I became Hokage in Tokyo

Chapter 47-048: Killing is for the sake of protecting life; severing karma is not the same as killin

Chapter 47-048: Killing to protect life, severing karma, not killing people (Please continue reading)

"Dead! Dead!"

A monk guarding the gate shouted.

Kimura's eyes widened in disbelief. Not only was the monk in the straw hat ruthless, killing him with a single blow, but the fact that he had smashed the monk's head into his abdomen with his staff was an incredible display of strength!

Kimura, the monk, sensed something was wrong and quietly retreated to the back of the crowd.

"All of you, attack together and kill this wild monk!"

After Kimura gave the order, four or five gatekeeper monks grinned and rushed up with sticks. They outnumbered him and there was no way he could survive the hail of blows.

With a seemingly effortless flick of his staff, the monk in the straw hat broke the wooden sticks in their hands, causing their tiger's mouths to split open and bleed profusely.

Then the stick, carrying the force of wind and thunder, swept them away, and they landed on the ground barely breathing, clearly not going to live.

"You're so bald!"

Kimura's expression changed drastically, and he quickly retreated back to the courtyard. On the way, he encountered a group of monks who had come to help after hearing the commotion; they were also carrying wooden sticks.

"Kimura-senpai, what happened?!"

"Monk! There's a monk!"

The monks who came to help were completely confused. One of them scratched his shiny bald head and said, "What monks? Aren't we all monks?"

"Oh no! Monks have come to our door! It's an enemy attack!"

Kimura stamped his foot in frustration and roared loudly. His shrill cry attracted the attention of the other monks patrolling the courtyard, who rushed to his aid.

Seeing that there were fifty or sixty monks gathered, Kimura's courage grew. That strong monk in the straw hat was indeed frightening, but could he have three heads and six arms and fight against a hundred people?

He glanced at the wooden sticks in the monks' hands, a fierce glint in his eyes, and said menacingly:

"Throw away the sticks, use knives! Hand over the knives, this enemy is no ordinary one, I'm going to tear him to pieces!"

Several monks rushed into the storeroom in the courtyard and took out bundles of samurai swords and katanas wrapped in straw ropes, distributing them among the monks.

A group of fierce-looking monks, armed with knives, charged menacingly toward the gate!

The rain gradually intensified.

The monk in the straw hat, wearing a canopy that completely obscured his face and carrying a blood-stained staff, strolled over leisurely.

"Quickly, kill him!"

Kimura's eyes were bloodshot as he shouted angrily.

The Dharma assembly has undoubtedly begun. He has already lost face by not bringing the twins as sacrifices. If this monk in the straw hat were to barge into the assembly and disrupt the leader's sacrificial ceremony, he would be truly finished!

One after another, monks wielding katanas, their faces hideous, rushed over in the drizzle, howling and slashing.

These are hardly monks who have attained purity of mind; they are clearly a group of evil spirits!

The monk in the straw hat moved steadily, leaving footprints on the ground, and charged forward head-on, wielding his staff!

"Clang clang!"

The wooden staffs were not cut down by the katana. Instead, they broke the bones and tendons of the katana and their owners' arms. Then the staffs either struck the chest, smashing a hole the size of a face, or swept across, sending people flying several meters, or simply smashed bald heads to pieces!

The staff in the straw hat was wielded with great force by the monk; anyone who was even slightly grazed by the staff would either die or be seriously injured!

In an instant, dozens of people collapsed on the ground, and the rest of the monks completely broke down.

They were merely lured in by the cult leader's magic and money; they weren't some kind of suicide squad. The fact that they've held out this long is quite remarkable.

The monks, their morale shattered, began to flee in all directions. The monk in the straw hat dropped his staff, formed a mudra with his hands, and then lifted his straw hat to reveal his mouth.

With a single breath, fireballs shot into the air like a shower of flowers, setting the fleeing monks ablaze and eliciting agonizing screams!

The rain intensified, with fine silver threads falling from the sky to the ground as if to wash away the sins of the world. Scattered on the ground were blackened, charred objects, burning like torches, with embers scattering, which even the rain could not extinguish.

Dark clouds, rain, fire, a white-robed monk wearing a straw hat, and a monk lying on the ground watched this scene before taking his last breath.

Perhaps the true Buddha is one who eradicates all evil.

…………

The commotion in the front yard had become so loud that it could no longer be concealed, and the believers standing in the drizzle couldn't help but whisper among themselves.

The cult leader, with a halo of Buddha above his head, frowned and kept glancing towards the front yard.

A pile of firewood had been stacked in the courtyard. Two identical boys were tied back to back to a wooden stake, their innocent eyes fixed on their parents holding torches. They were asking when the game would end and that they wanted to go home.

"What on earth happened? Why was there such a loud noise!"

The fat, big-eared cult leader looked displeased and said to his senior brother Date, "Go to the front yard and see what that good-for-nothing Kimura is up to."

"Yes, Master!"

Senior Brother Ida lowered his head and hurried away in small steps. Then the cult leader turned around, a fake, compassionate smile on his face, and said in a booming voice:

"Lay Buddhists, only by offering the inauspicious twins to the Twin Buddhas can we weaken the power of the evil body and save the world before the end of the Dharma era!"

"Come, you two lay devotees, please purify these evil spirits with your sacred flames!"

Senior Brother Date rushed into the corridor and saw Kimura, pale-faced, scrambling towards him, screaming in terror:

"People are dead! So many people are dead! The entire guardian team has been wiped out!"

