Chapter 61 Mission Complete (Please continue reading)

His body reacted instinctively. He pushed off the ground with both feet and leaped backward with agility.

Just as Madara left his spot, a powerful shockwave suddenly erupted centered on Muzan.

"boom!"

The violent explosion instantly displaced the surrounding air. The shockwave spread outwards, creating a strong gust of wind, and debris and dust were thrown into the air by the shockwave.

Countless finger-sized chunks of flesh shot out in all directions with the force of the impact. They tore through the air with a piercing whistling sound, scattering rapidly like bullets.

These chunks of meat seemed to have gained their own consciousness and quickly fled into the distance.

"You're still alive? I underestimated you," Madara said in a low voice, a hint of surprise in his tone.

He then abruptly took a few steps back, his pupils contracting slightly, his Sharingan spinning rapidly as he tracked the trajectory of each flying piece of flesh. At the same time, his hands quickly formed hand seals.

"Fire Release: Great Fire Annihilation!" Madara shouted.

An astonishing heatwave erupted instantly. The blazing flames surged forward like a massive tidal wave. In the blink of an eye, the sea of fire engulfed the entire field of vision, turning the sky and earth crimson.

A raging inferno shot skyward, reaching the heavens. Distant snow vaporized instantly under the terrifying heat, forming vast plumes of white mist. Trees twisted and contorted in the flames, emitting mournful cries.

Wherever the fire wave reached, everything was instantly vaporized. The fleeing chunks of flesh turned to ashes the moment they touched the flames.

The terrifying range of this fire technique was so vast that it even alarmed a distant village. The villagers stared in disbelief at the enormous pillar of fire rising in the distance, as if the end of the world had arrived.

The flames gradually died down, leaving behind a scorched earth. Thick smoke rose slowly, forming a gray cloud in the sky.

Suddenly, Madara's eyes narrowed slightly, and his Sharingan spun rapidly. His gaze locked onto several tiny black dots in the distance—a few pieces of flesh that had managed to escape and were quickly moving away.

Ban's brow furrowed slightly. A hint of displeasure flashed in his eyes: "Are there still some who slipped through the net?"

He instinctively wanted to give chase, but a wave of discomfort washed over him. Ban looked down at his aged body and sighed inwardly.

Although this body can still unleash ninjutsu and engage in short-term combat, it can no longer sustain a long-distance chase.

Just as Ban was lost in thought, a faint, ethereal voice suddenly echoed in his mind:

[Main quest completed. Want to return immediately?]

Ban raised his head slightly, a thoughtful look flashing in his eyes. He remained silent for a moment, then answered in a low voice, "No."

The voice of the supreme deity sounded again: [You may stay for another hour.]

As the voice of the supreme deity faded, Madara slowly turned around and walked towards Tanjiro's house. His steps were steady, but his mind was in constant thought.

"Why did the main god specifically assign me to protect this family?" Madara wondered to himself. "Is there anything special about this family?"

He recalled his brief encounter with Tanjiro's family and tried to find clues from it.

"If I hadn't come to carry out this mission, they would have been slaughtered by Muzan," Madara continued his analysis. "So, is Tanjiro the special one...?"

At this moment, Madara Uchiha recalled Tanjiro's appearance, that red-haired boy with a sunny smile.

His gaze was slightly unfocused, as if he had traveled through time. He remembered a boy from many years ago, a boy who was equally sunny and enthusiastic. That boy had eyes similar to Tanjiro's, always full of hope and longing for the future.

-

At this moment, in the snow-covered mountains and forests

Tanjiro's heart pounded, and his panting was exceptionally clear in the silent mountain forest.

His legs ran tirelessly, the soles of his shoes crunching on the thick snow.

At that moment, the towering flame he had seen at the foot of the mountain kept replaying in his mind. His heart clenched tightly.

Suddenly, Tanjiro's nose twitched slightly. He stopped abruptly, and his pupils contracted sharply.

A strange odor wafted into his nostrils. It was the metallic smell of blood mixed with the stench of burnt flesh. The smell was so strong that it almost suffocated him.

Tanjiro's face turned pale instantly. His body trembled slightly, and his hands clenched involuntarily.

"No, that's impossible."

Tanjiro forced himself to calm down and fixed his gaze ahead once more. The mountain path leading home seemed exceptionally long at this moment.

"Everything will be alright," he kept telling himself. "Mom and my younger siblings will be safe and sound."

Tanjiro finally arrived at his doorstep, his chest heaving and his breathing rapid. Without even catching his breath, he immediately reached out and pulled open the wooden door.

With a "click," the door was suddenly pushed open.

"Mom! Nezuko! Shigeru! Hanako! Rokuta!" Tanjiro called out his family's names as he rushed into the house. His voice was hoarse from running and worry.

Just then, a soft footstep sound came from inside the house. Tanjiro looked up sharply and saw his mother and younger siblings coming out of the inner room, their faces showing confusion and concern.

I'm currently reading the error-free version! This is the first time I've published this novel.

"Tanjiro, what's wrong?" his mother, Aoi, asked gently.

Seeing his family safe and sound, Tanjiro finally felt relieved. A surge of emotion welled up inside him, and tears streamed down his face uncontrollably.

"That's wonderful," Tanjiro said, his voice choked with emotion.

He practically threw himself at his family, embracing his younger sister, Midouzi, and his brothers in his arms. Tears streamed down his face, dripping onto the floor.

Tanjiro hugged his family tightly, as if to confirm that it was all real.

His shoulders trembled slightly, partly from the relief of surviving the ordeal, and partly from finally being able to release the tension and fear within him.

Although the younger brothers didn't understand what had happened, they could sense Tanjiro's emotions. They gently patted his back, comforting their older brother who had suddenly become vulnerable.

Seeing her son's excited expression, Aoi explained softly, "It was Mr. Madara; he protected us."

Upon hearing the name, Tanjiro abruptly looked up, a flicker of surprise and gratitude in his eyes. He immediately stood up and ran towards Madara's room.

Tanjiro arrived at Madara's room, took a deep breath, and gently pushed the door open. He saw Madara sitting in the center of the room, deep in thought.

Before Madara could speak, Tanjiro immediately knelt down and bowed his head deeply.

"Mr. Madara," Tanjiro's voice trembled slightly with emotion. "Thank you so much for protecting my family. I don't know how to express my gratitude."

Tanjiro heard a slight noise and looked up. A piece of paper floated lightly to the floor in front of him.

He carefully picked up the paper and examined it closely. The paper contained a human silhouette, with dense lines covering its entire body, resembling some kind of complex meridian diagram. Beside the diagram were some brief annotations.

"Try doing it according to the instructions on the paper," Ban's calm voice rang out.

Tanjiro looked at the blueprint in his hand with a slightly puzzled expression, then looked up at Madara. He hesitated for a moment, then asked, "Mr. Madara, what is this...?"
