Chapter 1.1. Rebirth in America

UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles, California, USA, is one of the top hospitals in the United States with a very high level of medical care.

In a private hospital room, a young man slowly woke up. After a blur of vision, his pupils gradually focused.

He frowned and looked around, immediately realizing that he was in a hospital, seemingly lying in a hospital bed, with a woman by his side. However, it was already late at night, and the woman was asleep.

After work that day, he went out for a big meal and drinks with his friends from the film crew. Before he could even begin his directing career, he collapsed on the table in a daze.

I woke up to find myself successfully transported to another world, taking over the body of an unlucky guy in this hospital.

The unfortunate man whose place was taken is named Eric Cooper, a tall, handsome white young man, 22 years old, who just graduated from UCLA last week and can be considered a high achiever.

Besides his outstanding appearance and academic ability, Eric Cooper also comes from a well-off family.

Eric shrugged. "Mom, your son isn't that fragile."

The next step was for the doctor and patient to discuss the matter. Eric strongly requested to be discharged, while Dr. Charles suggested that he stay in the hospital for observation.

Ultimately, they decided that a week of observation was impossible, and three days was the limit. The Coopers felt sorry for their son, but they respected the doctor's advice and could only compromise.

Eric inadvertently glanced at a calendar on the nurses' station, which clearly showed May 20, 2002.

In an instant, a bolt of lightning flashed through my brain.

"In 2002, MGM, John Woo, Windtalkers, Holy crap! (horrified face)"
