading in the seawater and dyeing the surroundings a strange blue-green color.

The massive body of the Tail-Standing Rat convulsed violently a few times before finally collapsing limply and slowly sinking into the deep sea.

Before Fugaku Uchiha could even catch his breath, General Stark's urgent voice rang out through the communicator: "Fugaku, watch out! The detectors show more Kaiju emerging from the wormhole!"