Upon hearing this, Date, who had originally intended to mock Kimura, also became serious: "Dozens of people are dead! How is this possible! Who attacked?!"

With so many deaths, even the Orthodox Church can't cover it up; it will definitely shake the whole country!

This couldn't have been done by a yakuza group. Under official suppression, they have to be careful with their words and actions. We haven't seen a fight of this scale for many years. It's one thing for yakuza groups to secretly kill a few people, but how could they openly attack the headquarters of the Zhengxin Society?

Thugs are in it to make money, not because they're inherently fond of fighting and killing. What benefit would they gain from killing so many people? Not to mention, if the authorities investigate afterwards, every group, regardless of its origin, would be eradicated by the authorities.

"Could it be the Metropolitan Police Department? Because the cult leader killed their undercover agent, they've gone on a killing spree?"

But how long has it been? The Metropolitan Police Department has already acted so swiftly to avenge their comrade. Is this still the Metropolitan Police Department he knows, the one that only knows how to be late and apologize? Even if they believe they were at fault first, how is the Metropolitan Police Department going to face the condemnation of public opinion across the country after killing so many people? Even if the Superintendent General of Police were to kneel in reverence, he might not be able to handle it.

"No, no! It's a ghost! A monk, he's hitting someone with a stick, an evil being! He's not human, he must be the evil being of the Twin Buddhas!" Kimura shouted incoherently.

Kimura, sensing the danger, fled quickly and didn't have time to see the monk in the straw hat spew fireballs; otherwise, he might have completely collapsed by now.

"Baka!"

Senior Brother Date grabbed Kimura and slapped him several times in succession!

"What nonsense! Even if it's the evil form of the Twin Buddhas, don't forget that our leader is a reincarnation of a benevolent being! Evil cannot prevail over good; we still have our leader behind us!"

Whether it was the cult leader's name or the effect of those slaps, Kimura's eyes gradually cleared, and he stopped yelling.

Seeing this, Brother Date nodded and asked, "You said it's a monk? Not the Metropolitan Police Department? Yakuza?"

"Yes, yes!"

"Since he's just a monk with a wooden stick, what's there to be afraid of? Even if it's Mu Qing, how many bullets can he take?"

"You mean?"

"Even if the Dharma Protectors are wiped out, we still have the Purification Team. Our Purification Team is the most reliable last line of defense for the Master!" Senior Brother Ida said with a sharp look on his face.

Meanwhile, the monk in the straw hat had already moved from the front courtyard to the corridor, leaving a row of wet footprints on the ground. The central courtyard could be reached by walking through the long wooden corridor.

At this moment, seven or eight monks suddenly squeezed in from the other side of the corridor. These monks were different from the previous ones who were big and burly. They all had regular features and good figures.

Moreover, they were all carrying modified hunting rifles, and the two leaders were even carrying pistols.

Brother Ida looked at the white-robed monk wearing a canopy with hostility.

The canopy, shaped like an inverted straw basket, is woven from rattan or bamboo strips, with only a few rows of large square holes on the front. It is the typical attire of the Puhua sect monks, also known as the "Kōmusō" (or "Kōmusō" monks).

Could it be that the temples in Chichibu District, Saitama Prefecture, are dissatisfied with the Seishin-kai's encroachment on their faith and have launched a religious war to wipe out the Seishin-kai? But how is that possible?! Even in the Warring States period, there were no such fierce warrior monks!

"You stinking monk, stop right there! Don't move! Who are you? Why are you here?!"

Brother Ida raised his pistol without aiming, finding himself with nowhere to dodge in the corridor, not to mention there were several other shotguns there as well.

Japan prohibits illegal possession of firearms by civilians and is a country with strict gun control requirements, ranking among the strictest in the world. Even with the financial resources of their Zhengxinhui, they could only obtain three handguns, and the rest had to be made up with hunting rifles.

Even so, a gun is still a gun. The lethality and attack range of firearms far surpass all long and short melee weapons!

Feeling the cold touch of the steel in his palm, and looking at his companions beside him, Kimura, who had almost been scared out of his wits, was filled with renewed courage.

Guns represent a man's power. If someone can accomplish something earth-shattering with a homemade broken gun, how can Kimura, wielding a genuine handgun, not become the cult leader's protective shield!

"Speak! Who sent you? What do you want?" Kimura threatened, his voice laced with bravado.

"Haven't I been having friendly discussions about Buddhism with you at the Zhengxin Association, in a way that we both enjoy?"

The monk in the straw hat removed his canopy, revealing deep wrinkles on his brow and a pair of dark eyes beneath his thick eyebrows.

"The Dharma exchange with the ordinary monks is over; the next one should be the leader. You should all go and listen!" A red glint flashed in the left eye of the monk in the straw hat.

Are you kidding me? How could I possibly let a dangerous person like you meet the cult leader? I'll kill you right here!

Kimura was about to pull the trigger, but out of the corner of his eye, he was shocked to see that the other monks had silently lowered their guns, spread out in unison, and stood on both sides, revealing the passageway.

"Are you betraying the leader?" Kimura was about to shout this when he realized that he was one of them.

As the monk in the straw hat walked past Kimura, he glanced at him disdainfully, as if looking at an ant.

"You don't need to go."

Kimura picked up the gun and pressed it against his chin.

"Bang!"

Evil body...

Indeed, it is an evil body...
